Plastic Grocery Bag Blessing

My King had me go to the ghetto King Sooper store today. When I arrived at the parking lot God said, “Sonny, you need to walk to the back of the store.” There is an alley on the backside of the store. When I reached the back I noticed a family holding those plastic King Soopers bags. They were empty but they had them open. The families consisted of two boys, three girls and their parents. All of them had their eyes closed and they were praying.

The husbands prayed first and said, “Lord, you know that we don’t have any groceries. We are here at a grocery store. You said that when two or more are gathered and are praying in your midst that you would be there. You know that we are hungry. Would you do a miracle? We need something.”

The little girl Jasmine said, “You know that I love cereal and you know I love cookies. I just want cereal, milk and cookies. Please, I have been craving cookies really bad.” After she prayed this each one of the kids started praying. One of them said, “I want a baloney sandwich.” One of the boys said, “I love salads.”( I thought that was unusual to hear that from a boy.) Another one said, “I am getting tired of eating toast and peanut butter. But thank you that we at least have that.”

I continued to listen to them pray. I did not want to interrupt them at all because they are praying to God. They sure were pouring their hearts out to Him. They were crying as they prayed. After they finished praying they said, “We are thankful for what You are going to do.”

They looked over and they saw me standing there with my Bible. They then asked me how long I had been standing there?

I said, “I heard all your prayers. They were beautiful. They are special especially when they come directly from your heart. God knows you and He knows your heart’s desires.” I paused for a moment and then said, “Number one: my King has given a ministry to a guy who we call Blue Mustang. He gives me money to bless people like you so you can buy groceries.” As I continue to explain about Blue Mustang and Terry Bird praying for the ministry, I had to explain to the kids that Blue Mustang was not really a car, but I always let them think that Terry Bird is Big Birds little brother.

They then asked, “God brought you here just for us?”

I replied, “Blue Mustang gives $140 to each family to go buy groceries.” At this moment I could hear a door squeaking. The new manager was beginning to walk out and began listening to what I had to say. I then handed them the money and said, “Let’s go inside the store and get what you need but not what you want.” The manager then spoke up and said, “You know what; why don’t you guys also get what you want. I will take care of the bill.”

You see God has already multiplied the money for the family. A girl that worked there also came out. This is a blessed store because they believe in serving people.

We went in side the store and began shopping. The manager confirmed again that he wanted them to also get what they want and not just what they needed. After the families got all their groceries and came to the checkout line, the manager paid for everything. He then said, “Use the money that Blue Mustang gave you to buy gas or other things.”

We then went outside after the manager paid for the groceries. As we walked towards my pickup the families began to anoint my pickup from front to back including all four tires. They also prayed that no bullets would hit it, nobody would harm it and that God would protect me wherever He takes me.

Jasmine then said, “Mom, I need to give this anointing oil to Blue Mustang.” Jasmine then handed me the jar of anointing oil. Jasmine then said, “Give this to Blue Mustang so he can anoint his truck too.”

Both of the sisters carry jars of anointing oil. These jars looked like they could’ve come from jelly containers. It looks like they made their own jam and use them to store oil in them afterwards. So these jars have a story behind them.

I put my tailgate down to sit while I was talking to them about Jesus and started handing some water out. Three homeless guys then walked up and noticed one of the dad’s. One of the homeless guys said, “Jerome, I see that you got groceries today.”

Jerome then said, “Yes we did. Are you guys hungry?”

The homeless guys replied, “Yes, we are. We haven’t eaten in a couple of days.”

Jasmine said, “You want some bologna sandwiches?” The homeless guys smiled while nodding their heads. So the families started making bologna sandwiches on the back of my tailgate. The families laid out the works. They put out mustard, mayonnaise, pickles, onions, lettuce, bread and the baloney so these guys could make an awesome sandwich. They even had Fritos and Cheetos to go with their sandwiches.

Jasmine then whispered something to her sister and her sister agreed. Jasmine then asked, “Can we use that other jar of anointing oil? We want to pray over these guys.”

The sisters then said, “Sonny could you lead us in prayer over them?” I prayed for these guys and for their salvation.

Jasmine then asked, “Do you guys want your names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life?”

The guys replied, “You know, nothing else is working out. Maybe we should do that.” As soon as they were anointed and prayed over they began crying out of control.

One of the little boys whose name was Isaiah has not said a word all the time while I was here, but now he spoke up and said, “Jesus loves you. What you see here is temporary, but Jesus Christ is eternal.”

I was flabbergasted at what came out of this small boy’s mouth. I never expected to hear something so powerful from somebody so small. All of the children came around these homeless guys and began hugging them and began showing them love. The moms continued making more sandwiches for them. Soon all the baloney and the bread was gone. This did not matter even though these families had nothing. They shared their blessing that they had received with these homeless guys. They gave what they had. I began crying as all of this was happening. I came up to these homeless guys and prayed over them again.

While I was doing this two of the girls who worked at the store came out with two more loaves of bread, four packages of cheese and four packages of baloney to replace what they used up. They were watching everything that the families were doing for these homeless guys. It is always amazing that when we demonstrate love to other people by giving, others see this. In turn those people want to do the same thing, turning a small blessing into a large one. If you do not do what God asks of you, it can affect the destiny of many people. The ghetto has a special place in my heart for these people and I anxiously await to be able to come back here again.

Balloon Blessing

It was Saturday morning and I went to the King Soopers store in the ghetto. I pulled into the parking lot but nobody was there. The only two cars that were there belonged to the employees that work there. I was sitting there and my mind began to wonder. I began to think, “Did I come to the right place? Lord, there’s nobody here but the workers.”

God said, “Just wait. Be patient.” I continued to watch then I noticed a family coming with a King Soopers cart. Another family behind them was pushing a cart also. I said to myself this has to be them. They must not live very far away from here to be pushing those carts. Soon they stopped. They had helium balloons tied to each cart. Both of the families and their kids placed their hands on the balloons and began praying over them. I quietly said, “What in the world is going on? Who would ever pray over a balloon.” I did not understand and God had not revealed anything to me yet. I continued to wait and watch as they prayed over their balloons. Soon they finished and they release their balloons into the atmosphere.

I looked up and said, “Lord, these are weird families.”

God immediately replied, “No, wait till you hear what they have to say.”

I grabbed my Bible and walked over there to greet them. I said, “Good morning! How are you guys doing?”

The families replied, “We are doing pretty well but we are needing a miracle. Both our families do. This is my brother. We are really hungry.”

I have to ask, “Why were you praying for those balloons. I watched you as you prayed over them.”

The dad said, “We have this helium bottle that we use to fill up balloons on our kids birthdays. Before we filled the balloons, we put notes in each of the balloons. On the notes it said, “Dear Lord, we need food today.” We then placed the notes in the balloons and sent them up to God. Both me and my brother anointed the balloons before we release them. We did this for our kids.”

The daughter Jasmine spoke up and said, “We thought that if we sent the balloons up to heaven that God would grab them and read the note that’s inside.”

I said, “That is a good prayer request to have God grab it. You notice that you cannot see those balloons anymore.” They began staring up into the sky trying to get a glimpse of anything. I then said “God has already grabbed them. He read your notes and He sent me here before you even sent them up.”

The families then asked, “What does that mean?” Jasmine looked at me with wide eyes and exclaimed, “Does that mean that you are the miracle?”

I said, “Yes, I am part of the miracle.”

Jasmine then replied, “But you are a human being. How can that bring us food?” Jasmine was a talker and I again explained what was happening. I said, “God hears your prayers. He is faithful. He even says that He is faithful. Second you have to know who Blue Mustang is.”

As usual the kids always wonder how a car can talk. I just wish I had a dollar for every time they asked this question I’d be very well-to-do. I then explained to her that he got his name from the Latinos and he drives a Blue Mustang. The kids replied, “That is so cool that Blue Mustang drives a Blue Mustang.” By now the families were also beginning to laugh. Now the kids were confused and asked what this Blue Mustang has to do with the miracle?”

I said, “God has put it in Blue Mustang’s heart to give $140 to each family so they could buy groceries. The money is not to be used for smokes or beer but is used entirely for families who are hungry.”

Jasmine said, “I finally get some cookies.” I then reached into my wallet and pulled out the money and gave each family $140. They began to cry. I said, “Let’s pray over this money so you can buy groceries. The families took each bill and anointed it. One of the dads anointed his hands before he anointed the bills. The other brother prayed over the money while this brother anointed the bills. I began to cry as they did this.

After they finished praying I asked, “Why did you anoint the money?” The brother said, “I want this money that Blue Mustang gave us to be anointed. It must’ve been anointed already because it came here. But we want to anoint it so that God will give him a thousandfold.”

Jasmine then asked, “Does that mean that we are anointed by God?”

Jasmine’s mom, Dorothy, said, “Yes, you are anointed by God! You belong to Him.”

One of the girl employees in the store was watching from a window as everything was going on. I could tell she was saying something. I could see her lips move with the other employees. I’m sure that she was saying that Sonny is back. When we went into the store the girls greeted us at the door. Even though the doors were automatic they wanted to make sure it looked special. They said “Welcome to King Soopers. Our store belongs to God.”

You may have problems visualizing what this store faces. Try to envision a place where a tornado has gone through and devastated the neighborhood. This store was then placed in the middle of it. Everything around it looks really bad. It is so dangerous here that you cannot even go outside at night. You need to be sent by God or you may never walk out of here alive. I even heard a lot of yelling and some shooting going on while I was talking to the families. These kids are growing up in this environment.

The girls then said, “Hi Mr. Sonny. Did you bring some more blessings to our store? ” I confirmed that I did. One of the other girls spoke up and said, “It is because of Blue Mustang and God. Sonny is just the messenger. He is the deliver and he brings blessing to the families.”

The manager then came up rubbing his hands together and said, “Yes, we get to bless more families today!” The manager then headed over to grab a grocery cart and took off.

The families started making a grocery list of the things they needed.

