It is Saturday and it is time for me to witness to more gangs. I was looking for a new gang from Dallas Texas. I thought that maybe because of the cold weather that I would be forced to meet them at their homes. But the weather turned out to be nicer then I thought so I headed to the park that’s near Commerce City. Sure enough when I got there they were gangs there but not the one I was looking for. There were two gangs facing each other but no weapons were drawn. I recognized both of these gangs and the leaders were having a peaceful discussion. I stopped my pickup and got out to put my tailgate down. I saw five men running towards me from one gang. They shouted, “Hey Sonny, let us help you with those heavy coolers. We have been waiting for you and we are craving Dr Pepper badly.”
As they began lifting the cooler down, I asked, “How is it that both of your gangs are talking to each other? You always fight with each other.”
One man replied, “We are done fighting. Those Christmas cards that you had us fill out to send to our parents. It really messed us up. When we thought about our parents, past Christmases, and began writing things down it made us cry. We have a surprise for you SONNY. I wrote a song about forgiveness to my mom and dad. I know that God will forgive me if I forgive my parents.”
When he sang it to me I was impressed on how amazing his voice was. I really believe God will use his voice for his Kingdom. I then went over to the leaders and began starting a conversation with them. They immediately asked, “Sonny, can God really forgive us. We have done a lot of bad things. We have already called our parents to ask for forgiveness from them. Even though our parents did bad things to us, we were not much better in the way we treated them. We want Jesus to be able to forgive us. ”
I began to notice cars starting to show up. The one leader continued, “We have not been a gang for two weeks. The first thing we did was make things right with our parents. They are coming at 2pm to meet us. The next thing, as you said, is to get our hearts right with God. We want to do that before we go home.”
What happened next is amazing. Listen to the entire story:
Over the Christmas break I have discovered the power of what it is like to be in the will of God. I know from Jesus Christ that I am not a perfect being. I am one of those that the book of Romans talks about:
Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
This is proof that I am not any more special than anyone else. But one thing I do know is that when you’re doing things for God he is going to be there to make sure it happens. On my flight to Reno from Denver my plane was the only one that wasn’t canceled. I was flying Southwest Airlines and they have been having problems. But God needed me there. He had two hungry families waiting for me when I arrived to bless. I was in the security line 1.5 hrs before my flight but the line was moving to slow. I flagged down on of the men riding in luggage cart and mentioned to him that I was about to miss my flight. He immediately said climb on board and he rushed me towards the front of the line. He then told the checkers that I had an important mission and to push me through to my flight. While he drove me to the front of the line, he shared with me that God told him that there would be a man with an emergency and that I should help you.
God was not gonna let any flight delay keep me from getting there.
I arrived in Reno on time. The families waiting for me were sure surprised when they found out I came from Colorado to bless them.
I also discovered on my way back that the same thing occurred. All Southwest flights were all canceled but mine. There were two gangs that were waiting for me to witness to when I returned. God made sure that I arrived home without putting flight issues into my life. Again, God made sure my flight left on time and arrived on time.
While I was waiting to board I could see all the anger from irritate passengers. One man was abusive to a lady who worked for Southwest. She had no control of what was going on and I cannot stand men who abusive women. I went up to him and began to ask the guy about his medical history. I caught him off guard and he began to answer my questions. Soon he asked me what this was all about. I warned him that a helicopter was about to come and he would be unconscious. I explained to him that they would need his medical history. That shook him up and he was about to sit down. I made him apologize to the woman first. He greatfully did and quietly sat down. As I was about to leave, I looked into his eyes and said that I would come back if he changed his mind and finish the job. You should have seen everybody settle down. The Southwest employee smiled.
My God gave me rest during my trip and I was not stressed out about anything going home. I had time to meet with Blue Mustang for breakfast before I went to the gangs.
So many times in life we are doing things for ourselves and we are contrary to the will of God. Sometimes we need to get back to doing things for our God and he will make our lives less challenging. But our King will allow things to happen to test us because he wants to see what we’re made out of and what our faith is like. Just remember you can go on a vacation and be in God’s will. How do we know if we are in God’s will? Check to see if what you are about to do gives Glory to God. If it does, this is a good indicator that you are in his plans. If not, you are just glorifying yourself.
God has been talking a lot about what he’s going to be doing in Academia through his prophets. I have had the opportunity to speak to college students on Monday and Tuesday night. I received a report from one girl who said, “Our professor came into the classroom early and observed me having a serious conversation with another student.”
He was curious what we were talking about and asked, “Megan, you look so serious when you were talking with the other student. What were you guys talking about?”
Megan replied, “We were talking about how God is so faithful.” The professor wanted to immediately stop our discussion and did not ask anymore questions.
A couple of days later he asked a little bit more about what we were talking about then Megan asked, “Is your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life?”
He immediately replied, “No.”
Megan then replied, “Our time on this Earth is temporary. We do not know when in our time is up. Now is the time to give your heart to Jesus Christ.”
Again, he really did not want to speak anything more about this and dropped the subject. Four days later he came to Megan and said, “You know I have not been able to sleep at night. I have been thinking about what you said about where am I going to be spending eternity.”
Megan replied, “That was the Holy Spirit convicting your heart. He wants you to give your life to Jesus Christ.”
After Megan prayed for him, that professor began to cry and gave his life to Jesus Christ. When he told his wife about it she also began crying. You know his class has been a lot different since he has given his life to Jesus Christ. Megan reported that there was a different atmosphere going to his classroom after giving his heart to Jesus Christ. I know that God is going to continue working through Academia and I would love to be able to make a report which I probably will in the future witnessing the Holy Spirit moving during algebra class. God loves our young people and he wants their hearts. God will be using students like Megan to accomplish his will.
I told Blue Mustang that my sister bought me a ticket two weeks ago to come to her house for Christmas. He then said, “I bet God is going to bring families into your trip when you get there just like he did last year.”
God finally confirmed to me that there would be two families. He did not say anything else. After I arrived in Reno, my sister and her husband took me to one of those chain grocery stores to go shopping. Usually this is where God brings the families to me. I looked around the store but didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. I then decided to look in the back. I snuck to the back of the store and opened the door to the dumpsters. There I saw an old beat up car and a family rummaging through the dumpsters. They were collecting expired fruits and vegetables and they even had picked out a package of expired steaks. I then walked outside where they were working and asked them this question, “What would you say if somebody would come from Colorado to bless you.”
They replied, “That would be totally amazing and we would receive it.”
I then said, “Well, I have come from Colorado and I am here to bless you.”
At this moment they began to cry. I never really noticed but God had the manager come outside about this time and he began to listen to everything that I said. I began to tell the family a little bit about me about me and the ministry that Blue Mustang has in the ghetto in Denver. I then began laying the 50s into their hands. I said, “This is the Father, this is the Son and this is the Holy Spirit. And this is $20 for inflation.”
Normally they laugh at this, but this family was in dire straits and they began to cry realizing what just happened. Their little son asked, “Does that mean we can get some cereal?”
I said, “You bet!”
The father said, “You know the fruit and vegetables are rotten.” He then threw them back into the dumpster. He then said, “But I am keeping the steaks. We are going to move our car to the front and come in the store like normal people.”
The manager then came up to me and said, “I have never seen anything like this before and it about made me cry. I want to make sure that I give these this family a discount when they check out.”
The manager walked with me through the store so that we could meet them at the entrance. When we walked outside there was another family that approached the manager and asked, “Do you have any expired baloney or food that we can have? We are hungry and have nothing to eat.”
The manager looked at me and asked, “Does this always happen like this?”
I said, “Yeah, many times it does.”
About this time the husband’s wife said, “I recognize my sister. She is coming towards us.” I noticed she was referring to the car of the first family. Up until this time I had no idea that these families were related. God has been bringing two related families together for Blue Mustang. Both families always love God.
I introduced myself to them and explained to them the ministry of Blue Mustang to them. I then blessed them the same way I did the first family. The sisters were both excited to see each other there because this was not planned. This was orchestrated by God. Their children also asked, “Does that mean we can buy cereal now?” Things likes cereal we take for granted but to both of these family it was a luxury. My sister, who took care of blessing one family, again missed out on what just happened. They were both busy inside of the store getting groceries and never realized what was happening. There are always families in need no matter where we may travel.
I have noticed that in the ghetto of Denver that the whole community is changing because of what Blue Mustang started. I just don’t see the bad guys like I used to. When good is present, the forces of darkness are forced to move out of the way. But it takes effort on our part, prayer, and the power of the Holy Spirit to make this happen. Maybe Blue Mustang has started something big here in this community. Only time will tell us what God is up to.