The girl employees then asked, “Can we see your list?” They looked over the lists and took a picture of them with their cell phones. Two of them took off but the rest of them hung around with the kids.

Jasmine grabbed my hand and we headed off to go grocery shopping. The daughter Elizabeth has not said a word all the time while I was there. She said, “This is like having Christmas. God has answered our prayer when He grabbed our balloons.”

I began thinking to myself what would it be like when those balloons came down and people would see those notes inside. We continued shopping until the families had everything they needed. When we started out to the checkout line the other two girls with the grocery carts had everything duplicated in their carts. They said, “We are buying these groceries for you.”

I am totally amazed on how these girls time after time continue to bless people. They live in an area where there is not much in the terms of finances. They take what they get and they still want to give what little they have to bless other families. After we finished paying for the groceries we all headed back outside.

Jasmine looked at me and said, “Could you get down on your knees. I want to anoint you and pray over you.”

I immediately got down on my knees. Before my knees reached the pavement I placed one of my hoodies on the ground. There is glass all over the parking lot.

She then anointed me. When she started praying she said, “Dear Lord, I pray for Blue Mustang and I also pray for Sonny to bless them a thousandfold like my mom and dad said and keep Sonny safe from all the gangs that shoot at each other.”

Man that was quite a prayer coming from a seven-year-old. She came up to me and gave me a big hug and kissed me on the nose. She then said, “You are now anointed, now go out and save the world.”

Trashcan to Grocery Cart Blessing

It is Saturday and my King had me go back to the King Soopers store in the ghetto. As I parked my pickup God told me to immediately get out of my pickup. I grabbed my Bible and just began walking. I had no idea where I was walking to. God then said, “Sonny, walk around the building.” There were two kids in the back. A boy and a girl were both sitting in two grocery carts. Two families were holding hands around those grocery carts praying. After the parents prayed the little boy Stephen asked to pray. His dad asked, “Are you sure you want to do that Stephen?”

Stephen said, “I have never prayed out loud before but I want to try it. I am going to start like you always do.” He paused for a moment then prayed, “Our Father who art in heaven please hear our prayer. We need a miracle. We are hungry and we need food. I am tired of eating food from the trashcan.” I immediately began crying as he said that. That just pierces ones heart when you see kids suffering like that. He continued praying and said, “I shouldn’t complain Lord because even in the trashcan you provided food for us to eat. I should not complain about that. But we still need a miracle because I need some cereal. I want some fresh milk. Could you please just answer our prayer. Father continue to help us walk by faith and not by sight. We have faith in you that you will provide in Jesus name. Amen!”

This prayer was made by a seven-year-old boy. Again, I am sure his parents are responsible for teaching him how to pray. His whole family knew how to pray. Stephen’s dad then spoke and said, “We are praying for a miracle but whatever your will is today just let it be done according to your will. We also ask this In Jesus’s name. Amen!”

Their little girl said, “My brother forgot that we were supposed to pray for cookies too.” I was about three car lengths from them when she finished praying.

One of the moms began praying and said “Whatever this man behind us has for us let us accept it with all of our hearts in Jesus name. Amen!”

What was interesting about this was her back was always toward me. She never looked at me once. But she knew that I was behind her. The Holy Spirit was prompting her. She turned around and said, “While I was praying the Holy Spirit said that there is a man standing behind me that is bringing you good news today.”

I said to myself, “That is God and that is exactly how he works.”

I replied, “First of all I want to thank the Lord for bringing me here today. Second, I want to thank God for Blue Mustang. He has a ministry to bless families just like you. He gives me money for the families but God brings me right to them. God knew your prayer even before you prayed it. He knew that you were going to be here even before you knew that you were coming here. He even knew that you would be praying over your kids in the grocery cart.”

Samuel said, “I climbed into the cart while we were praying because this is where I am supposed to be.”

I replied, “That is a powerful message. If I pray for the gang members inside my truck they will never hear me. I need to go into the park where they are at.”

Samuel then said, “You minister to gangs? Oh my goodness you are a brave man.”

I said, “It is only because of God that I am able to do this.”

Their little five year old girl then asked, “Did God tell Blue Mustang to buy us cookies.” I confirmed that it was true. She then replied, “I did not know that cars could talk.”

I said, “Blue Mustang is a man of God and we eat breakfast every Saturday morning with Terry Bird. We talk about the day. Then we pray for the coming events.”

She then said, “You meet with all the characters from Sesame Street. Is Terry Bird Big Bird’s little brother or big brother?”

I replied, “I think that he is his little brother.”

She then exclaimed, “Wow! Does he have yellow feathers too?” She then jumped out of the grocery cart into my arms where I held her and she soon fell asleep. These people were total strangers and I have never met them in my life.

Her dad then looked at me and said “She does not do that with total strangers.

His wife Martha then said, “He is not a stranger, he is part of the family of God.”

The manager then came out the back door. He had a grocery cart full of fruit they were going to throw away. The fruit was still good but it was just to the point where people wouldn’t buy it. He said “Joseph, this is your fruit. I have put it aside and this is the best stuff. The other stuff I had to throw away.”

The little girl then asked “Are there any cookies in there?”

The manager confirmed that there wasn’t. They immediately loaded the fruit into their van and came back.

One kid whose name is Isaac then asked, “How much money are we getting? Because mom said that we were going to be getting money for groceries.”

I replied, “Each family gets $140.” Isaac then covered his eyes and said, “We are millionaires.”

The manager overheard us talking and asked, “Who is Blue Mustang?”

This was a new manager as the old manager Jerome retired. I then explained to him everything about Blue Mustang.

The manager then said, “If he gives $140 to each family I am going to match that.” He then looked at the families and said “Why don’t you guys come into the store and buy some groceries? You buy whatever you need and what you want. From now on I will always make sure that you have food.”

Both families began crying after what the manager did for them. Their other little girl has not said anything to me but she came over and said, “I think that I love you. Could you be my uncle?”

I said, ” Yeah, that would be cool. What is your name?”

She replied, “My name is Susie Q”.

I repeated, “Susie Q.”

She said, “Yeah, they got my name from some song.” From then on she would not stop talking.

I then asked, “What is your favorite Bible verse?”

She replied, “Psalms 91. My grandma reads that one to me all the time.”

The families kids are being raised right even at that young age they are beginning to know the word of God. They knew how to stand in faith. They prayed in faith. They also knew that God was going to provide. One thing I’ve noticed about the people in the ghetto is they don’t have a lot, but with God they have everything. If I would’ve given one of them half of my breakfast sandwich I had this morning they would’ve been ecstatic to receive it. They are so thankful. If I would offer someone someplace else the same offer they would tell me I don’t need that.

Jerome left a legacy at that store to help families. God loves these people and he will bring.

Dumpster Blessing

It is Saturday and I began heading down to the King Soopers store in the ghetto. When I pulled into the parking lot I began looking around for the families. God then said, “Sonny, they are in the back.” I decided to park my pickup and just to walk back there with my Bible. When I arrived at the back of the store I noticed two families on their knees praying. They were real close to one of the dumpsters. You can tell that they had been picking some of the better fruit and vegetables out of the dumpsters. I continued listening to them pray and just waited until they were finished.

They prayed, “Lord we need food and we need groceries. We are starving and you are our provider. We rest everything on you.”

One of the small kids named Susie asked, “Mom, please ask God to give us some cereal because I want some cereal.”

The parents then continued praying and finally they said Amen. They then stood up and turned around and that is when they saw me. One family asked, “You must be a preacher because you have the word of God with you.”

I said, “Yes, I minister out on the streets.”

They then said, “You are definitely out on the streets. That’s where we are also.”

Susie then ran over to me and began hugging me. Nobody here knew me and I did not say anything else. She then said, “Thanks for being near by. We are praying for a miracle.”

I said, “You guys must be very hungry to be back here.”

They replied, “We have already dug out the good fruit and vegetables.”

As they finished explaining to me, the manager then came out and prayed with us. He then said, “From this day forth I am going to put all of the fruit in boxes so that you do not have to dig through the dumpsters.”

The manager realized he had not greeted me yet today and said, “Oh, Hi there Sonny!” The manager then walked back into the store.

Susie then said, “Could you pray for us because we need a miracle?” Both families were focused on receiving a miracle. I replied, “God is a God of miracles. He can shift things that nobody can shift. He has never left you. He hears your heart even before you speak. He knows all. Let me explain to you who God is. Do you really know him? We do not serve a little God but we serve a big God.”

The families then said, “Yes, we know God. We love him and we trust him. He told us to come back here to get the fruit that we needed and to wait for a miracle.” They already were waiting in the alley by a trashcan. They were going to wait there all day and do what ever it took.

I then said, “Well, let me tell you about Blue Mustang and the ministry that God has given him for families like you.” Of course Susie could not let that go. I explained to her that he got that nickname from the Latinos because he drives a Blue Mustang.

Susie then said, “Wow, that is so cool!” She figured it out quickly and I told her that she’s pretty smart. She then said, “Yes I know. It is all because of Jesus.”

I then asked the families if they’ve all been baptized in the Holy Spirit. Her older brother Samuel spoke up and said, “I have and I started speaking in tongues right away and it scared me and I ran out of church. My parents went out to get me and brought me back into the church. The pastor then asked me to close in prayer. When I did it I was speaking in tongues the entire time. I have no idea what I even said.”

I replied, “Samuel, that was beautiful. Jesus knew every word that you said.”

Samuel then said, “It is cool that you are here. Can I pray for you?”

I still have not given anybody any money or anything else up to this time.  We have just been talking. In this ministry God has warned me about people touching me. If someone who is demonic or has a demonic spirit in them touches me, it could transfer into my body. So I have to be very careful when someone touches me. The Holy Spirit confirmed that it would be okay for Samuel to pray for me. Samuel then found a box and brought it over by me so he could stand on it. He wanted to put his hand on top of my head. The minute he started praying he went off speaking in tongues. Samuel is really anointed. When Samuel said Amen he replied,” I do not know what I said but Jesus knows every word I spoke. It is exactly what you needed.”