Have you ever noticed how it seems like the left do not get in trouble for anything. It is because they own the judicial system. The conservatives get in trouble for everything and most of it is made up. Our press and entertainment industry are responsible for most of it. See it:
We all need to try to stay away from both the press and our entertainment industry. They do not benefit us spiritually at all.
It was Friday night and I was witnessing to people out on the street. All of a sudden three white vans showed up. When the doors opened up all of these beautiful women started exiting. I recognize some of them as prostitutes that I have witnessed to before. I began looking for their pimps but I did not see them. I asked them what they were up to.
One girl said, “Sonny we want to give our lives to Jesus Christ before we go home.” They told me about their story. She said, “Our pimps stopped at a restaurant to get something to eat together. They left the vans running so that we would stay warm. I said to the other girls that I want to go home for Christmas. The other girls thought about it to and all of us decided we wanted to go home too. So we all decided to steal the vans. One of the girls said she knew where you were at. So we immediately left the restaurant in these three vans. The pimps saw us take off with their vans and started chasing us on foot but they could not catch us.”
I begin praying for them as they confessed there sins. Meanwhile, the undercover captain was driving a big bus. He just finished dropping a bunch of people off at a convention and was heading in my direction on the way back. It was amazing when he stopped to see what I was up to when he saw all these prostitutes surrounding me. I told him what they were about to do.
He said, “Why don’t all of you get into this bus and I can haul you ladies off to a safe place until your parents arrive.”
We took the keys to the vans and threw them inside and left. The undercover police came back later and the vans were gone. Being in a dangerous neighborhood we have no idea whether the vans were stolen or retrieved by the pimps. It was so cool to see 72 women give their hearts to Jesus Christ.
It is so exciting to imagine these women being home for Christmas with a new life in Jesus Christ and spending Christmas with their families. God gets the glory and the victory.
It was Friday night it and I was getting ready to head to the streets after I had the undercover study Bible study. Around 11 PM my King had me do something that I was not expecting. He said, “You need to head down I-25 where there are two girls were about ready to jump off the overpass. Get going right away.”
I immediately started heading down I-25 and was looking at every overpass but I was having problems seeing them. My King then directed me to my eyes to the other side of the highway. The overpass was well lit and I could see them on the outside of that fence that goes across the top of the overpass. They were just standing there waiting for enough courage to jump off. I pulled off to the side of the highway. I was on the wrong side of the road and I had to physically walk and maneuver my way over the busy interstate to get over where they were at. I made sure that I had my Bible with me. When I got close to where they were at, they said, “There is nothing that you can say that will keep us from jumping.”
I said, “I am not here to do that but Jesus Christ sent me here to tell you how much he loves you. I also want to quote verse Jeremiah 29:11 for you.”
Before I could hardly say a word, one of the girls jumped in and quoted it word for word. She said, “I learned that verse when I was in Sunday school.”
I continue to talk with them about what happened. They shared with me, “We told our boyfriends that we wanted to have a relationship that honors marriage. So our boyfriends dumped us.”
I said, “No man is worth that who wants his own way and no respect for you. God has special men planned for you because you are willing to honor his will in marriage.”
All of the sudden they began to get scared and they asked, “Come closer to us. We want to get off this bridge.”
They begin to realize that they had value without their boyfriends. One girl grabbed a hold of my hoodie and the other one grabbed hold of her as we carefully walked off that bridge. One of the girls called their parents to have them come and get us.
The girls rededicated their life to Jesus Christ when returned to level ground. I did not share anything with what happened to the parents when they arrived. But the girls did and told them about their plans to jump. You can listen to the entire story here:
I had Friday off work for Thanksgiving and my King had plans for me to witness more gangs. Blue Mustang and I were making arrangements to meet for breakfast on Friday morning. We began discussing the three gangs that I was going to meet with. Blue Mustang then said, “I think we are going to have a family Friday morning.”
I hadn’t thought about that at all until God began directing my thoughts that the family would be in the ghetto and it would be at the King Soopers store. As we continued talking, Blue Mustang said, “I think this family was brought by the family that we blessed last year at Thanksgiving.” God never gave me any other direction but I exclaimed, “Now that would be cool.” So we waited to see what would happen.