I then asked Samuel if I could pray for him. I began praying for him and his family and the Holy Spirit took over and I began speaking in tongues over them. Samuel said,” I love it when other people speak in tongues because it is from heaven. That’s a heavenly language.”

One of the wives whose name was Rachel asked, “So Blue Mustang gives money to families to buy groceries.”

I confirmed that it was true.

She then said, “Do you want to see our grocery list?”

I told her that I was interested in seeing it. On that list was a loaf of bread, baloney, and cheese. That was everything on the list. I then asked, “You guys must like baloney.”

Rachel replied, “Not really but it is cheap.”

I then said, “Blue Mustang gives $140 for each family.” At that moment they all began crying.

Susie then spoke up and said, “That means we are getting cereal. Now I want to pray for you.”

She began praying for Blue Mustang that God would bless him 100 fold and bless me. She finished up by praying, “God do not let the world go hungry.” Man these kids sure do know how to pray. Their parents must be teaching them right.

The parents continued to cry because they were down to nothing. Both of the husbands work for the same company and it laid them off because they shut down completely and unemployment is running out. They were having difficulty finding jobs that would support their families. I then gave them the money and Susie asked me if I wanted to go shopping with her.

I told her that I would love to go shopping with her.

One of the girl employees came out of the door with some trash. She looked at the families and pointed at me. She asked, “Are you going to go grocery shopping now? Because I recognize that man there. That man brings miracles to this place.”

I reminded her that it was through Jesus Christ.

She then replied, “I know that!” She then invited us to come through her door to save us from walking around the store. She let us through the back of the store and grabbed a couple of carts for the families.

What was really cool about walking through the back of the store I spotted the rest of the teenagers holding hands in a circle. I feel that they were praying for us. We began shopping and Susie continued holding my hand. She would not let go the entire time.

Susie then said, “You know what is happening today, sure does help our faith. Mom always talks about having faith. She would say we need to walk by faith and not by sight.”

I then said, “You are right. This is all temporary what you are seeing. Jesus Christ is eternal.” I continue to talk with everybody as we shopped and we finally finished up. We went to check out. They started ringing up the bill for each family and when it came time to pay the teenage girls working there pull out their cards and paid for the groceries. They then looked at the families and said, “You can use that money for something else even if it is to get an ice cream cone.”

This store is amazing and I know it’s anointed but if you leave something in the back of your vehicle it will be gone before you could come back. Many times I come out of this store and I will notice guys eyeing my pickup. One guy once said, “Those are nice wheels. You should not leave it sitting here.”

I replied, “I know it is a temptation for you guys but Jesus Christ protects that truck. It is anointed by God.” You should see the expressions change on their faces. He then sheepishly replied, “I will see you around.” They then hightailed it out of there as fast as they could.”

I continued speaking with the families and reminded them that everything that happened today was from God. I am just Sonny.

Rachel then said, “No, you’re not just Sonny. You are a man of God.”

My King will be bringing me back to the ghetto.

Mom and Pop Store Blessing

It is Saturday and my King had me drive south of the ghetto. I arrived at what you would call the mom-and-pop grocery store. It looked like it has been here forever. God said to be here because there will be families. These families had been using a line of credit and the store will not let them proceed further.

I was sitting there and praying. There were only two cars in the parking lot. They belonged to the people who work there. Because of the size of the store I was beginning to wonder if anybody would show up. As usual God said, “Wait, they will be showing up.” So I continued to pray for these families that were going to show up. I then thanked God for the day. Soon I heard a knock on my passenger side door. I then looked in my mirror and I could see that there was a little girl standing there. I then climbed out of my pickup and went around to see what she wanted. When I made eye contact with her she said, “I just read what you have on your door. You have Isaiah 41:10 written on your door. My grandma has a plaque in her living room that has that verse on it.” She began quoting that scripture to me. She then said, “I just love that verse. Are you a preacher?”

I replied, “I minister to gangs on the streets.”

She then asked, “Can you come and pray for my parents? They need more faith.”

I told her that I would. I picked my Bible up off the seat of my pickup and brought it with me. She began walking me to the south side of the store. Her parents were sitting at a picnic table. They then asked, “Where did you go Susan?”

Susan began pointing and replied, “I saw this big monster truck over there and I wanted to go look at it. He had the scripture that grandma has in her living room on his pickup. He has Isaiah 41:10 on his pickup door. I then asked him to come here and pray with you because you need more faith.”

I then asked, “How can I pray for you guys?”

A mom reached into her purse and pulled up a piece of paper that was folded in half. She then handed it to me and said, “You can pray for that.” I knew that it was a grocery list without even opening it up. Instead of putting my hand on the list, I physically placed God’s word right on top of it. I began praying over it and the mom began to cry.

Her sister then came with her husband and two little boys. They asked, “Are you a minister? We need a miracle. We are barely making it. Right now we are living paycheck to paycheck. And sometimes we have moments like this where we cannot buy anything.”

I asked, “So both of you families are here for miracle to buy groceries? And now you don’t have any money.” I paused a bit, then said, “I want to tell you what God is doing through blue Mustang…”

One of her sons interrupted and asked, “You talk to a car! Why do you talk to a car?”

I said, “No, it’s a man. A gang called the “Latinos” gave him that nickname.” The little boy then replied, “Oh! so it’s a person that drives a blue Mustang?”

I then explained, “If God gives you a ministry and you don’t follow through with it then people won’t get blessed. I have found out that God will cause a ripple effect when you do what you are told.”

While I was talking to both families this huge 1964 Buick pulls up to us. An older couple climbed out of the car. They were the sisters parents. They said, “We stopped at both of your homes and you were not there.  We figured that you would be over here. We got our income tax back and we want to pay off your bill at the store. We know that you have a bill here and we want to pay it off.”

They then looked at me and asked, “Who is this man?”

I introduced myself and the little boy asked me to tell them about Blue Mustang. So I told them about who blue Mustang was. So the father then asked, “So Blue Mustang helps families who are hungry? He gives them money to buy groceries?”

I said, “Yes, that is why I am here.”

He then said, “These are my daughter’s. Sometimes we can help them and sometimes we cannot.”

Susan then asked, “How much are we getting blessed with?”

I replied,  “I give $140 to each family so they can buy groceries.” Both husbands started crying after I said this.

Susie exclaimed, “That means that I get to have cereal. I have been craving cereal all week long.”

One of the husbands whose name was Ishmael said, “I want to pray for Blue Mustang.” He began praying for Blue Mustang and his family. He then immediately began praying for me and the ministry that God gave me. He then prayed for his father-in-law still standing by me.

The mom said, “If Blue Mustang has a ministry like that, God is going to bless him a thousand fold.”

These people understand the blessings of God. I said, “He does it to bless other people.”

She replied, “That is true. But God sees his heart and it is beautiful.” She then prayed that God would bless Blue Mustang a thousand fold before May 7.” This is the first time I ever had somebody pray with the date in it. I then handed them the money and they began crying.

One of the other little girls then asked, “So does that mean we get to have groceries today.”

I confirmed that it was so.

She then said, “Thank you Lord and thank you Blue Mustang.” She then asked, “Do you know anybody else who has cool names?”

I replied, “Yes, there’s Terry Bird.”

She then exclaimed, “Is he related to Big Bird?”

I played along with her and said, “Yes.”

Their dad went inside to pay the bill.

The gentleman that owned the store said,  “Their bill is already paid off. I received my income tax money and God told me to invest it in families. I picked seven families to cancel their bills. Yours was one of them.”

The sisters dad then asked, “How much money did my daughter’s owe?”

The owner replied, “Between both of them they owed about $150.”

This was not a lot, but how many stores would give you any credit? The families were even more amazed that God took care of their bill. God is faithful.

Susan said, “I am going to go get the cereal.” After the families picked up the groceries they wanted we went to check out. The owner of the store began praying out loud for the families and their parents.

After we left the store we headed back to my pickup. I noticed three homeless guys standing around it. One of them looked at me and asked what does that verse say on the door?”

Before I could say a word, Susan began quoting the verse Isaiah 41:10 to them. She then asked, “Are you guys hungry?”

They confirmed they were. Immediately Susan reached into their grocery bag and pulled out the loaf of bread, peanut butter and jelly. I put my tailgate down and she climbed up on it and began making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The parents did nothing to stop her because they knew God well enough that it was only right to help them out. The parents stepped right in and started pouring them something to drink. They all realized the importance of giving to others.

The families were praying for a miracle and not only got blessed by Blue Mustang but the owner of the store paid off their credit so that their parents would not have to. They showed me their grocery list at the end and they only had three items on it. One small mustard, one small mayonnaise, baloney and bread. That was all they were planning on getting. Even with that small list that was impossible for them to pull off. They did not feel it was right to put more stuff on credit at this store. That is the reason why they were praying for a miracle.

The owner himself shared with me that there were 15 other people in the store who had credit. He said, “This Christmas I am going to bless them with gift cards so they can continue shopping here.” The owner definitely had a heart for people. I know that God will send me  wherever families are praying even if it is at a Mom and Pop store.

Grocery Cart Anointing

It was a cold Saturday morning and I headed towards the ghetto after I had breakfast with Blue Mustang. I drove by a park in the ghetto area and I noticed this family that was praying. What was unusual about this was that they were praying by a King Soopers grocery cart. I noticed that only one family was praying. My King knew that I was puzzled and I was getting ready to go over and talk to them. God said, “Sonny, just wait to see what happens.”

I was beginning to think that wasn’t the family because God always has been bringing two families to me. So I continued to wait as my King instructed. The weather was still cold outside and I checked the time and it was 10:45 AM. I then noticed a van pull up by the family. A family of four got out of the van. They too started walking towards the grocery cart. The wife began reaching into her purse and pulled out this little bottle. I focused in on the bottle and finally made out that it was anointing oil. I began to realize that family went back to get a bottle of anointing oil. It appeared to me that the other family was waiting for someone to show up. They took that bottle of anointing oil and began to anoint that King Soopers grocery cart. Both families were looking for a miracle and that was the reason why they anointed that cart. They were then going to push that cart all the way back to King Soopers which was two blocks away.