On Friday morning I headed down to the King Soopers store in the ghetto. I saw two families praying together. I recognized Rachel from the family that was there last year. Blue Mustang was right when he said that the family that was there last year would be there with them. I found out that these families are related by sisters. Rachel had already told her sister about the miracle that they received last year after Thanksgiving. Rachel sister had approached her and asked, “Rachel, things are pretty tight right now and we cannot afford to buy groceries. My husband has a new job and we were forced to move to a new apartment. By the time we paid for damage deposit and first month and last months rent it has taken everything that we got. My husband is not going to be receiving a check for at least another week. Is there anything that you can do to help?”
Rachel replied, “We should pray and ask God for a miracle. Maybe God will send Blue Mustang to you like he did for us last year.” Her sister thought that that would be a great idea and both families headed to the grocery store.
As I approached the families Rachel soon recognize me. She was so excited to see me and thanked me for coming last year and began sharing everything with me what happened up to this point. It soon became time to hand out the money and Rachel asked, “Are you going to do what you did with us last year? I can’t exactly remember what you did but it was really cool.”
I smiled and started laying out the money with the 50s first saying, “This is the Father, this is the Son, this is the Holy Spirit and here’s an extra 20 for inflation.”
Rachel excitedly said, “Yeah, I remember that you did that last year. That is so cool and I like the part for the extra 20 for inflation.”
The kids were so excited now that they could go buy cereal and ice cream. Both the families begin to cry as the miracle unfolded. Rachel and John wanted to pray for us for me and Blue Mustang. They asked that God could continued to bless us financially so that we could keep this ministry going. They also prayed for our families and our protection.
It is so cool to be able to bless people you can listen to the rest of the story:
It is Thanksgiving day and I am going to see three gangs today. My King has scheduled me to see the first gang about 10 o’clock this morning. The second gang around lunchtime and the third gang about 2 pm. What is interesting about the gangs that my King chose, he did three weeks ago. Most of the time it’s within the week that I go. My King always has me do it on Thanksgiving day because it is more powerful when it’s done on that day. The undercover police that I work with arranged not only to prepare the food for the gangs but found families who would cook the gangs meals along with their families. And I do mean these guys know how to cook great food.
You will begin to see the power of God as I talked to each gang. When I went to the first gang, I was carrying one of the turkeys. I knocked on the door and they seemed more curious than they were anxious. But they asked, “What do you want?
I said, “I have a Turkey meal for you.”
They were shocked when I said that and asked, “You really brought a turkey dinner for us.”
I said, “Yes, Jesus Christ said that you guys would be hungry.” They invited me in with the the turkey. They were excited like little kids in a candy store when they realized that they were going to get to eat. I asked some of the guys to help me go out and get the rest of the pies and drinks. The leader immediately sent some of the men to help me. Some of the gang members were just getting out bed and they were shocked to see a stranger in the house. This is something that gangs do not do.
As we set down the down to eat, I begin carving the turkey and handing out the meat. Everybody grabbed a plate and beginning to self-serve on the mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy and the other fixings that they provided. As everybody continued to eat, I read the scriptures Jeremiah 29:11 and John 3:16 to them. All of the gangs that I fed today had some men who had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ before. I was surprised on how many of the men could quote John 3:16 and Jeremiah 29:11 to me. Abusive fathers made these boys run away from God. When the gangs began seeing and tasting all the good food they began talking amongst themselves about traditions they had at home. As each gang member shared, they became more homesick. Soon the leader began to question why he was here and was thinking about going back home. Almost everybody in the gang had what they call a poor relationship with their dad’s. Most of them were abusive because of alcoholism and drugs. So many of them ran away. This leader was gone from home for over five years. He began to call home and his dad answered the phone. He began talking with his dad for a while. Meanwhile the rest of the gang were having the same thoughts about going home and they too began calling home. But they all said, “You know Sonny, we want our hearts right with Jesus Christ before we go home. We don’t want to go back with angry hearts.”
So the gang started giving their lives to Jesus Christ as I prayed for them. The leader came back out and said, “Sonny, when I was talking to my dad he was an entirely different person. I’ve decided that I want to go home. I don’t want this life anymore. He started to share what he was about to do with his men, but they said, “We already are starting to give our lives over to Jesus Christ now.”
So I pray for all of them as they asked for forgiveness of
their sins and God began transforming their hearts. Some of them began to cry and others began to shake and asked, “What’s happening to me?”
I said, “Jesus Christ is transforming your hearts as you asked him to.”
Soon family members started showing up and picking up their sons. I could not stay long because I had to go to the next gang.