I begin to think to myself who in the world would ever anoint a grocery cart unless you were really desperate. They would definitely have to be seeking a miracle from God. I found out later that God asked them to anoint that cart. I am sure that they did not go to the store and bring the cart to the park. Many times people who do not have cars will take the cart to deliver their groceries directly to their home. It is work to take them back so they just abandon them in the neighborhood. That cart was left near where they lived. I also know that whenever you anoint something that it will affect anybody who will happen to use that grocery cart.

After they finished anointing the cart, both families circled around the cart and began praying. My curiosity got the best of me. I said to myself that I want to hear what they are praying. So I quickly got out of my pickup with my Bible in hand and I walked towards them. God sometimes tells me to wait and let them finished praying but he was silent on this one. When I was close enough to hear, I slowed my pace to listen to what they were praying. They were thanking God for the meat and the bread. A little girl then spoke up and thanked God for the milk and cookies. They were thanking God for everything that was going into that empty cart. These guys had strong hearts and they definitely know how to pray. When I couldn’t get any closer, I just stood there to finish listening. They finally said “Amen” then the little girl looks toward me and said, “Well, Hi there stranger.” I responded back then she said, “My name is Sylvia.” I told her my name is Sonny. Sylvia then replied, “Are you a preacher?”

I said, “Only when I am awake. When I am asleep I have to rest.” Everyone in the families began laughing. I then asked, “How did this all come about?”

They replied, “In order for us to receive a miracle, we had to anoint everything about it. We anointed the prayer we made and we anointed the cart. We even anointed the food that’s not even in there yet.” These families were strong believers but they were waiting for a miracle.

They then asked, “How can we help you?”

I said, “Actually, I am here to help you. I noticed that you were standing around this grocery cart. I also notice that when the van pulled up with the anointing oil that you used on the grocery cart then you prayed over it. Why did you guys anoint that cart?”

One of the mom’s said, “So you been watching us for a while.”

I said, “Yes, I came here because of Blue Mustang wanting to bless two families.”

Before I could finish my thought, their six-year-old boy said, “But that’s a car! You came here just because of a car.”

I said, “No, Blue Mustang is a man. He got that nickname from the “Latino” gang from San Jose, California. They call him that because he drives a Blue Mustang.”

The six-year-old then exclaimed, “Well, that makes sense!”

I then continued, “God give him a heart to bless families like you. He gives $140 per family. God chooses two families every time. You guys are the two families. You prayed that God would fill this grocery cart up with groceries. He has answered your prayer.” I then handed each family $140.

Boy, you should hear them shout out “Glory to God” in that African-American style. They also said “Hallelujah” and began dancing. They did not pay any attention to who was looking as they were praising and giving Glory to God. This celebration went on for several minutes. When they finally stopped, I said, “God gave Blue Mustang a heart for this ministry for families who are hurting and need food. He has a heart for God’s Kingdom.”

When I said that one of the husband exclaimed, “That is my daily prayer that God would give me a heart for his Kingdom while I am still in this world.”

I then said, “Practice Matthew 6:33. When you seek God’s kingdom just like you are doing, he will give you that heart. He has showed you that He is faithful. Look at what just happened.”

Sylvia was getting impatient and asked, “Can we go buy groceries now because I am hungry? I need some cereal.”

Before they went shopping, they anointed the money and prayed over it. They then prayed over Blue Mustang and his family. Sylvia looked over at me and asked, “Are you going with us?”

I replied, “Yes, I would like to go. We can put that grocery cart in the back of my pickup so that you guys will not have to push it to the store.”

They replied, “That sounds like a good deal to us.” As they lifted the grocery cart into the back of my pickup, they noticed the speakers I had in the box. They asked, “Are those speakers in the back of your truck?”

I said, “Yes, I minister to gangs and the music brings the gangs to me. God knew this and had me set my pickup like this. Blue Mustang supported that to. He also buys the food that I then take to other people who prepare it. I then take the burritos or whatever else God has me pickup to the gangs.”

They then asked me if I worked and I told them I do. They thought it was pretty amazing that I could do this and still work. I told them to remember that God is amazing. Sylvia interjected, “Blue Mustang was amazing too because we are going to eat today.” Her five year old brother then said, “I want to be Blue Mustang because that is so cool.”

Realize that God can make us more efficient. We can still work and serve him. Many times we do things that are not productive and that time could be better used to serve God. Paul, one of the dads, and all four kids wanted to come with me in the monster truck to go to the grocery store. I started playing “Amazing Grace” on the sound system. Paul then said, “I don’t know if you’ve ever listened to Glenn Miller. I just love that type of big band music.” I did not say a word. I just got onto my phone and quickly switched the music to Glenn Miller. He looked at me and said, “You must play this quite a bit.”

I replied, “This is also my kind of music. I love Glenn Miller, Ardis Shaw and all those other big bands. But when I go to the gangs they hear a lot of boom. That is what brings them to me. So my pickup compliments a lot of base with the subwoofers. This all attracts those gang members to come to me. Like I said earlier, God orchestrated all of this on how to set up my pickup.”

Paul said, “You are a brave man. I need to pray for you.” So the families anointed and prayed over me.

Sylvia then asked for a note pad. Her mom gave her one with and pen. It looked like she tried to write something down but paused and said, “I do not know how to write down Blue Mustang.”

Her mom spelled it out for her and she tried to write down the letters. She then drew a car on the paper. She then said, “We need to anoint him. Can we we do it on the paper?” I started to cry as I began to see what she was trying to do. We then anointed Blue Mustang. We then entered King Soopers and began walking the aisles. I looked at Sylvia and asked, “What do you think about all this?”

Sylvia responded, “I have learned that God answers prayer.”

The other little girl asked, “Does God answer prayers every time?”

Her mom answered, “It is all in God’s timing. He answers prayer. It is for His Glory and not for ours.”

Sylvia then took off and immediately ran to the cereal aisle. She selected a box of Captain Crunch cereal. Sylvia said, “I love Captain Crunch cereal.” We continued shopping and went through the entire store but I never saw Jerome the store manager. The employees told me that he was on vacation. The girls working at the store secretly came up to me and and said that they were going to give each family $100 gift cards for food. The girls at work here are definitely very giving. They have lived in this ghetto area long enough to know what it’s like to be hurting. Finally everybody filled their shopping cart.

As they got into the checkout line to pay, it seemed like the entire staff came together and gave each family a $100 gift card. They said this is from us to bless you. The families began to cry when they experience that wonderful second blessing.

Sylvia fell in love with the girl that handed out the gift cards. She grabbed hold of her and gave her a big hug and started talking with her. She wanted to know her schedule so she could come by and see her again. Before Sylvia let go, she prayed for everybody from that store that was there. The way she prayed I feel someday she’s going to become an evangelist.

This all started when they anointed that grocery cart and having the faith that God would supply the food to put inside it. The anointing did not stop here. They continued by anointing me, the money and Blue Mustang via a sheet of paper. In the end they had enough of a blessing that they could go home and have cheeseburgers tonight. They still have money left over when they checked out.

The assistant manager came out and said, “Before you leave, meet me at the gas pump to fill up your cars.”

The families replied, “We only brought one vehicle the other one is at home.”

The manager then said, “Go home and get it and I will fill it up to.” The manager waited there at the pumps until they got back with the other vehicle to fill it.

Again they replied, “In order for us to receive a miracle we had to anoint everything about it. We anointed the prayer we made and we anointed the cart. We even anointed the food that’s not even in there yet.” These families were strong believers but they were waiting for a miracle.

There is more to this story that happened as we walked out of the store. I was still talking to the families when nine young men walk by carrying two basketballs. They were carrying something else but I could not tell what it was. It looked like it was made out of plastic and duct tape. They recognized the families but had no idea who I was. They felt like I might be harassing these families and began to threaten me. They said, “If this guy is bothering you, we will get rid of him for you even if we have to carry him out and throw him away.”

The families replied, “No, but he is actually blessing us. We did not have anything to eat and he has changed this.”

The families began to explain to me who these boys were and they liked to play basketball. The manager of the store will loan them his basketballs from time to time. If not, they were using newspaper wrapped in duct tape for their ball. They could not afford to buy a basketball of their own. I looked at the boys and asked, “Are you boys hungry?” They confirmed that they were. I then said, “I have breakfast burritos, cookies, and granola bars.” I set up all the food on the picnic tables there at the park and served them.

I then said, “You boys just stay here. I will be right back.” I headed down to the Walmart store to pick up some basketballs. I was going to pick up four basketballs for these guys. The manager of the store when he figured out what I was up to brought out 10 more basketballs. He said I am going to pay for 10 balls and you pay for the other four. I then load them up out in my pickup and I headed back to the park. I had food for them in my pickup. When I met up with these guys I told him that I had food for them to eat. They were excited about getting something to eat. I did not tell him about the balls right away. After they ate I went over to the passenger side of my pickup and opened the door. I said I need some help over here. One of the guys came over and looked inside my pickup and saw all the basketballs. He said man look at all them basketballs. Yeah I need them I said I need you to get them out here they are for you guys. They were so excited I swear they thought I was giving them $1 million dollars. I threw some of them out myself towards them. I was totally amazed on how well they could shoot. They were really excited at being able to play with real basketballs. There was an older couple who was watching while this was all going on and they came out. They shared, “We are on a fixed income and have been trying to save up so that we could get you guys some basketballs. Maybe we can get you some shoes instead.”

The boys were really excited about that. Even though it was cold they said, “Sonny we want to ride in the back of your truck.” So some of them just jumped in the cab with me and the rest of them climbed in the back. We went to one of those Famous Footwear stores and picked them up some shoes. The old couple bought five pairs and I bought the other four. We then went back to the park where are they played with their new basketballs and new shoes. Boy were they having fun.

During the following week the boys called me and thank me for the blessings I gave them. They said, “At first there were only nine of us playing basketball but we got more boys together because of the extra basketballs you gave us. Now there are twenty-four of us. Boy, basketball is fun now that we have teams and real basketballs to play with. Because of what you have done, we are now going back to youth group and getting actively involved in church again.”

Before they met me the nine boys were playing basketball using a branch as a hoop. Somebody went in there and built them a court. I am betting that God had something to do with it. They put in four basketball hoops. Even the surface was replaced with a nice slab of concrete. The boys said, “We came here to play basketball one day and there were 30 guys here working to put all this stuff in.” The boys continued telling me what they’ve been up to. They have been witnessing to other teenagers in the area. The Holy Spirit has given them courage to go out even at night. Because of the danger in the streets at night, they used to be afraid to go out after dark. But now they pray with people and have given 110 homeless people blankets. He then said,” When it was cold that week the homeless were freezing out there. We took them hot cocoa and hot cider to warm them up. We just kept driving around searching for people who were in need.”

It is cool how God has been using these nine boys who rededicated their lives to Jesus Christ. I have learned that any circumstance that happens in my life and here I get a chance to meet different people, I continue to share Jesus Christ with them and love them. Showing love and kindness to people has the potential of changing their world by bringing them into God’s Kingdom. That is one thing that Jesus commanded us to do – is go out to talk about him and bring them into His Kingdom. Boy, it sure is fun watching God work.

Ghetto Cemetery Blessing

It is Saturday morning and I am heading back down to Denver. I was getting ready to turn at the King Soopers in the ghetto. God then said, “No, keep going straight.” I did not question what God said and continued to drive straight. I went two blocks when God had me turn right. As I began heading south, I was beginning to drive by a cemetery and I noticed two families out there in the middle of the cemetery. God then said, “That is them.”

Now this really caught me off guard. It was hard to believe that someone would be praying for food in the cemetery. God knew that I was beginning to doubt him and said again, “It is them! Get going!”

I turned at the entrance of the cemetery and made sure that my music was not playing on the outside speakers. The families were knelt down in the gravel and snow praying. When I parked near them, they never even looked up. I waited until they stopped praying before I went up to them. When they finished praying they immediately looked in the direction where I parked. I grabbed my Bible and got out of my pickup. I then began walking towards them. The first thing I did was introduce myself. I said, “Good morning. God brought me here because he wants to answer your prayers.”

They then asked, “How do you know our prayers? Do you know what we were praying for?”

I replied, “No, but God does. So, why are you guys here?”

They said, “Our mom and dad are right here. We are brothers. Our parents had the biggest faith ever. We are not praying to them but we were praying that God would give us the faith our parents had. A lot of us do not look at faith as a ministry or part of religion. We think faith is what we are going to get today. It is up to God what else we are going to get.”

I said, “We have to continue to walk by faith and not by sight. If you look around, all these people here are not with us anymore. So they cannot make any choices. They either had a choice to walk by faith and not by sight or just to walk by sight. I walk by faith and not by sight. If I would walk by sight, I would be running all the time because of all the pistols that are pointed at me from the gangs .”

They exclaimed, “Really!”

I said, “I minister to gangs all over the United States. This is God’s ministry and he gets all the Glory for that. The other ministry God is having us do, was started by Blue Mustang to help families. I bet you are praying that God would give you a miracle in your finances so you could buy groceries. You guys are struggling right now. Both of you haven’t worked for a long time because the companies are not open still or they sold out.”

One said, “I was there for 19 years. My brother was there for 21 years. They sold out because of covid. Now we are all out of jobs.”

I then asked, “So you were praying for the same faith as your parents?”

They replied, “Yeah, we need faith. We need to keep our heads up. When God is calling us out, we want to walk it in faith. We do not want to look around and ask the question ‘Why do we want to do that?'”

I said “Your faith and prayer is the reason why I am here.”

One of the husbands asked, “So God brought you here to help us?”

I explained, “God did bring me here but Blue Mustang started this ministry. God has blessed him so that he can give money to help families. He does not like to see families struggling to buy food.”

The one husband’s daughter, Samantha, asked, “Blue Mustang! That is a car, right! How is it that a car can talk to you?” I began to chuckle as she responded to what I said. I am glad that God has a sense of humor. I think he enjoys kids asking questions and the excitement it brings to them.

I replied, “The Latino gang gave him that name. He is a Godly man that God has blessed so he can bless families that need food. You are chosen today to be blessed by God.”

Both of the wives began crying. (This is interesting – the wives are sisters while the husbands are brothers. They met at a Christian party. They all hit it off and became families.)

The brothers then said “We do miss our parents greatly. They taught us that we need to have that strong faith and to walk in it.”

Samantha asked, “Does that mean that I get to have double stuffed Oreo cookies today?”

I confirmed that she could.

She then said, “Can we go to the store now, because I am hungry?”

I know she was being truthful because they were all very hungry.

The wife, Linda, asked, “How much did Blue Mustang give us?”

I replied, “He gives $140 to each family.”

Linda said, “That will help us tremendously. We have filed for unemployment but we will not get paid until next week. We need to go by groceries right now.”

I said “There is a King Soopers right down the road from here.”

Linda replied, “Yes, I know exactly where it is. We live just nine blocks from it.”

I then gave them my ministry cards and the money. When I laid the money in their hands, they began crying and hugging me. They then prayed over Blue Mustang and me. I then prayed over each family.

Lisa then said, “I know that this is all from God. Why would anyone ever want to stop by a cemetery? People usually come here to put down flowers and to remember friends and family. People do not want to interfere while they are doing that. We are grateful God told you to come here.”

I said, “You are right. You were chosen by God because you were hungry. Your faith is the reason why I am here. The second reason is Blue Mustang’s wanting to bless families. Blue Mustang puts his faith in God knowing that God will always provide.”

Samantha exclaimed, “Why he is just like Santa Claus. But he is a Christian Santa Claus.” Samantha then looked me in the eyes and asked, “Do you want to go shopping with us?”

These kids are so cute and it is very difficult to say no to that. I confirmed to her that I would go to the store with her.

Her brother, Jerome, was looking at my pickup. He then said, “That is a cool monster truck.”

I said, “Maybe you should ask your dad if you can come with me to the store in my truck. I can follow the rest to your family to King Soopers.”

Jerome said, “That would be cool!”

His dad was all over that and said, “Let us get into your truck and go.”

They saw my stereo system and asked if I could play “Mercy Me – I Can Only Imagine”. I started the song playing. Then I flipped the switch to turn the outside speakers on. They were totally blown away by the sound that my stereo could make. I continued following the rest of the family to the store.

When we walked into the store, the manager was watching us. He began shaking his head as he began to realize what I was up to. Samantha took off running heading for the cookie aisle. She’s still had a hold of my hand and would not let go. I was being towed to the cookie aisle. Meanwhile, the manager went over and had a group huddle with all the kids that worked at the store. Because the store is in a dangerous part of town, it is not real busy in the morning so they could do that.

Samantha with cookies in hand then wanted to go get milk. But her mom, Julianna, said, “This is not the time to do that. We should wait till the end.”

I noticed that two of the girl employees each had a cart they were pushing. They were following close behind us and it appeared to me they were putting in similar items that we were getting. I found out later that the manager did tell those two girls to duplicate the things that these families were picking out. Both of the girls continued talking to each other trying not to make it obvious. The families were so excited to be able to get groceries that they were not paying any attention at all. One thing I did notice when they walked by the meat area they grab these huge tubes of hamburger for each of the families. These families both had plans of grilling cheeseburgers together after they finished shopping. Each family calculated everything they had in their cart to make sure they did not go over. The family split up and went into two different checkout lanes.

The girls that were following us did the same thing. They split up and went into their separate lanes behind the families. One dad turned around and looked at the girls cart behind him. He then turned around and looked at his own cart. He turned around again and looked back at the girl saying, “You have everything that we have in our carts.”

Leroy then said, “Wow! Look at that, sweetheart.”

Linda turned around to and said, “You do have everything that we have. Why this sure is funny!”

The other family noticed the same thing. Each family began putting their groceries on the conveyor belt. The girls did the same and mixed their stuff with the family’s. Leroy said, “No, that is your stuff.”

Each girl said, “No, our manager told us to duplicate everything that you picked out. He wanted to double everything that you had.”

Leroy then replied, “We cannot afford that!”

While they were debating what just happened, the cashier continued totaling everything up. The manager then put his card in and paid for everything. He went over to the other family’s bill and did the same thing as they watched. Both of these families began to cry as they witnessed this amazing miracle.

Samantha went over to the manager and gave him a big hug and said, “Thank you for blessing us. We sure could use it.”

The manager then pulled out two $50 gift cards to help them out with gas.

The family’s children began thanking God by saying, “If we had not prayed this morning nothing would’ve happened. If Blue Mustang would not have helped us, we never would’ve come here. Sonny in turn would not have brought the gift from Blue Mustang. We stepped out in faith and God took care of us.”

Their little son Billy then said, “Don’t forget about Blue Mustang. He is a car.”

I noticed that Billy had in his possession the hotdog buns. The only time he let go of them was to scan them then he immediately grabbed them back and continued to hold them. He loves hot dogs. He said, “I am going to hold onto the hotdog buns no matter what.”

This store is blessed because they are givers. It is in that part of town where if I was not called to go there, I would not go. If you look out in the parking lot, you can see drug dealers, pimps, and even child traffickers. These kids grow up here while all this is going on. Knowing the Lord is a plus because his word does tell us that he will protect us if we serve him. The sisters came to the cemetery because they remembered how much faith their parents exhibited. They asked God to give them the same faith their parents had. They knew that faith was important in order to please God.

The families then left the store. They picked up a gallon of ice cream and chocolate syrup. They were going to have ice cream after they ate their cheeseburgers.

The last words that they shared with me was from Samantha. She said, “We have learned today to walk by faith not by sight. God blessed us because of that.” That little girl left me inspired as everybody went their separate ways. God gets the Glory and the Victory.

Another Isaiah 41:10 Blessing

It was Saturday morning and I just finished eating breakfast with Blue Mustang. I started heading towards the ghetto in Denver to find some more families to bless. God has been taking me there lately. As I was getting closer to my destination, God said, “Sonny, turn around. I have families praying for food some place else.”

I was starting to fall in love with the people at the ghetto and I was looking forward to speaking with them again. But God continued, “No, I have some other people that need you.” He had me heading west. I had no idea where I was going. I drove for a few minutes then he had me turn right which entered into another King Soopers store. The ghetto is real close to this store but you can tell things are a lot better around here. I still think that my King has me stop at King Soopers stores just because he likes that word King. As everybody knows he’s the King of all kings. Blue Mustang also has mentioned to me that we always eat at Burger King for breakfast. We just enjoy eating there immensely plus everything is so much cheaper. Everyone knows us there and we get great service.

I entered into the parking lot and I stopped and waited. Soon all kinds of people started showing up to go grocery shopping. It was humanly impossible to find who I was to bless so I told, “God, there are just too many people here. You are going to have to bring them to my pickup.” I began looking for grocery lists. But it seemed like everybody had one of those in their hands so I knew that wouldn’t work either. I repeated, “God, just bring them to me.” I then sat back in my seat and closed my eyes. Since my eyes were going to be closed I said, “God, just let them knock on my door while I’m resting.” I did not have my eyes closed very long when I heard this knocking on my passenger door. I looked over to my passenger side and noticed a younger teenage girl standing there. I rolled my window down to talk to her.

She then said, “At my grandma’s house she had somebody paint the verse Isaiah 41:10, that you have written on your door, on her wall. For you to have that verse on your door, God answered our prayer. When we were praying this morning needing a miracle today.”

I then asked, “What is your name?”

She replied, “My name is Elizabeth.”

I then asked, “Who brought you to King Soopers today?”

She replied, “It was God. In order to get something you have to go wherever it is. That is what my mom and dad always say and that is the reason why we are here. We have been here praying for 45 minutes already. I got out of the van because I was tired of just sitting there in one spot and wanted to go for a walk. I happened to walk by your pickup and saw that verse on your door. I have already called my parents and told them about the verse you have on your door.”

When her parents got here they asked me about what their daughter had already shared with me.

I then said, “God gave me that verse because I minister to gangs. It says fear not because I am with you. That verse says it all. God had me put that verse on my door as a reminder not only to me but even for those that pull up beside me at a red light.” I paused a second then asked, “So you came here because you need a miracle?”

She replied, “Yes, we definitely do need a miracle. My husband lost his job because the company he worked for shut their doors because of covid. Nobody wanted to come to work because of fear. We have to wait on finances until my husband gets a different job. We are hungry and we could use some groceries. God said for us to come here because the miracle was going to be here.”

I said, “Well let me tell you about Blue Mustang…” As usual I was interrupted by her young daughter who exclaimed, “Blue Mustang!” I then looked at her knowing that her parents were still listening and said, “Blue Mustang has a ministry that blesses families so they can buy groceries.”

Her parents replied, “Anything will help that will get us something to eat even if it is five dollars.”

I said, “He gives $140 per family. I know that’s a lot of money to some people. Some people may think that’s not very much.”

The wife quickly said, “That is a lot of money. We could buy a lot of groceries with that.”

I said, “God is faithful and he heard your prayers. You came here because God brought you here. You need to be where the food is at. God sent me here to bless you. I go where God sends me and Blue Mustang gives me money so you are able to buy groceries. God put that in his heart and it is a huge ministry. It’s entirely to bless families.”

The wife asked, “Can I call my sister? They need groceries to.”

I said, “Of course; go ahead and call them.”

She shared with me that her sister wasn’t really a Christian. They were both brought up in church but her sister has walked away from it.

I then said, “When you call her, ask her if she would like to receive a miracle today. God has provided one. But it was entirely from God. Tell her you had nothing to do with it.”

She then walked away and called her. I began talking to her kids as she made the call. Their 14-year-old son Josiah asked, “Is that what you do all day is go to King Soopers stores and wait for somebody to show up so you can bless them with money from Blue Mustang?”

I replied, “No, I just do that Saturday mornings. That is when God opens the window from his kingdom to bless people with money to buy food.”

Josiah then asked, “What do you do the rest of the day?”

I said, “I minister to gangs in the city and the United States”.

Josiah exclaimed, “Boy, that would be dangerous!” I confirmed that it can be. He then said “That really is walking by faith and not by sight.”

I replied, “That is true. If I walked by sight, I would probably run when I would see all of them pistols pointing at me. But faith keeps me on the path to share the message of Jesus Christ with these gangs. Without faith in God, I would not be able to do this ministry at all. Even with faith it is still tough to see pistols pointing at me all the time.”

Josiah then said, “I need to pray for you.” Josiah then laid his hand on my heart and began praying over me. He prayed, “Lord, I pray that no harm comes to this man. I see the scars on him. Lord, you are the healer and protector. Continue to protect Sonny wherever he goes. Prepare those hearts of those young men that are broken in Jesus name. Amen.”

I began crying after he prayed that word over me. I then shared with him, “Blue Mustang prayed almost the same prayer two months ago. I would get hit a lot every weekend. They would hit me with bats and their fists. Some would body slam me into the ground. But since he prayed for me specifically that I would not get injured, I have not been touched. This is proof God’s answers prayer.”

Josiah exclaimed, “Amen, that is a miracle.”

Josiah was on fire with excitement. Josiah’s mom, Nancy, came back from her phone call with her sister. She said, “My sister is on her way with her family.”

It wasn’t long and her sister Lisa showed up. Lisa got out of her car and began to question me right away. She exclaimed, “So let me get this right.”

Lisa’s husband interrupted her conversation and said “Be careful how you speak to this man. You can tell he is a Godly man. Just be thankful and grateful.”

Lisa said “All right I can do that.” She then looked at me and asked, “So you go where God sends you with money from Blue Mustang so families can buy groceries?”

I replied, “Yes, you are right. God blesses Blue Mustang. He in turn provides the money to give to families that are hungry. God then sends me to the store where these families are waiting. God does it all.”

Lisa then said, “My sister said she has been here 45 minutes already.”

I replied, “That is true too. Normally, I go to the King Soopers east of here. That is where God has been sending me lately. But today he wanted me to come here.”

Lisa then shared, “I used to pray a lot. But since my mom died of cancer, I have been mad at God.”

I said, “You know what? It wasn’t because of God that she died. God did not create cancer. He had no part of that but he is the healer. We all only live so long and eventually we get to go and see the King. Tomorrow is never promised not even for me. So don’t blame God for the cancer that took your mom. It was time for your mom to go see God. So don’t blame God because He did not do that.”

Lisa began crying. She asked, “Will you pray for me because I need my heart restored back to Christ. I need a fresh anointing from God.”

Elizabeth came over and started praying for her aunt for that fresh anointing. Lisa then exclaimed, “I am going to serve God from this day forward no matter what. No matter what my circumstances are I am going to continue serving him.”

I began thinking that this ministry God has us doing is not only to bless people with money to buy groceries but many times it is dealing with the salvation of people and the strengthening of their faith. Many times their faith is at a dim point in their life. God wants to restore that faith by encouraging them. This ministry of God has many purposes and I am lucky enough to get to see it all happen as He brings everything together.

Lisa then came to me and said “I want to rededicate my heart to Jesus Christ.” Nancy came up to her and started praying with her. Lisa’s husband, Leroy, began crying as he watched his wife rededicate her life to Jesus Christ. Josiah went up and hugged his uncle as he continued to cry. This moment of celebration of Lisa re-dedicating her heart to Jesus Christ became a tearful celebration for all the families. As things begin to settle down, I reached into my wallet and handed $140 to each family. Both families just looked at me with their mouth open and said “This is a lot of money.” I just love it when God gives money to people who really appreciate it. Both families began to make a grocery list of the things they needed.

While they were making their lists, I noticed three girls who looked just like cheerleaders coming out of the store with three grocery carts. They come up to us and said, “We are looking for some volunteers. We are looking for two families.”

Both families had a puzzled look and asked, “What do you want us to volunteer for?”

The girls replied, “To take gift cards.”

The families began to laugh and said, “You are really looking for volunteers to take a gift card?”

One of the teenagers said, “Yes, every Saturday we give three $100 gift cards to people who are looking for help.” This definitely caught the families off guard because they have never heard anything like this before but they did take them up on their offer.

All the teenagers then asked, “We would love to pray for you first before we give them to you.”

When these teenage girls started praying for those families you could tell they do this quite often. Their prayers were beautiful to listen to. After they finished praying for the families they prayed for me and God’s ministries that I am involved in.

One of the teenage girls was amazed with what I was doing and asked, “So you minister to all the gangs here in the city?” I confirm that I did. She then exclaimed, “And you are still alive?”

The way she said that made me laugh. I then shared with her the prayer that Blue Mustang gave me a couple months ago.

She then exclaimed, “Blue Mustang, that is sure a cool name. I just love it.”

I then shared with her the details on how he got that name from the Latinos. She paused with an inquisitive look and said, “The Latinos, would that happened to be Lorenzo?”

I then asked, “How in the world do you know Lorenzo?”

She said, “They come here to buy their groceries from time to time. They were always trying to pick us up and get us to go with them. Then one day he apologized to us and said we are not going to try to pick you up anymore. We are going to change our lives.”

This did not surprise me one bit. I have been watching the Holy Spirit changed his heart all of the time I’ve been bringing the message of Jesus Christ to him.

The families began calling their families and telling them how they got blessed today. They began sharing how they received $140 then another hundred dollars. We now have $240 to spend on groceries. The teenagers still had another hundred dollars gift card to give away and asked if the families needed it.

Lisa said, “No, I am sure there is someone out there right now who is struggling. We need to give that gift card to them.”

The teenager said “No problem” and put the card back into her pocket. At this moment we all began going into the store and doing some shopping. The families they called started showing up while we were in the store. The families were all curious and wanted to meet me. Many had prayer requests of things they wanted me to pray for. The teenagers then asked if any of these families that showed up needed a gift card. They also confirmed that they were doing well and it should be given to somebody who is really in need. The families were embarrassed because they did not realize that their sisters families were in such need. They agreed that they needed to communicate with each other more often and agreed they are going to take care of them from now on.

One teenager began praying for some of the families that rededicated their hearts to Jesus Christ. The manager then walks by and asked, “Are you girls praying for more people?” They confirmed that they were and the manager then said, “You just keep at it. I know that we are paid to work at King Soopers but we also are to serve God. You continue to pray for them with whatever it takes.”

The teenager then shared with the manager what they had already done.

The manager said “This is amazing. God is faithful.” and then walked away. After everybody went through the checkout, the manager ended up paying for everyone’s bill. So now the miracles continue to multiply. The families have their groceries paid for and they still have $240. I know these families and they are not going to go out to waste the money. They will either put gas in their vehicles or they will be buying more groceries.

A couple days later they called me and said, “We took Blue Mustang’s money and those gift cards and went back to the grocery store. This time we bought some of the things we wanted not necessarily the things that we needed. We all wanted some ice cream and cookies.”

There is a lot of good things that happened this week. The families received a blessing and the people who gave got blessed also. The faith of the families is restored. God gets the Glory and the Victory. I am excited to see what the King of Kings has planned for next week.

Open Cross Blessing II

After we had breakfast on Saturday I had to meet with three undercover police officers at the Windsor King Soopers store. They came from Fort Collins and when I met them I also prayed for them. They then asked me what I was going to do now.

I said, “God is sending me to meet with two families in Denver because they need groceries bad.”

The undercover policeman asked, “What do you mean by that statement?”

I replied, “God sends me to families that are praying for a miracle in the area of groceries.”

The undercover policeman asked, “How do you know where to go?”

I replied, “I just go. Many times God will just tell me where the next turn is while I’m driving. I just follow his directions until we get there.”

The undercover policeman exclaimed, “Are you serious?”

I said, “Yes I am. God always brings me into the presence of needy families praying.”

He exclaimed, “Now, that is incredible. I want to be able to hear God’s voice like that.”

I replied, “The number one rule is that you have to listen. If you are not listening you will never hear him speak.” At that moment both of the undercover policeman started crying. They turned to me, prayed for me and then left.

I started heading towards Denver and God guided me to that field where the open cross is located. He brought me here a few months ago. I began to drive down the road towards the cross. I could see two families there praying in the distance. (I found out later that the husbands were brothers). They had already been here one and a half hours before I arrived. They had been worshiping God with music. I made sure that I did not have my outside speakers on because I did not want to disturb their prayers. As I approached them, I carefully parked my pickup and waited until they finished praying. As soon they stood up, I got out of my pickup to go meet them. One dad immediately complemented me on my pickup on how nice it looked. I said, “It does not belong to me.”

With a puzzled look he said, “It doesn’t?”

I said “No, it belongs to my boss.”

Still with a puzzled look he said, “Your boss!”

I replied, “Yes, his name is Jesus Christ.”

All of the sudden he began to laugh and said, “That is a good one.”

I then asked him, “Can I tell you what you guys were praying for?”

He then asked, “How would you know that?”

I replied, “Because God told me what you were praying for. You were praying for food because you are totally out.”

Their little girl Isabella asked, “Did you hear us? Because that is exactly what we were praying for. I don’t even have cereal.” (Like a typical young child they are either wanting cereal or ice cream.)

I then turned back towards the parents and said, “God told me that you guys needed food. He brought me here to help you. The guy who is responsible for all this is spirit led by God. He gives me money to bless people just like you to buy groceries. His name is Blue Mustang.”

Their little boy Ishmael said, “That is a car! That is definitely not a man!”

I replied, “That is the nickname the Latinos gave him.”

He interrupted, “The Latinos?”

I continued, “They are a gang from San Jose California.”

Ishmael then asked, “Are they mean?”

Before I had a chance to answer him his parents interrupted me and asked, “So God brought you here just to give us food?”

I said, “Yes, that is the only reason why I am here.”

The husband shared, “We were praying for food while we were driving. We saw this cross here. I like to kneel before a cross because of what Jesus Christ did on that cross for me. I wanted to kneel before God to give him all my troubles. I am setting everything before the altar. We cannot handle what is going on right now we want to give everything to him. We are asking God for help.”

The other husband Jaden said, “We were not going to move from this spot until God answered our prayer. We do not care if it would’ve been all day and all night. He brought us here to pray.”

I said, “God has answered your prayer. You poured your heart out to him. You did not just give him a one minute prayer but you faithfully worshipped him and prayed for a miracle. You continued honoring him until he answered your prayer.”

Up to this point I still had not shown any money but Isabela said, “We need to thank you and Blue Mustang for coming here and helping us.”

I was surprised when she said that. Usually the parents bring this up. But she was understanding the significance of people helping people. Isabela began praying, “I do not know who Blue Mustang is but I think that is a cool name. Bless him tenfold for everything he has done to help families like us. Bless Mr. Sonny for bringing the money to us. Protect him as he ministers to gangs today. Amen!”

This prayer came from an eight-year-old girl. She learned everything from her parents by listening to them pray. If she continues in this path, Isabella is going to be quite a prayer warrior.

I then reached into my pocket and pulled out the money. I gave each family $140. Both families began to cry as they saw the money laying in their hands. They then said, “We are going to use this money for God. We are not going to get what we want but we are only going to get those things that we need.”

Isabela then asked, “Mr. Sonny, do you want to go grocery shopping with us?” I just cannot say no to that. We all jump back into our cars and headed to a King Soopers store that was near where we were at.

I went into the store with both families. The manager noticed that we were such a large group and was interested in what we were up to. He began to follow us around the store at first then left.

We were walking down one of the aisles when I noticed one of the girl employees putting stock on the shelves. She looked at me and noticed my hoodie and said, “God Over gangs! That message is powerful! So you must minister to gangs.”

I confirmed that I did.

Isabela then said, “Yeah and he has this friend who helped us with money because we don’t have anything to eat at home. They call him Blue Mustang.”

She said, “That is really a cool name.”

Isabela replied, “Yes, I know.”

She then said, “God bless you guys” and walked away with her cart.

We continued shopping until we had two carts filled with groceries. Both families tried to figure out to the dime what to buy so they did not go over their budget. I was there just in case they did go over. I would cover the rest.

The manager then came over and whispered something into the ear of the girl at the cash register. The girl we met earlier in the aisle reported to the manager what was happening. (All of the employees of this store keep a watch out for families in need.) The manager then left. The cashier said, “I will just ring both of these carts up together.” She finished checking out the one cart then she pulled up the second cart and continued on tallying the groceries. The checker then said, “All of your groceries have been paid for. We are all Christians at the store and we are always on the lookout for families in need. That is the reason why we paid for your groceries.”

Both families began crying again as they received another miracle. The manager came over to us and looked at the families. He said, “That money that Blue Mustang gave you, just use it to buy gas or go out for ice cream later. But we are taking care of your groceries at this store today.”

It is interesting that when we stay faithful to God that pleases him. They so trusted that he was going to do something today that they continued to worship and pray. God honored that by multiplying the blessing. I finally saw their bill and they must have miscalculated. I was watching them as they were trying to keep track of how much everything costs and was surprised when it was over that much. It was over $400.

That girl in the aisle saw what they were buying and doubled up on on several items. God put it in her heart to get those items. That is the reason why they were so far off. God already knew what he was going to do. That manager was an extremely interesting individual. When we walked in he was really kind. He asked us how we were doing and to enjoy shopping. I felt he already was suspicious and began to realize. That girl stocking the shelves was a plant to find out more of what was going on. Somehow he sensed that these families were in need. It was also strange that the girl who was stocking shelves then all of a sudden I saw her with a grocery cart putting items in it.

I began to wonder what she was up to. She is a teenager and I usually see them put in items like chips and junk food. But this looked like all serious food that one would feed their families. I even noticed that a ribeye steak even showed up in their cart.

We all went outside the store where I prayed over all the families. Both families then prayed over me. They even anointed my truck and prayed over it. Isabela then said, “I am going to pray over you that gang members do not hurt you anymore.” I told her about Blue Mustang’s prayer that he made over me. Isabela then said, “God is listening. He is for real. He is not dead. He is alive to take care of you. Keep your eyes on Jesus, Sonny.”

After hearing that from her, I said to myself “I think she’s going to be a pastor someday.” We said our good byes and I headed off to witness to the gangs.

Thank you God for adding families to your ministry.

Ghetto King Soopers Blessing

God sent me to the ghetto in Denver again where I have been before. The reason why they call it a ghetto is because it is not a normal part of being in Denver. It’s like you either belong here or you don’t. The people either except you or they may hurt you. You definitely do not want to be here at night. The only reason why I’m even here is because God sent me here. He heard the prayers of needy families. When you are obeying God, he will always protect you especially if he has more work for you to do in the future. I’ve never seen God use dead people to accomplish his will. So I am learning to trust in my King’s ability to protect me in all situations.

I pulled into the King Soopers parking lot and I could hear some people that just started singing. They were singing the words to “Amazing Grace”. Their voices were beautiful. At this moment God said, “Sonny, play ‘Amazing Grace’ on your speakers.”

I found the song on my phone. This happens to be one of my favorite songs. I turned the external speakers on my pickup on and began playing “Amazing Grace”. As the music began to play, the people heard it and just stopped singing. They immediately started over from the beginning. They were excited to have music to be able to sing with. With the music playing, they even sang louder. The people there just began to worship God just like they would if they were in church. They all raised their hands praising God to the words of the song. As I watched them sing I noticed that they begin to circle around two families with their kids. They all began laying hands on both families. God then said, “Sonny, those are the families that I want to bless today. They need help.”

I was about ready to get out of my pickup but God said, “Wait! Just continue to watch.” After the song finished playing, one of the guys asked me if I could play that song again. I confirmed that I would and started playing it again. Everyone again started worshiping God to the song “Amazing Grace”. I played the song three more times. I silenced my stereo and all the families began hugging each other. I turned off my pickup and went out to meet them. Everyone there assumed that God had sent me there today for them.

They said, “You know what our King is – a way maker. He can shift things anytime he feels like it. We are believing in a miracle. Like all of us are hurting in this neighborhood. But God sent you here for us to receive a miracle.” They paused for a moment then said, “That sound system you have on your pickup is amazing. Could you tell us about you?”

I said, “I have a ministry but I am not the only one who’s in it. I minister to the gangs in the city and all over the United States. My King also has me minister to people on the streets. But God has given us a new ministry which also is getting huge. Both Blue Mustang and I are involved with this one.”

At that moment I was interrupted by the little girl Savannah who exclaimed, “Blue Mustang, that’s a car! So you have a ministry with a car.” At that moment everybody started roaring with laughter.

I said, “No, that’s his nickname the Latinos gave him. He’s from San Jose California. They gave him that name because he drives a Blue Mustang just like the leader does.”

Savanna replied, “That makes sense.” She then came towards me and asked, “Can I hold your hand Mister?” I confirmed that it would be okay for her do that.

Her parents then looked at her and asked, “Why do you want to hold his hand?”

She replied, “He just loves Jesus. I want to be next to him at this moment.” I was about ready to cry but I kept my composure.

Leroy said, “What is the miracle? Why did Blue Mustang send you here?”

I said, “Actually God brought me here. But Blue Mustang provided money for two families so they could buy groceries.” At this moment I heard the loudest hallelujah I’ve ever heard. The whole crowd began shouting “Praise you, Jesus”. The crowd has a certain style when they praised the Lord that is encouraging. They continued praising Jesus as loudly as they could. They kept thanking him for answering their prayer.

I found out that they were here worshiping God 45 minutes even before I arrived. As we continued talking about the goodness of our King, the neighborhood began taking notice. Everyone tries to watch out for each other in this area. That is one thing that makes living here special. How many people do you know that look out for other people. I notice a lot of this goes on with these families whom God blesses.

People started coming over to us. One family said, “We were here two weeks ago. When we saw that red pickup sitting here by this crowd, we knew that another miracle was taking place today. We had to come over and see what it is. We know that God brings you here.” The family then said, ” Sonny, this is my mom and my dad. They want to accept Jesus Christ. We were listening to you playing “Amazing Grace” from your pickup.” They paused then said, “Dad you tell him!”

The dad then took over and said, “It is time for me now to give my heart to Jesus Christ. I noticed that you were having a prayer meeting over here and I told my family that we should go over there. I want to turn my life over to Jesus Christ. ” At this moment he gave his heart to Jesus Christ.

Leroy still was not sure if I was serious. He looked directly at me, then asked, “You brought money so we could buy groceries?”

I confirmed that I did.

Samuel the other dad said, “God is faithful. God told us to come here and worship him first then we could ask for a prayer request. That is the reason why we came. We did it in front of the grocery store because we had to be specific with what we wanted. It’s just like if we wanted a cheeseburger, we would have to go to Burger King because they grill them there.”

(I started laughing when he gave the analogy of the cheeseburger. I told Blue Mustang to meet me at one of the other fast food restaurants for a burger. He mentioned that we could go across the street to have it flame broiled. Blue Mustang’s famous words were, “I bet you would rather have a flame broiled burger over a fried one” as he pointed towards the Burger King restaurant across the street where they do flame broil burgers.)

Samuel continued speaking and said, “If you want something, you gotta go to the source. Then ask God to not only help you but to bless you too. If it’s his will, he will do it. If it does not happen today, he will definitely do it another day. We came here because we needed groceries. So we faithfully came here. When you pulled up Sonny and began playing that music for Amazing Grace for us to worship, we knew that God was behind it.”

I was thinking about how well they could hold a tune without music. They did an amazing job praising God with the music to that song.

Leroy then said, “Even if it’s five dollars we will still be able to buy some bread. It doesn’t matter how much it is.”

I reached into my pocket and pulled out my wallet and said, “Here’s $140 for each one of you.”

Both families started crying as I laid the money into their hands. These families were very appreciative. They firmly believed that this was a tremendous amount of money.

Leroy who was all choked up said, “This is definitely enough to get what we need to get by.”

At this moment the manager Jerome showed up. Jerome said, “I just love it when you guys show up and worship in front of my store. It makes me so happy. I wanted to come out on Friday to meet you guys but I had too much book work to do. I cracked the window in my office just so I could hear you sing ‘Amazing Grace’. It really sounded good when this guy shows up with the music.”

This is the third time that these families have done this. They came yesterday on Friday and a week ago.

Jerome then looked at me and said, “You came here to bless these families here today didn’t you?”

I replied, “Blue Mustang and I were both sent here by God. This is a new ministry to give money to people who need food. God put that in Blue Mustang’s heart to do that for people. God then sends me to where the families are in need. As I drive to Denver, God always guides me to where I need to go. I usually never come to this part of town. I minister to gangs 12 blocks to the east from this area. I didn’t even know that there was a King Soopers here but he is bringing me here again to this same store to bless families.”

The manager reached into his back pocket and pulled out a black booklet. The manager said, “In this booklet are the names of people with how much money they owe me. Some people come to me and say I need to get groceries but I don’t have quite enough to pay for all of them. Could I pay you after Friday? And on Friday or Monday they will come and stop by and pay me. I tell them it is okay for people to do that because I am here to help them.” He then looked back to the families and asked, “Do you guys need groceries too?”

Savanna still holding my hand said, “Blue Mustang gave $140 to us and $140 to the other family. Now we can buy groceries.”

At this moment the manager began crying. He then said, “So somebody gave you money just to bless families?”

I said, “Not just any family but the families that God has chosen.”

So Jerome reached into his own wallet and exclaimed, “I am going to match Blue Mustang.” The manager then handed each family $140. He then said, “I want your names so I can put them in my book. In the future, if you guys need food, come and talk to me. We can get you some groceries to get you by for a week. And then we will go from there.”

A lot of cars started lining up while Jerome was standing outside with us. The people began jumping out of their cars and began paying off their bills that Saturday. Jerome looked at me and said, “This has never happened before. They usually come on Monday to pay up.”

The neighborhood continued handing him money as Jerome began scratching their names off his book for money owed. Jerome then looked at me again and said, “Sonny this is a miracle. Thanks for coming here today and showing me that God is real.”

Savanna tugged on my hand and said, “Do you want to go shopping with us Mr.?”

I said, “Let’s go.” So I locked my pickup up and went into the store with the families. They needed a lot of groceries but they only picked up what they needed. After their list was filled, the families went to the checkout and paid for everything. We then went outside the store back to our vehicles. When I approached my pickup, there was a little boy throwing a big fit and crying as loud as he could. His parents were trying to calm him down as they were standing right next to my pickup. They were trying to pull him away from my front tire. The little boy had his arms wrapped around my tire like it was his.

I continued walking towards my pickup and asked, “What’s going on here?”

The little seven-year-old boy stopped crying and said, “I have always wanted to drive in a monster pickup. I told my dad that I want to drive this pickup.”

His embarrassed dad said, “Ever since I took him to that monster pickup show here in Denver, he has always wanted to be in one of those pickups. My son just loves your pickup.”

While his dad was speaking, God said, “Sonny, take him on a pickup ride and let him drive.”

I immediately said, “Let’s just go for a ride.”

The dad said, “Are you serious?”

I confirmed that I was. His wife and daughter climbed into my backseat while dad sat in the passenger seat. I started the pickup and motioned to the parents to have their son sit on my lap. I put my seat as far back as I could and still reach the pedals to give him room. I then asked him what his name was.

He said that his name was “Billy.”

I asked him what his middle name was and he said, “I’m kind of embarrassed of it but it is Snoopy.”

I then said, “Snoopy, do you want to drive my pickup?” You should’ve seen his eyes get real big when I mentioned that. I then said, “You sit here right on my lap and you will be in charge of the steering wheel. We are going to drive around the park and take a cruise.”

Billy said, “Are you really serious?” I confirmed that I was. I never would’ve done this but God made sure there was no traffic around at all in this area. We did not go real fast as we navigated out of the parking lot and began driving around the park.

The mom in the back was taking pictures of her son driving my pickup. Man you should see the expression on Billy’s face as he was maneuvering my pickup around the park.

I then asked Billy, “What’s your favorite song?”

Billy replied, “You probably don’t have it but it is from the Newsboys that Jesus is not dead.”

I immediately found the song “God Is Not Dead” on my phone and began playing it. I played it on all of my speakers so everyone can hear it even in the park.

As Billy continued driving, he noticed that his friends were playing in the park. I rolled the window down and Billy started making hand signals to his friends.

They yelled back at him and said, “Billy what are you doing?” and they began running towards him as they saw him drive the pickup. We drove around that park three times and headed back to the grocery store.

I then asked, “Billy how does it feel to travel in a monster pickup?”

Billy replied, “One of these days when I get older, I am going to buy me one of these. I would then go pick up my best friends and we will go for a ride.”

I then shared with Billy that God told me to let him drive my pickup. Billy’s parents were Christians and I prayed over Billy’s family. After I finish praying I then asked, “Billy, are those your best friends there at the park?”

He replied, “We used to have a picnic together at the park. We would only have crackers and peanut butter.”

I then asked, “That was your entire picnic. You did not have anything else?”

He confirmed that was it.

I then said, “Why don’t you meet me over here at the park at noon and we will have a picnic. I will bring the food.”

Billy then asked, “Are you going to bring cheeseburgers from Burger King?”

I then confirmed that I would do that.

The dad and mom then asked, “Are you serious?”