The second gang was exactly the same as the first. They were more curious than they were anxious and they were wondering what I was up to. They were a carbon copy of the first gang. Again while they were eating they started sharing things about what they did on Thanksgiving day and they all began to want to go home but they too wanted to transform their hearts for Jesus Christ before they went back.
The third gang had the most men in it. The leader was a little bit more cautious but he was still was excited when I brought a turkey dinner up to the door. He was anxious to let me in but said, “You can come in but do not try anything funny.”
I said, “I have a turkey in my hands and I am here all by myself what could I really do. I did bring the Kingdom of God with me though.” That gave them something to think about.
They too like the first two gangs as I served them and they begin eating they too began thinking about family traditions and going home. What was so unusual about this third gang was there were some Mexicanos in this gang. One of the men shared, “I remember when my mom made these tamales for us on Thanksgiving growing up. I sure do miss those things.”
I said, “I don’t think I have any of those but let me check to see what else I’ve got.” I started checking and was digging down in the box and I picked up something that was wrapped in aluminum foil. He looked inside and began smiling. He said, “These are tamales. Thank you Sonny.”
I remember that this family asked me what kind of people were in these gangs. I told him that there were some Mexicanos in this last gang. They totally understood the culture and immediately made some tamales for those men.
All three gangs gave their lives to Jesus Christ that day. Almost every one of the Dad’s that abused their sons began to change their lives the minute their sons left. They all quit drinking and taking drugs and they had a special place for Jesus Christ in their hearts. I was thinking what it must be like for their sons to be sleeping in their own beds tonight. Many of these bedrooms were left exactly the way they were when their sons ran away. The mature Christian parents of their sons helped the other parents to find places to go to church and youth groups to develop their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
When I arrived at the King Sooper store, thirty families were meeting again in the parking lot. The families were taking turns praying for the two new families. Lydia from the first family that Blue Mustang blessed was in there with her Bible praying with them as she always does.
Lydia’s family has been instrumental in searching the neighborhood for new families. They introduced themselves and ask how things are going. When they find families that need groceries they asked them to come on Saturday to expect a miracle. These families that came today are related to each other by brother and sister. Lately there has been a large number of the families who have already been blessed who are coming together not only to worship the Lord but to encourage the new families. There is such a bond that these families have for one another. This is the way God would have us all be.
Lydia began praying and anointing the two shopping carts by them that God would fill them. I continued to watch as they prayed and worshiped God. When it was time to go in Lydia was the first one to spot me. She always gives me a warm welcome. When it became time to hand out the money neither one of the families knew what I was about to give them. The families never reveal what I give to each family. We always give three fifties which represent the father, the son and the Holy Spirit and a $20 bill to cover inflation. We always make them laugh and it is pretty cool as you lay the money on their hands saying this is the father, this is the son and this is the Holy Spirit and this twenty is for inflation. They usually smile then they began to cry when they realize that they are now going to have enough money to buy groceries. This definitely restores the faith of these new families. I would not be surprised these guys will be here next week supporting the new families.
As I was about to finish up a gang appeared in the parking lot. I walked over to them because I did not want to have them cause problems with the families. As I got closer to them, the leader asked, “Are you Sonny? They said you drive a red monster truck and we thought we saw it parked here.”
I told him that I was Sonny. He then asked, “Could you pray for us?”
While this was all going on the families were listening. And as I got ready to pray for them the families began to surround the young men and wanted to pray for them also. At first the gang was wondering what was going on but the families shared, “We heard that you want to be prayed for and we want to pray for you also.”
Lydia up with her infinite wisdom asked the leader, “Would like your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.” She paused to give them
time to think. She then said, “You know it’s almost Thanksgiving. I bet your folks would love it if you would come home and celebrate Thanksgiving with them.”
When she mentioned Thanksgiving that jerked an emotion in these men and many of them began to cry. They said, “We do want to go home.” Lydia began leading these men to accept Jesus Christ.
What is so interesting about this is that if we were not obedient to God, I would not have been there. Not only would the families not be blessed but this gang would have missed out on an opportunity to give their hearts to Jesus Christ. It is important to remember that when we serve God, we do make a difference. But we also need to realize that without God and the Holy Spirit to change people’s hearts we would not be effective at all. So we always need to realize that we are just a catalyst to make things happen. God gets the Glory and the Victory but man do I get to see it. Listen to the complete story:
