Faith of One Mom Brings Blessing

God had me go to the King Soopers in Commerce City, Colorado. When I pulled into the parking lot, I noticed a bunch of people praying for a woman. Soon her family showed up with another family. The kids went to their mom and put their arms around her. Soon they began crying. I asked, “God, what is going on here.”

He replied, “These are the families that need groceries.”

I asked, “But she was here by herself?”

My King did not answer my question but said, “Go talk to them and stop asking questions. Sonny, just do it!”

I headed over there with my Bible and asked them how I could pray for them? One of the husbands whose name is Stephan introduced me to his wife Rachel. I then introduced myself. Rachel has been here since seven this morning. She said, “God told me to come here and wait for a miracle. Both of our families need groceries. No one wanted to come here with me. That did not stop me. If none of you want to go with me, I am going by myself. We have faith to walk by faith and not by sight.” Rachel repeated herself and said, “God said to come here so I am doing it.”

Her family reminded her that she has done this twice already and that nothing has happened. Rachel said, “I am not going to stop. It is in God’s timing and not mine.” From 7 AM this morning, she was praying until I arrived. Her aunt and uncle came later and were praying with her. But they made no effort to help her out of their families situation. Rachel then thanked them for their prayers and said, “There is another man coming here to help us and it is not you guys, no offense. God did not put it in your hearts to help us. I am staying here until he shows up.”

It was Rachel’s faith that brought the miracle to the families. I then prayed with her and said, “God has heard your prayers and they have been answered. Let me tell you by whom. First it was by God who started it by putting into Blue Mustang’s heart to bless needy families.”

Rachel’s little girl Maria exclaimed, “Blue Mustang! Isn’t that a car? A car can talk to you!”

I said, “No, he is a human being. The Latinos gave him that nickname because he has a blue Mustang.”

Maria said, “Well, that makes sense.” She then asked, “What is the miracle, Mister?”

I said, “It is money to help you buy groceries.”

Rachel came up to me and hugged me like I was her sister. Her sister, Virginia, came over to speak with Rachel and said, “The next time God tells you to come here and wait for a miracle, I am coming with you. I just witnessed a miracle that just happened here today. I am witnessing faith in action.” Everyone was quiet for a moment, then Virginia said, “I guess that we need to sit down and make a grocery list.”

Rachel said, “Yes, we need to make a list.” Here they were ready to make a list and I have not even told him how much money that I was going to give them. Even here they were stepping out in faith. I took out my wallet and gave each family $140. Rachel said, “Oh my gosh! I see chili dogs in action right now.” Rachel was definitely craving chili dogs. Even something as simple as a chili dog was more than they could afford.

All of a sudden I could hear this rattling behind me. I turned around to look and I saw four teenagers each pushing a grocery cart. They were pushing the carts on the sidewalk coming directly toward us. I said, “Good morning, Lydia!” Lydia is one of the employees at this store. I have gotten to know her since I’ve been here before.

Lydia said, “I saw your monster truck in the parking lot and I went and told my coworkers that something was going down. We saw you praying for this family when you got here. We all went over to the break area and began praying over you and the families. We decided since we got a nice bonus this year that we want to help families with the bonus we received. We want to buy them groceries.”

Rachel went over and began hugging all these teenage girls for what they did. Those teenagers have learned about giving. This is the third time that they have done something like this. The husbands just stood there watching while everyone began crying. Lydia then spoke up and said, “Let’s go grocery shopping guys.”

Maria asked, “Can I ride in the cart.” She then looked at me and asked, “Do you want to go grocery shopping with us?”

I said, “Yes, let’s go!” We all went inside of the store and began shopping. I watched the families shop and they were not just throwing anything into their carts. They were carefully trying to get only the things they needed. Both families did fill up the four carts and proceeded to the checkout line. All four teenagers were planning on paying for the family’s groceries. The manager was running the register. He put in his managers card and it displayed his name on the machine. He is capable of giving discounts. I do not know how much it was. The teenagers were crying as the manager was scanning the items in their carts. They looked at me and said, ” Now we know why you and Blue Mustang do this. When you do this. your heart just explodes with joy. ”

I said, “It does relate to being a giver and not being a taker. It is about being a blessing and not just hanging onto what you’ve got.”

These families needed a blessing today. The families were put in the situation because the husbands businesses were shut down by covid. When you’re not working, the money stops coming in. Like most of the families that I have been coming to help, they seem to have enough to pay for rent and utilities but that takes everything and they sacrifice groceries to make sure they have protection for their families.

I was totally impressed with how Rachel came to the store today. She was not going to move from this store until the miracle happened. I went over and hugged Rachel and said, “Whatever you do, do not lose that faith you had in coming here today. This is the kind of faith that God wants. To have the faith of a child that when God says he will move a mountain, the child will watch waiting for the mountain to move. They don’t have all the skepticism that adults do.

Rachel then said, “You and Blue Mustang have strengthened my faith even more today.”

I said, “It was God who restored your faith. We’re just messengers in God’s Kingdom. He is the one that does it all and gets credit for it.”

Rachel then said, “I wish I could bottle you up and take you with me.”

I said, “Here is my ministry card. You can call me anytime you need to.”

Maria said, “We are going to make up our own ministry cards. But we are not sure what that will be.” As soon as they create one, they plan to send me one of their cards.

Most of the families I have dealt with support each other from the very beginning. Rachel stood alone as her family was against what she was doing. Her faith brought the miracle. It was also interesting that none of their immediate family would help them out financially either. After today, they’re going to see God in a new way. God gets the Glory and the Victory. He has more families for us to visit in the new year.

Isaiah 41:10 Brings a Blessing

I went down to the Aurora King Soopers. I parked my pickup in the parking lot and began to wait. 35 minutes had already passed. I started to speak to God and said, “I parked where you asked me to park. 35 minutes have passed and I still have not seen anybody. I am trying to be patient.”

God replied, “Sonny just be at peace. Just sit down and rest.”

I was just sitting there in my pickup and looking at every vehicle that was driving by and in my mind I was saying to myself “Are these the ones?” but this did not help. So I opened my Bible and began reading Psalms. I was getting totally involved with reading the book of Psalms and I never noticed what was going on around in my surroundings. I soon heard a knock at my pickup door. I turned my head and noticed that a whole family with three kids was standing beside my pickup as they continued knocking on my door. I immediately got out and asked, “How can I help you?”

They replied, “We parked alongside your pickup and noticed the scripture Isaiah 41:10.

‘Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.’

that you had posted on your passenger door. When we saw that we walked around your pickup as you were sitting there. We knocked on your door because we figured that you were sent here by God to help us.”

I said, “Yes, I was sent here by God.”

Their little girl Rebecca said, “We do not have any cereal at all. We don’t have anything for sandwiches. We are totally out of peanut butter and jelly.” She continued talking about different things and she finally finished up saying, “We don’t even have any paper towels when we make a mess.”

The parents then said, “When we saw that Scripture on your pickup, we told ourselves that this was totally amazing. That Scripture is a testimony. Just driving around with the Scripture on the door like that is testimony at every light you stop at. People have nothing else to do but look over and see that. It just blesses them.”

I replied, “God told me to put that Scripture on my door like that. It is to help people like you said. I personally may not be able to witness to them but that Scripture does. I had nothing to do with putting that on my pickup. God gets the entire glory for that.”

The wife said, “I noticed that you have a breakfast burrito next to you.”

I said, “Yes I do. I am taking some of them to the gang members today. They are pretty spicy but do you guys want some?”

The parents replied, “Yes, we will take one.”

The kids took one bite but it was too spicy for them. The parents thoroughly enjoyed the burritos. Another man pulled up while we were speaking. It was the wife’s brother. He went to his sister and said, “I talked to mom and dad but they have not gotten their monthly check yet. They cannot help us until they receive their check.”

I looked at her brother and asked, “Does your family need groceries?”

Her brother replied, “Yes, we do need groceries.”

I said, “Well let me tell you about Blue Mustang. God uses him to bless families in need to buy groceries.”

Rebecca interrupted me and said, “Blue Mustang! That’s a car!”

Her older brother confirmed to her that is a car. Rebecca who was really confused then said, “You know a car that can talk. A car can actually talk to you?”

Before I could answer, she felt bad for interrupting me and apologized. She then wanted me to continue on with what I was about to say about Blue Mustang. I told them everything about Blue Mustang and said, “He always gives me money to allow needy families to buy groceries. It is not to buy cigarettes or liquor. This is strictly for food. If this money is used for anything else God will not honor them.”

The parents replied, “We are all Christians. We don’t smoke or drink. But we definitely could use a miracle right now.”

Rebecca then asked, “Do you have a gift card for us right now?” She definitely knew about gift cards.

I said, “No, I don’t have any gift cards but I do have $140 for each family so you can buy groceries.” By this time even the men began crying.

Rebecca exclaimed, “$140! We are millionaires! Now we can go buy some baloney, bread, mayonnaise and mustard. We can have sandwiches for lunch.”

I could tell that they were hungry and anxious to get something to eat. I said, “Let me pray for you guys first.”

The husbands shared, “Our wives have a deeper faith than we do. They walk by faith and not by sight. We have a tendency to walk by sight. We need to be like our wives and walk in faith like they do.”

I said, “Let’s pray about that to. Without faith you cannot please God.”

As I began praying for these men, they both began crying. I still haven’t pulled the money out. The wives began hugging me. I then said, “Let’s thank God for what he has provided for you.” I then reached in my pocket and gave them the money. That even brought more tears to everyone’s eyes as I laid the money into their hands..

A van with six elderly couples in it pulled up beside us. They were watching us and they saw us praying. They asked, “What are you guys praying about?”

Rebecca said, “Blue Mustang gave Mr. Sonny money to buy us groceries.”

One old lady exclaimed, “Blue Mustang!”

Rebecca said, “That is exactly what I said. Sonny knows a car that talks to him.” Rebecca then shared everything with the old couples that just happened. Rebecca was representing faith in the way she described everything. She had no problem believing our King is capable of doing everything. Rebecca then said, “My dad does not walk by faith. He just walks by sight. But my mom she walks by faith but not by sight. That is definitely a big difference between them. I don’t even believe in Santa Claus. It is all about Jesus Christ.”

This little girl just stole my heart the way she talked. She was only six years old but was saying so many profound things.

The little boy Samuel said, “When Jesus Christ came to the earth, he came as a baby. Why would God send his son as a baby?” Samuel is definitely trying to figure this one out. He then said, “It is just like when God sent Blue Mustang to us.”

By now all of the old couples have gotten out of the van and they said, “We live together in one of those retirement places and we came here to get some groceries. We have decided that we want to help you buy groceries today. We all want to pitch in. You can keep Blue Mustang’s cash for other things like gas. Or just to go get lunch someplace.”

One of the older gentleman said, “Yes, there is nothing like getting a charcoal broiled hamburger.”

These couples all live on a fixed income and they all pooled their money together in order to buy groceries today. God is going to honor them for doing that. They gave from themselves to see these families blessed. All of the old couples took them grocery shopping.

Rebecca asked, “Sonny, do you want to go grocery shopping with us?”

I said, “Yeah, let’s go and have some fun!”

All of a sudden time was not an issue. When God orchestrates something time does not even come into the equation. No matter how long it takes it is going to be worth it. Rebecca held my hand the whole time while we were shopping for groceries. Her parents said that she could let go of my hands. Rebecca said, “No way! He is my hero because he knows Blue Mustang.”

Samuel asked, “Can we get some ice cream?”

His mom said it would be okay but we just cannot get any ice cream right now or it will melt. We will have to get that at the very end.

Isn’t it interesting how God sends people out. Blue Mustang gave me $280 to take to Denver to bless two families in need. God then sends these older couples out to also bless the families. It is not as though $140 per family is not enough but God really does want to bless us. We get to experience it weekly so we know it’s true. Again, none of us on any given weekend even have an idea who or where God will send me. We walk in faith and know that he has somebody lined up for us to bless each week. He in turn brings other people into the area to do the same. This action of God strengthens our faith tremendously.

I found out later the families had parked there by the sidewalk and didn’t notice my pickup until they started walking towards it. It’s just a lot safer when you have kids to be able to walk on the sidewalk and not have to worry about anyone backing over them. But as they started walking towards the store, that is when they saw my pickup with the Scriptures printed on it.

Rebecca has more faith then most adults I know. And why is that? She pays attention to what her mom does. She has learned from watching her. When Rebecca saw her dad crying for the first time she said, “My dad has never cried ever! Jesus is real because I have seen my dad cry.” We were all standing together as she confessed this. God gets the Glory and the Victory.

I have learned myself just to walk by faith and not by sight. If I would have walked by sight every time the gangs pulled pistols on me, I would have taken off and run. I have learned that when God sends me on a mission it is to succeed and not fail. Even though the pistols are intimidating I put my full trust in my king. Now I need to learn to do that with my patience. After those 35 minutes past I was beginning to wonder if something really was going to happen. Even I need to continue building my own faith and let God control my time. Our God will continue to bring us more families because there are many out there who are hungry right now. They’re not only hungry for food but they are hungry for Jesus Christ and the word of God.

God Blessing People in the Ghettos

God sent me to the King Soopers store in what I consider the ghettos of Denver. This is a very dangerous place to hang out. You can even hear gunfire during the day. But there are hungry people even in these areas. Families are praying to our Heavenly Father for food. That is the reason why my King is sending me here today.

There was not a lot of activity going around the store just because of the danger involved of being there. I started looking for what might be considered a needy family. After I could not see a thing, I asked, “God, I am not seeing anybody here. What is going on?”

All of a sudden, a van drove into the parking lot. I thought maybe this was them. But it wasn’t. Then a family started coming towards the store. They were soon followed by a second family that was also walking to the store. I noticed that a little girl in the family was carrying a Bible. I made the assumption that they came from a Bible study or church. Both families then stopped and put their hands out. I had my window down and began listening to them as they started praying. They prayed, “Lord we need groceries. We need a miracle.”

I realized these are the families and said to myself, “Wow!”

The little girl prayed, “We need ice cream also.”

At this moment I began to cry. When you think about that any given day of the week I could go out and get ice cream. This was something these families could not even afford. I continued sitting in my pickup and listening until they finished praying. I then got out with my Bible and asked, “How can I pray for you guys?”

The little girl said, “We need a miracle today. You see we only have five slices of bread, one cheese slice and two slices of Bologna in the refrigerator.”

I replied, “Wow! I see that you need groceries. I want to tell you about what God is doing through a man whose name is Blue Mustang.”

A little boy there exclaimed, “That’s a car!”

I said, “Yes that is true but he drives a Blue Mustang. The Latinos gave him that nickname because he drives a Blue Mustang.”

He then said, “That is so cool! I want that nickname!”

His father then said, “So he gives you money to give to families to buy groceries. Is that what is happening?”

I said, “That is what he does but God chooses the families. I do not just drive around and hope that I will find somebody. God tells me exactly where to go. God brought me to this place today just strictly to bless you. I never come to this side of town because the gangs are seven blocks that way. I witness to gangs so I always go where they hang out.”

The father then said, “That is a miracle that you do that. The gangs need to hear about Jesus Christ also.”

As the father was speaking his daughter came over and held my hand. I still had my Bible in one hand as I was listening to her dad speak. I felt her hand grab hold of my other hand. I didn’t ignore her and said “Hi!”

The little girl said, “It looks like you could use somebody to hold your hand too.”

I wanted to cry but God kept me together. Because he wanted me to share Christ with them and talk more about the miracle God has for them.

Both families said, “If we could just have something to buy groceries.”

I said, “I have $280 with me to split between both of you. You can use this to go get the groceries that you need.”

Each family responded, “That is $140 each.” To them that was a lot of money for someone to give to them.

The little girl asked, “Can we buy ice cream now?” Her parents confirmed to her that they would get some.

The little boy asked, “Can we get some cereal and milk?” They too confirmed that they would get that. Just being able to buy ice cream, cereal and milk meant the world to these kids. I laid the money into the parents hands and they began crying. At this time the manager came out and asked, “What are you guys praying about?”

The manager was the large black man who looked like he worked out a lot. He was well-built and spoke like a gentle giant.

The little girl said, “Blue Mustang brought us money to buy groceries because we do not have any food at home.”

At this moment the manager started crying. The manager then used his left hand to reach into his pocket and pulled out some gift cards. He gave each family a gift card. He then said, “Each card has $200 on it. You guys go by groceries. Use the cash for bills or whatever else you may need. Jesus loves you and God is faithful.”

I said to myself this is so beautiful what’s happening right now. Both families hugged the manager then came up and gave me a hug. They said, “Thank you for what you did. You started a very awesome miracle.”

I said, “Yes we got to walk by faith and not by sight.”

The little girl said, “You got that right Mr.” as she reached out and gave me a big hug. At this moment all of them began praying for me. I already have told them about our ministry. They said, “You guys need prayer to do what you do.” After they finished praying, they went inside the store. I looked around and said to myself, “This part of town really needs Jesus Christ. God is definitely going to be bringing me back here again.

Vision Brings Blessing

It was Saturday and God sent me to the King Soopers on 144th Ave. I then parked my pickup and began watching. My eyes were feeling heavy and I felt like I wanted to take a nap. I said to myself, “The day hasn’t even begun yet. I need to stay awake.”

God said, “Why don’t you just lay your head back and rest. Just go ahead and take a nap.”

I then said, “I have to be awake so I can see the families come.”

God repeated himself, “Just lay your head back and relax. Just do it.”

I listened to him by laying my head back and closing my eyes. I began praying but I quickly fell asleep because I never remembered saying “Amen”. Soon I heard this knock at my door. I opened my eyes and looked over and I saw this young girl, whose name is Jennifer, knocking at my door. Her family was just right behind her standing there watching. I could see her dad talking to her but I could not make out what he said. While I rolled my window down, I asked, “How can I help you?”

Jennifer said, “You might think this is crazy mister. If it is, you can just roll your window back up. What I am about to tell you scared me. We were all sitting at home eating toast. That is all we had to eat. I was praying for food because we are hungry. God then showed me this vision of this huge red monster truck. Then I heard this voice that said, ‘He is the one that has the miracle for you. I have sent him to you.’ When I heard that voice, it just scared me to death. This is the first time I have ever heard God’s voice like this. I immediately went to my parents and told them about what God showed me. They said that it was a vision that God showed you. They then asked me where this place is at and I  told them it was here. This King Soopers is just down the street from where we live. I then said that we need to go now. That is why we are here now.”

Sometimes when experiencing fear, we don’t want to say anything to anyone. She overcame that fear and told her parents about what she saw. If she would’ve stayed quiet, they would’ve missed out on a blessing. She was bold and stepped out in faith to tell her parents, aunt and uncle everything that God showed her. Because of financial circumstances, both families lived in the same apartment. Both families also stepped out in faith as they got into a van and headed to this store.

Jennifer continued, “We were driving through the parking lot when I saw your truck and I told them that is the one that God showed me.”

Everyone stayed in the van as she spoke. But soon they were starting to work their way out to follow her.  After she then explained the vision to me, I got out of my pickup and said, “You were obedient enough to tell your family about God’s vision. You had the faith to come here. I have been waiting here because God sent me here. Not only that Blue Mustang has provided me with the money that God gave him to give to you so you can buy groceries.”

Jennifer exclaimed, “Blue Mustang! That’s a car!”

I said, “That is the name the Latinos gave him. That’s his name forever. Even our King in heaven calls him Blue Mustang. Whenever God tells me to pray for Blue Mustang or Terry Bird, I just do it.”

Jennifer exclaimed, “Terry Byrd!”

I said, “Yeah, he is related to Big Bird. He is a big guy.”

Jennifer said, “Are you serious that he’s related to Big Bird on Sesame Street?”

I said, “Yeah, that’s the one.” They all began to giggle. Just making them laugh makes them forget about the things they are going through in their life.

Jennifer then asked, “How much money did he give us?”

Her mom looked at her and said, “You know, that is rude. Why don’t you let him finish telling us what God has shown him and why God brought him here.” The mom paused then said, “Blue Mustang must be a Christian man.”

I said, “He has a heart for God’s kingdom.”

The minute I said that Jenifer started crying and said, “This is my first vision and it already has come true today.” She got her phone out and started writing notes on what just happened today. She took details about her vision, about me and Blue Mustang. She then asked, ” Would you pray for us. We need a miracle. If God brought you here. You must be a mighty man of God. We don’t know too many of them other than our parents.”

I now had a chance to pray for them. Their little boy came over and said, “My name is Luke but I like Lucas better. I think Lucas is cool.”

I asked, “Lucas, how can I pray for you?”

Lucas said, “Well my favorite song is ‘Jesus Loves Me This I Know’.” He stopped there.

I then asked, “So do you want to sing it.”

Lucas said, “Yes, that would be awesome!”

I said, “Let me find it on my phone and we can play it on the outside speakers on my pickup.”

Lucas exclaimed, “Do you really have speakers on the outside of your pickup.” I confirmed that I did and began to play it off my phone. We all started singing to that song. We did not realize it but in the next section of the parking lot, four old couples were listening to us sing that song. They continued to sit in their cars until we sang the entire song. Meanwhile, Lucas said, “Mister can you kneel down so I can place my hand on your heart. This is how my grandma prays for me.”

I got down on my knees and his little tiny hand pressed right into my heart. He prayed, “Thank you for Mr. Sonny and thank you for Blue Mustang and thank you for the miracle today because we can buy some cereal. In Jesus name. Amen.”

The little things like that for a child are important. Lucas knew how to pray. When Lucas finished praying, the old couples came over and said, “That is the most beautiful song for children ever. It really blesses me because I remember teaching it to little children in Sunday school.”

I began to cry as I began thinking about the impact that the song was happening to everybody here today. Jennifer then said, “Does that mean that we can now buy sandwich stuff? Because I love sandwiches.”

I said, “Yes” and I reached into my back pocket and pulled out my wallet. I handed $140 to each family. They said, “This is going to buy a lot of groceries. I can’t wait to go into the store and get the things that we need. The older couples then said, “Why don’t we go into that store and go shopping together so you can get the things you want. Not just the things you need.”

Lucas never met any of these people but he went up to the old couples and introduce himself to them. He said, “My name is Lucas.” He then looked at one of the gentlemen and said, “My grandparents live really far away. You look so much like my grandfather. Can I hold your hand?”

He said, “I will hold your hand Lucas. We will go to the store together and we will fill up these grocery carts.”

Those two ended up going by themselves to the store. Lucas was just talking up a storm with this man as they walked. I was not sure what they were saying.

I looked at Jennifer and asked, “What did your dad tell you when I first saw you?”

Jennifer replied, “He asked, ‘Are you sure this is the right truck.’ I then turned around and told him that this is the truck that I saw in my vision. God sent this truck here for us today. I am going to knock on the door.”

I was beginning to feel emotional as she shared this with me. The older couples then said, “Just keep the money that this man gave you for gas or just go out for ice cream tonight. We want to take care of your groceries today.”

Again, God multiplied the money that we gave this family. When we obey God and do what he says, we get to see the harvest of God. We all walked into the store together. I went to get a couple of donuts that were not for me and plastic bowls, cookies, and milk for my cooler. These are things that I am going to use to witness to gang members today. I was watching the families shop and saw that they were about done and started to head towards the cash registers. The manager then came around the corner and asked me, “Is that another couple that Blue Mustang blessed?”

I said, “Yes it’s those families right there.”

The manager then asked, “Who are the older people?”

I said, “They are going to buy their groceries.”

The manager then realized who they were and said, “My dad, he is such a character. Two or three times a month they come to the parking lot and look to see who they can bless. Sometimes they will come into the store and check out everybody’s grocery carts. If they discover that there’s not much in their carts, they will start asking questions. Those people, who are in need, usually will reveal themselves to them. And when they find that out, they tell them to turn their grocery carts around and fill them up because we are paying for their groceries.”

I found out that all of the old couples are very well-to-do and they are using the wealth that God has given them to help bless people. We can change people’s destiny all around us if we just listen to what God says. Sometimes it may look crazy but it will end up being fun. God gets the Glory and the Victory.

Amazing Grace Song Blessing

It was Friday the day after Thanksgiving. I had breakfast with Blue Mustang because it is a holiday. After we ate, he said, “I feel our King has two families that are hungry.” Our King had me go to the King Soopers on the west side of Denver where I normally go. I parked my pickup and waited. While I was resting, I started listening to “Kingdom Music”, “Young Bro” and “Holy Ground”. They are Christian rappers who write Christian music strictly for people like the gangs I witness to. It was not very long when God said, “Sonny, I want you to play Amazing Grace.”

I said, “Yes! That is my favorite song.” I started playing it and began worshiping God again. Whenever I worship God, I usually have my eyes closed. I did not see anything going on in my surroundings, but soon I heard this knocking on my door. I opened my eyes and looked out the windows but I could not see a thing. I sat up a little bit more in my seat then I noticed a little girl standing by my door. I opened my door and she said, “Mister, can you play that song a little louder? That is our favorite song at home.”

I said, “Yes, I will start the song over and play it louder. I turned the volume to a much higher level. I got out of my pickup and closed the door. It was definitely loud. The song continued to play as I watched the little girl walked back to her family. Her family began to sing along. They did not have a very good tone but they were just worshiping God. They did not care who was listening. They just continued to worship God. When the song finished, I turned it off. I then went over to speak to them. I said, “That sure is a powerful song.”

The husband said, “Not only is that a powerful song but that really brings peace to us. The grace of God is so faithful, he loves us, and we came here for miracle. God showed up when you started playing that song. That is a miracle. We came here because we are hungry. We do not have very much food. We came here to see if we could talk to the manager. We are going to see if we could buy groceries today and pay them back on Friday.”

I said, “Let me tell you about Blue Mustang and what God is put into his heart for families like you…”

There was only one family present at this time. A second car then pulled up as I was speaking. It was the wife’s sister. Both of the wives of each family were sisters. They too were in the same boat. He lost his job. The company he worked for went under. She said, “We came here today to pray with you. Maybe we can receive a miracle too.”

Her sister said, “Sonny was going to tell us about this guy Blue Mustang: in what God has put in his heart.”

I began to tell them about Blue Mustang and how God uses him to buy groceries for families in need. The little girl, Christina said, “He even walks barefoot even in the winter.”

I said, “Yes and he always wears shorts year-round.”

Christina replied, “That must be one tough dude.”

Christina began telling the other family about my pickup and how it would play “Amazing Grace” from the outside. She said, “He has this sound system that sounds so sick. I just love it.” You know this new generation sick means totally amazing. Christina then asked, “Mister can you play that song again?”

I climbed back in my pickup and restarted the song for them. I played the entire song again. This time it was different. The two sisters were the only ones singing. What came out of their mouths was beautiful. It was the husbands that were bad singers. The families then asked, “So was it Blue Mustang that sent you here to bless us?”

I said, “God gives money to Blue Mustang so I can give it to families who are hungry.”

They then said, “So you guys are a team from God.”

I said, “That is true but God has given Blue Mustang a heart of giving to bless families like you.”

Christina then said, “Not only is he rich here but he is rich in God’s Kingdom.” Everybody just looked at her and asked where she learned that. Christina said, “I learned that in Sunday school.” Her words were so profound that I began crying.

Christina then asked, “Mom, does that mean that we can grill some cheeseburgers?” That was Christina’s favorite meal.

Her mom said, “Yes, we will get some hamburger and cheese to make cheeseburgers.”

Christina then asked, “Can Sonny join us for lunch today to have cheeseburgers?”

Her mom then looked at me and asked, “Sonny, can you come and have lunch with us at our home?”

I said, “Yes, I can come. Give me an address so I can find you.”

It was now time to get the money out. I gave $140 to each family. They were totally blown away as I laid the cash on their hands. Christina then asked, “Are you going to go shopping with us?”

I replied, “Yes, let’s go shopping together.”

The family said, “Before we go shopping, we need to make a list of the things that we need so that we will be careful on how we spend this money.” So they made a list before we went into the store. We then walked into the store and began shopping. Of course the manager was watching us. She signaled with her hands pointing to her eyes and pointing to me that she has been watching what I’ve been doing and she disappeared. We kept shopping and the little kids asked if they could have some cereal. The parents confirmed that we could go get cereal.  They waited to get the milk to the very end. They carefully figured out what to buy so that way they would have enough money to pay everything.

We were halfway to the check out when the manager and four kids came over. They started handing out gift cards to the families. The kids said, “These are $50 gift cards that we want to give you.”

The manager said, “The staff did this all on their own. They went out and bought their own gift cards just to give them to you.” There was another $200 that was given to both families. The manager then gave $100 gift cards to each family. They put the cash that I gave them into their pockets and wanted to use the gift cards to buy groceries. The manager wanted to make sure they were blessed and said, “Go buy groceries that you want; not just what you need.”

They went shopping again and bought some more groceries and headed towards the cash registers. Those carts were really full. They now had the money to buy it all. We got into the checkout line and had the bill all tallied. There was this man whose name was Frederick and his wife’s was Edith that came to us. Edith said, “We are the aunt and uncle of the manager. She told us your story. We would like to buy the groceries for both of the families.”

I was beginning to get emotional as I began seeing how many times God has been working in these families lives today. Edith said, “You can use that money and those gift cards at another time. But we are buying your groceries today.” One of the wives spoke up and said, “We will do that. It would be nice to have some money in the bank.”  Edith paid for the groceries then reached into her purse and pulled out her checkbook and began writing. I had no idea what she was doing and I did not try to figure it out. The manager and I walked out with the families and we went out to their vehicles to help unload the groceries.

Before I made it to the vehicle, I noticed that the kids were whispering to each other. Soon they came and tackled me and had me rolling on the grass. I sure was having fun with their kids. I then brought the kids together and prayed over them. Frederick who I think was a retired pastor then prayed over me. Edith meanwhile folded up the two checks and gave one to each family. It was getting late and I needed to go. So before anyone left, everybody was giving each other a hug. Even the manager was hugging everyone. The manager and the four employees went back into the store to get back to work. I then looked at the families and said, “God heard your prayer. You came here praying and God heard every word you said. So in your obedience, by coming here, you can see what happened.”

Each one of the sisters unfolded their check and discovered that they were made out for $1000. Again I started crying. I seem to always get emotional when God is blessing families. Later I found out that Frederick and his wife every year always bless a family around Christmas time. They always give them $1000. Now it was time for me to leave the store and head to my first gang that I was going to meet. I was about to find out I was still not finished here.

As I was pulling out of the parking lot I noticed an old couple trying to get across the street. No one would let them cross. They were physically stranded on the crosswalk. Cars were driving in front and behind them. They were old enough they could not walk very fast. The walk sign did not give them enough time to cross the double street and the cars were not courteous to them. I decided to drive my pickup parallel to the crosswalk to block the whole street so nobody could get through. It did work. It forced people to stop so the old couple continued on. I continued to drive across the center barrier to block the other side of traffic so they could finish walking across the entire intersection. A police officer saw what I was doing and did not like it. He was a young police officer and we had not met yet. He stopped me and called my license plate in to the office. When the old couple saw what was going on, she said, “You can’t give him a ticket! If it wouldn’t have been for him, we never would’ve made it across the street. Are you crazy or something?”

The officer said, “Mam,  we cannot let anyone do this. Driving sideways on the street is illegal.”

She angrily said, “I don’t care. He was being a gentleman. If you are giving him a ticket I want your name and badge because I am going to turn you in.”

I looked at her and said, “It is okay. It was worth the ticket.”

So the officer went back to the car his car with my license and registration and submitted my information. He was sitting in his patrol car a few moments. He then came back to my pickup. He apologized and said, “I am sorry Sonny. The people at the office told me who you are and what you do for this community. They told me to leave you alone.” He really felt bad. The fact that he was just a rookie, he has not learned everything yet. He then said, “I was with a partner for six months but this is my first time going solo.”

I said, “It is okay. You are forgiven. I did break the law and I wasn’t supposed to do that.”

He said, “Yeah man! You are one of those guys that can break the law and we will let it go.”

We signed off and I began to leave. The old couple signaled me to pull over. They wanted to talk to me to see what happened. I found a safe place to pull over and turn on my hazard lights. I then asked them what they wanted. She said, “Did he give you a ticket?” So I told her what happened and she said, “Wow! That is pretty awesome.”

I asked, “Where you guys going?”

They responded, “We are going to the King Soopers. It’s just down the road.”

I said, “That’s about eight blocks from here.”

She said, “Yes, that’s our exercise for the day.”

I said, “I can take you there. Even though my pickup is tall, I can still help you get inside.”

She again confirmed, “No, this is our walk for the day. It’s okay; but thanks anyway. That intersection is the hardest part of our walk.”

They then prayed for me and started walking again. They had shared with me that they always stop for coffee on the way to the store. I noticed that there was a Starbucks close by just ahead of them. I stopped there to get each one of them a cup of black coffee.  I remember them telling me about liking black coffee. I walked into the store and asked the girl behind the counter for two cups of black coffee. I am buying coffee for an older couple. They are coming this way on the sidewalk. The girl behind the counter said, “An older couple? Are they very tall?”

I said, “No, they are fairly short.”

She knew who I was talking about. She then said, “They always stop here for coffee before they make their walk to the store.” She then handed me two black coffees and said “No charge.”

I then pulled into a parking lot that was pretty close to where they were walking. I walked up to them and handed them the coffee. They said, “You got us two cups of coffee!” I nodded my head. She then asked, “How much do we owe you?”

I said, “When I told the girl at the coffee shop who they were for, she would not charge me anything.”

She then said, “Yeah that’s Maggie. She never charges us for coffee. She just never lets us pay for coffee.”

They continued walking down the sidewalk to the store drinking their coffees. I thanked God for what happened today and headed back to my pickup. It is time to pray with some gang leaders who gave their hearts to Jesus Christ. I just love it when our King blesses families as they pray to him. Just remember you are just as valuable to our King as these families. If you are financially strapped because of circumstances that you did not create, do as they do by asking our King and expect a miracle.

Little Bird Blessing

God had me go to the east side of Denver. He had me go to a King Soopers that  I’ve never been to before.  The store was in the southeast Quarter of Denver. It was a real nice store. I went and parked where God told me to. I then began to question God and asked, “What am I doing here. This looks like a pretty rich neighborhood. So why am I here?”

God said, “No Sonny! There is a family that is coming. Just sit right here.”

So I continued to sit where He told me to wait. Soon a minivan showed up. A little girl got out of the van and starts playing with her dolls on the grass. I found out later that her name was Lydia. It was not that warm outside but I guess she just wanted to do something outside. I continued watching her. A little bird landed next to her. It picked up a piece of bread that was near her and tried to fly away with it but it was too heavy. So the bird ate it there. She began folding her hands  I was still far enough away that I did not know what she was up to. God still has not told me what to do. Soon there was a station wagon that pulled up. There was another family in that car. The parents climbed out of the vehicle. There a little boy got out with them. They pulled out what appeared to be a grocery list. I noticed that the wife grabbed her purse and she pulled out something that look like anointing oil. They laid the list out on the hood of the van. She opened the bottle then put a drop on that piece of paper. The only time I had ever seen something like that was last Saturday when another family whom God blessed, anointed their grocery list. After she put her bottle away everyone gathered around and prayed over it. It was now time for me to go talk with them. I grabbed my Bible and headed over their way. Lydia saw me coming first and got up. Then she asked, “Are you a preacher or something because you have a Bible?”

I said, “Yes, I minister to gangs and to people on the streets. I saw you praying. What were you praying about?”

Lydia said, “There was a piece of bread laying there where I was playing. A little bird came to get the bread. The bird tried to fly away with the bread but it was too big. I was just thanking God for providing food for that little bird.”

Lydia was eight years old and she was thanking God for that food the bird ate.

The parents confirmed with me that they anointed the grocery list that they were going to share together. It was a small list but it was to get food to last for a week.

I said, “I have to tell you what God is doing. Blue Mustang, whom the Latinos gave that nickname, provides money for people like you to buy groceries.”

They asked, “God tells blue Mustang to give money to families so they can have groceries?”

I said, “It is not for liquor or smokes. It is for food to feed your families. That is what the money is intended for and nothing else.”

They said, “We are all Christian families and we don’t do that kind of stuff. We are praying for a miracle today because we are really hungry. We were going to come here at 9 o’clock but God said to wait till 10:45.”

When I left from eating breakfast with blue Mustang, I came directly here and I was just a couple minutes early. Blue Mustang told me that I should get going because there is a family waiting right now to be blessed. It was 9 AM when he said this. We were running a little bit behind schedule but God knew that. That is the reason why he had the family wait until 10:45 so I would have enough time to get there.

I separated the money and gave $140 to each family. They looked at me and said, “All of this for us!” To them it was like the world. They asked me to go shopping with them and I obliged. We went into the store and they began buying those things that they needed. They were being careful to stay within their budget. After they picked up the things that they could buy, we headed to the front of the store to check out.

The manager comes up to us and asked, “Are you going to go on a picnic?”

Lydia said, “No, we can’t afford that. This food has to last us a week.”

The manager started crying after Lydia revealed what was going on. This manager has a real tender heart. He saw a need and said, “You are not going to pay for any of it.”

The parents weren’t sure exactly what they heard but Lydia asked, “Does that mean I can go get cookies?”

They did not have any desserts of any kind in their cart because they were trying to be careful. The manager then said, “You know what! Why don’t you guys go shopping again but get things that you want this time. Then come back here and see me. I will take care of it. You keep that money that Sonny gave you and buy something else like gas.”

Isn’t it interesting when people see people getting blessed how they want to get in on the action. Lydia kept talking about blue Mustang and how he provided a miracle for us. Lydia then said, “We are moving too fast. We have to thank God for what he has done.”

I can tell that Lydia was a prayer warrior. She then reached out her little hands to make a circle to pray. Lydia’s dad began praying for what just happened then Lydia finished up and said, “God thank you for providing food for the little bird.”

The manager was listening to them pray and he began to cry as they prayed. He felt like he needed to leave the scene but he quickly said, “Just have fun shopping.”

The families got two more carts to put the bathroom stuff and nonfood items in. They then brought all their carts up to the front of the store to check out. They asked the manager, “Is this okay? Is this too much.”

The manager then said, “If you need to fill more carts it is up to you. I am here to take care of you.”

The assistant manager was also listening in on what was going on and said, “You are not going to do all this blessing by yourself. I am going to help with this blessing.”

The kids working in the checkout area asked, “Are we blessing somebody today?”

The manager said, “Yes we are buying these families groceries. They don’t have anything at home.”

The kids then said, “We want to be part of this blessing also.”

So the four kids that were working up front went back to their lockers to get some money. They split their money up between the two families. The families began crying because all these people were coming to their aid to bless them. There was a lot of commotion going on in the store and people were starting to ask questions. The staff said, “This family does not have any food and blue Mustang started by giving them some money. We just want to bless them and help out.”

One of the store patrons asked, “Do your vehicles need gas? I will meet you outside and fill them for you if you do. You just drive over to the gas pumps and I will meet you there.”

The families began talking to the patrons at the store and sharing what was going on because they were all curious. Lydia pointed to me and said, “This is Sonny and he is an angel. He just doesn’t have his wings on today. The other angel is blue Mustang they both helped us. It was a miracle.”

It was amazing on how many people were helping out with the blessing today but this was all orchestrated by God. With Him there are no coincidences.

The next day I called the parents to just ask how they were doing. They said, “We have more food than we can handle. All of our refrigerators and freezers are full of food. We made some breakfast burritos and shared our blessing with some homeless people on the street. We fed them breakfast and prayed over them. We know how it is to have plenty and we also know what it’s like to have nothing. If God says go bless people we are going to go bless them. We are just going to do it.”

The families are starting to get their checks now and they are going to make it. The company that they worked for shut its doors because of covid but the owner decided to pay the employees anyway. So he sent a check out to everyone of his employees even though they did not work that week. God gets the Glory and the Victory.”

Thanksgiving Families Blessing

It was Friday the day after Thanksgiving. I had breakfast with Blue Mustang because it is a holiday. After we ate, he said, “I feel our King has two families that are hungry.” Our King had me go to the King Soopers on the west side of Denver where I normally go. I parked my pickup and waited. While I was resting, I started listening to “Kingdom Music”, “Young Bro” and “Holy Ground”. They are Christian rappers who write Christian music strictly for people like the gangs I witness to. Is was not very long when God said, “Sonny, I want you to play Amazing Grace.”

East Colfax King Soopers Blessing

It was the Friday after Thanksgiving. I was heading towards Denver to pick up my supplies to witness to the gangs. God said, “Take a left here on Colfax Avenue.”

I saw a King Soopers store. I asked God, “Where are we going?”

God said, “There are families here today who are hungry.” What is so interesting about this is that Blue Mustang and I had breakfast this morning. He gave me $280 and said, “Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, I feel like God has plans to bless two families today.”

I never thought anything about it because normally we only do this on a Saturday. But Blue Mustang was right. God had plans to bless the families today. I continued to drive around the store and I noticed two parents sitting on the grass. Their kids were holding up a sign. The message on the sign said, “We are praying for a miracle. We are hungry.”

I asked God, “Is that them?” God confirmed that it was them. I pulled up close to them and parked. I continued to watch them at a 100 foot distance. Their little girl Elizabeth was facing the traffic that was coming towards them. I continued to watch but nobody stopped. I have seen many signs that people create but this is the only one I’ve ever seen like this.

Elizabeth put the sign down and then she went over to see her mom and dad. She grabbed hold of their hands and began praying. After she finished praying with her parents, they hugged her and she went back to the sign. I found out later that they only had bread and butter in the refrigerator and that was all they had to eat. The parents were working for a company that filed bankruptcy from covid and they were laid off permanently. The parents did get a severance package from the company but it wasn’t enough to survive on. So they were presently applying for new jobs.  All their other bills are paid but food was the last thing on the list when they ran out of money.

I finally got out of my pickup with my Bible and started walking towards them. Elizabeth looked to her left and saw me. She threw her sign down and came running towards me. She said, “You are our miracle aren’t you.”

I said, “Yes, I am the miracle that God sent to you. But it is because of Blue Mustang that I am here to help you.”

She exclaimed, “A car told you that!”

I said, “No, that is his nickname that the Latinos gave him.” Elizabeth had a puzzled look and murmured “Latinos”. I then said, “They are a gang from San Jose, California.”

Elizabeth responded, “Wow!”

Her parents began crying as they listened to our conversation and walked over to me.

I looked at her parents and said, “God sent me here to help you.”

Elizabeth asked, “Does that mean we get to buy groceries today? Boy do I miss having cereal.”

Her parents continued crying and shaking my hand. The parents were more curious about Blue Mustang. I told them that God shifted his heart to help gangs and bless families like you who are hungry. He gives $140 to each family and his desire is to bless two families a week. Our God is a God of numbers. God has some fascination with the number 140 and he honors it greatly. We get to see him do great blessings on a weekly basis. The parents still have not seen the money but asked, “Can we pray for Blue Mustang right now?” All the parents held hands and prayed for Blue Mustang. Then the kids prayed for Blue Mustang next. They then prayed for me. I reached into my pocket and gave each family $140. They looked at me and then said, “This is going to buy us a lot of groceries today. We don’t buy the name brands. We only buy the generics.”

I then said, “Make sure you buy only what you need. God always reminds me to tell everyone to buy what they need but not what they want.”

A white construction van pulls up. The guy driving the van got out and said, “Little girl, I saw your sign that said “Praying for a miracle. We are hungry.” I should’ve turned around right away but I didn’t. I drove almost 7 miles and God said, “Turnaround, you need to go back and help that family.”

He then looked at the families and asked them if they lived together. They said, “We live in the same complex but different apartments.” They shared with him also what happened and how they got laid off work from Covid.

The business owner asked if they had jobs and they confirmed they did not but were applying for work right now. He then asked, “What did you guys do?”

They answered, “We are cabinet builders.”

He said, “That’s funny. I’m in the construction business. Do you guys know how to hang them?”

They said, “Yes, we build them and then we would hang them for the company that we worked for.”

He then asked, “If I get the cabinets, will you hang them for me? I build apartment complexes and we hang a lot of cabinets. I can’t keep anybody working. No one wants to help me. Would you men want a job?”

They said, “Yes, we will take it.”

He said, “I will pay you guys $21 an hour. If you stick with me for six months I will give you $25 an hour. If you stick with me for a full year, I will give you $30 an hour.”

They said, “We will definitely stay with you for a year. We both have families to take care of.”

The businessman said, “I am a Christian man and I do not allow smoking and drinking.”

They said, “We are Christians also.”

He then said, “I saw this man giving you money.” He then reached into his pocket and pulled out his checkbook. He then said, “Go into the store and get what you need.” All of a sudden he changed his mind and said, “You know what! Let’s go shopping together and then I will pay for it.” I was watching him and he was still writing something out on the checks.

Elizabeth said, “We were praying for a miracle but God is just pouring miracles on to us.” She started listing all the things that happened with her parents: getting jobs, money for food, etc.. She then said, “It just couldn’t get any better. It is just an awesome miracle. God answered our prayers.”

I said, “God is faithful. You have not because you ask not but you have asked and he has given. God heard your cry. For whenever two or more are gathered in his name, God is there.”

One wife said, “Things are sure working out great today.” The contractor handed each family a folded check. As they entered the store, the curiosity of one wife made her ask her husband what is on the check. He husband unfolded the check and said, “It’s made out for $1000.” The other husband checked his check. It was for $1,000 also. Everyone started crying when they realize what he did. They are not even working for him yet. This contractor definitely had a Kingdom heart. The contractor grabbed four shopping carts and told the families to fill them up. He said, “Get what you need and also get what you want.” I even started crying after this was all unfolding. The families all started shopping but none of them went crazy. Both of the wives got out their lists and pretty well followed them. I observed that they wrote “the miracle list” on the top of each one of their lists. They said, “When the miracle comes, this is what we’re going to get.” Pretty soon all the carts were filled up and we headed to the checkout line. This is the first time I’ve ever been at this King Soopers ever. I’ve driven by it many times but my King has never brought me here before. The manager knows the contractor because he shops here frequently.

The manager said, “James, what are you doing here?”

The contractor said, “I am blessing people.”

The manager figured out who he was blessing. Soon he walked over to the cashier and started whispering something into her ear. She rang up the first family but she said I am supposed to put everything on one bill. The bill finally came up and the contractor was ready to hand the cashier his card. The charge was almost $700 for all four carts. The manager pushed the contractor’s card away. He said, “I want to be part of this blessing.” The manager paid for the whole thing. The manager loves the Lord. He said, “You bless them and I want to bless them also.”

Elizabeth went up to the manager and said, “This is Sonny and his best friend is Blue Mustang.” I always love it when kids speak. They never sugarcoat anything. Their hearts are so honest.

The families were bound together by brother and sister. That’s how they knew each other so well. Elizabeth just loves to pray. God gets the Glory and the Victory.

Krispy Kreme Miracle

God sent me to the King Soopers on 144th Ave. in Denver and I parked my pickup and sat there for a moment. I then asked, “God, when is this family going to show up?”

God said, “Look to the right. You are missing it.”

I looked over to my right which happened to be east. I asked, “God is that the families?” The wives of each family are sisters. God instructed me they would be on the east side of the parking lot.

God replied, “Yes, that is them.”

The little girl, whose name is Lizzie, went running to the van. She reached inside and grabbed what appeared to be her Bible and brought it back to the family. She opened it up and began reading it. I was still far enough away that I could not tell what she was reading. I decided it’s time to get out of my pickup and go meet them. Lizzie saw me walking towards her. She stepped my way and said, “My name is Lizzie. You must be a Christian because you are carrying a Bible also.”

I said, “Yes, I love God.”

Lizzie said, “I can tell. I can see the truth on you.”

It was amazing the way she spoke. I asked how old she was and she said that she was seven years old going on eight. She then said, “I was born one day after Christmas. It is such a bummer.”

I said, “No, everybody is focused on Christmas until it’s finally over with. Now they can focus on you.”

Lizzie thought about what I said and replied, “Yes, you are right. I am special.”

I then asked, “What Bible verse were you reading to your family? I saw you reading the Bible.”

Lizzie said, “I read John 3:16 to them.”

I asked her if she could read it again. So she picked her Bible up and read it to me. She said, “16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

I asked, “Can you imagine that? That is real love for God to do that.”

Lizzie then asked, “Why did you come to us?”

Everybody was beginning to stare at me because they were all curious. I said, “Well, first I have to tell you that Jesus is faithful. I’m telling you that he loves you and that is why I am here. And another reason I am here is because of Blue Mustang.”

Lizzie then exclaimed, “That is a car!”

It just never fails when I tell little kids about Blue Mustang. I then said, “Blue Mustang gives me money to bless families each weekend for groceries. That is the reason why you are praying here today. You do not know what to do about groceries today.”

Then Lizzie said, “So Blue Mustang gives you money and tells you to go out and find people to give them money? Does that mean that I can get cereal?”

I said, “Yes, you can get some cereal.”

Lizzie sighed and said, “I have not had cereal for four days now.”

I started tearing up when she shared that. Her Mom said, “We went back to work and the company my husband works for shut down again because of covid. We have not been paid for three weeks and it will still be another week before anything comes in. We are trying to figure it all out. We were just thinking that we should go into the store and talk to the manager. We hoped that he would give us some food and we could pay him back later. But we just do not know how to present our dilemma to him.”

I said, “You do not have to say anything to him now. God has now provided money for both of your families.”

The families then asked, “So he gives you $280 to give us?” They paused to try to understand what God was about to do. They then asked, “So God told you that we are the families that are hungry?”

I replied, “It’s just not anybody. God always directs me to families like you who are praying. He has taken me many places like the King Soopers here, Walmart, gas stations and even into an open field. Wherever God says to go, I go there.”

They then asked, “How do you hear God’s voice?”

I said, “It is not about a religion. it is about a relationship with Jesus Christ. He talks to me and I listen.”

The Mom said, “Lizzie told me this morning that if we go to the grocery store that maybe God will provide food for us because there is food in the stores. Let’s just go there. After Lizzie said that, we decided to come to this store to pray for a miracle.”

Samuel, their little boy interjected, “Does that mean we can get Oreo cookies and milk? We only get dessert once a month. We cannot get dessert all the time. If we do get dessert, we usually go to Dairy Queen and get their Oreo cookie blizzard.”

They asked me to pray for them because they were really hungry. The second she said that, a white van pulled up next to us. A bunch of teenagers jumped out and asked, “Would you guys like some Krispy Kreme donuts? We are just blessing people today.”

Lizzie said, “God is faithful! And yes, we will take them.”

The teenagers then prayed for both families. Then they laid out a box of crispy cream donuts on a table. I said, “Oh my gosh! Those are the best donuts in the world. Especially when you get a fresh box of them.”

I could tell they were fresh because the boxes of donuts were still warm. One of the Dads started cutting the donuts. The teenage girls said, “You can have a whole one. It’s okay. You do not have to share one.”

The families were large enough to warrant getting out another box. Of course I had to have one. The youth pastor then asked, “What is going on here?”

Lizzie then said, “This man and we cannot forget Blue Mustang brought us money so we could buy groceries. We were about to ask the manager of the store for help.” Lizzie did not sugarcoat anything. The girls from the youth group began to cry. Both the boys and the girls went to the other side of the van. You could still hear the girls crying. Lizzie grabbed her Bible and she went over where the kids were at. I could see her being a minister in the streets. God has shown me that she has the heart for the broken and the lost.

Lizzie disappeared behind the van for a short time. What is interesting on both sides of the van it is written “God hears your prayers. He is listening to you.” Lizzie then asked the youth pastor and the teenagers if she could pray for them. The youth pastor and the teenagers then prayed for the families.

The youth pastor prayed, “God will provide all of our needs. God is faithful. God provide everyone here their needs. But most of all, if their names are not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life that today will be the day of their salvation. I ask this in the name Jesus. Amen.”

The men of the family said, “All of us are Christians and we love the Lord. Like you said we came here in faith. We are not walking by sight.”

The youth pastor then asked, “How much gas do you have in your vehicles?”

One husband said, “My pickup has ¼ of a tank. I do not know how much my sister-in-law has.”

She looked and replied, “It is empty.”

The youth pastor then said, “When we are done here we will go and fill everything up.”

The teenage kids began walking around the van towards the families. They said, “We have been praying and asking God to direct us. We asked him about giving you money so you can buy groceries. We would love to go grocery shopping with you.”

Lizzie then said, “This extra money will take care of everything.”

The teenagers divided the money they collected from each other. It came out to be $150 to each family. I had already given each family $140. The families  began crying out of control. The youth pastor then said, “What a fantastic miracle that just happened. God is showing you that he is faithful. He listens to your prayers. Do not give up.” The youth pastor paused then said, “Use our money to help buy groceries. This money that we have given you is for whatever you need. I am still going to fill up your vehicles but let’s go inside the store. I want to take you grocery shopping.”

Lizzie then looked at me and asked, “Sonny, can you go shopping with us? You can watch me buy some cereal.” She held out her hand and we went into the store.

The manager noticed me walking by. Then she pointed her two fingers at her eyes and then pointing the two fingers towards me. That’s her signal that she is watching me bless these families. Each family grabbed a grocery cart. The youth group and I both grabbed a grocery cart. Lizzie’s brother was getting tired of walking and he asked to ride inside my grocery cart.

As we were walking down the condiments aisle, Lizzie asked, “Have you ever had dill pickles with potato chips.?”

I said, “That is such a good snack.”

Lizzie said, “I wish we could get some pickles.”

I said, “That sounds good. I am going to get some pickles for myself.” Then we went to the potato chip aisle and I picked up some potato chips.

Lizzie figured out what I was up to and asked, “Are you getting that for me?”

I said, “Yes. You are going to have some tonight whenever you want.”

All the families filled up both grocery carts. My cart just had the food they wanted but didn’t need. They were good at making sure that they only got the things they needed. The last thing we picked up was the ice cream.

Lizzie said, “If I had a spoon, I would dig into that ice cream right now.”

I looked at her and asked, “You have not had lunch yet. You just had breakfast which was Krispy Kreme donuts.”

She replied, “Yeah, but we have not had any ice cream for over a week.”

The manager started ringing up the grocery carts. The manager started sharing with the families that whenever Sonny and this Blue Mustang come into the store, they always are blessing people who are hurting. The manager then said, “Whatever money you have keep it.” The manager was about ready to pay for their groceries when this gentleman, who was standing next to us, asked the manager where the restroom was. As the manager was pointing where the restrooms were located, the wife of the old gentleman put her credit card into the credit card machine. The manager then caught a glimpse of them doing that and asked, “What are you guys doing?”

The old gentleman said, “God told us to pay for their groceries for what ever reason.”

The manager inquired, “So your husband was strictly a distraction so you could do that?”

The old lady said, “This is not the first time around the block for us.”

These families really got blessed. They do not have to pay for groceries today. That manager looked at the old couple and said, “It looks like I’m just gonna have to wait for Sonny to bring in another family. I want to make sure I beat you with the credit card next time.”

I just love what God does. God is faithful. You just cannot stop praying. Yes, God does know my heart and he does know what I’m going to say tomorrow. But the blessings do not appear until we speak it. You have not because you ask not. Whenever you have needs continue to speak it out. Even though Jesus knows our needs but as the Scripture says you ask not and you receive nothing.

Lizzie’s final words were, “When we receive something from God, we need to thank him for it. Before the carts left the store, Lizzie prayed over every cart and thanked God for what was in them. I cannot wait till next week when God will bring us more families to bless.

The only reason why God does this is because he loves us so much and he loves to hear us pray to him for our needs. I continue to remember that it is God who does this. God needs to receive the Glory and the Victory.

Blessing Three Families

I went down to the King Soopers where I normally go to. But this time things were a little bit different. I saw a van but there appeared to be only a Mom and her two kids. I watched her as she walked around to the passenger side of the van. When she opened the door, she held on to her kid’s hands and started praying. God said, “She has two other families living with her. They have come here to see what food they can buy with what they have. They are hurting! ”

I then walked up to her and asked, “How can I pray for you guys?”

She said, “We’re trying to stretch out $42. Including myself, there are three families in my home. I have both my sister and brother’s family living with me right now. We are struggling to make it. They all have jobs but they will not start for another two weeks. So we are really hurting right now.”

I prayed with her that God would stretch this money out so they could buy groceries. I then said, “Let me tell you about what God says about your situation. I also want to tell you about Blue Mustang how God uses him in this ministry.”

Her daughter Martha said, “Blue Mustang, that’s a car. My dad has a white Mustang.”

I said to Martha that the Latinos gave Blue Mustang his nickname because he has a Blue Mustang. Martha said, “That is so cool!”

I said, “Yeah, Blue Mustang gives me $280 each weekend to bless two families with. But God says today you guys need it all.”

Ruth, Martha’s mom said, “You are giving me $280 so that we can buy groceries.”

She then started crying out of control. Martha then hugged her mom because she was crying so much. After Ruth composed herself a little bit she said, “We have been praying to God that he would multiply this amount that we had somehow.”

I said, “God heard your prayer. That is the reason why I am here. But I would not be here if Blue Mustang was not obedient to God. God wants him to bless his people so they can buy groceries. This money is supposed to be used for food only. It is not for smokes or liquor.”

Ruth said, “Oh no! We are Christians. We don’t drink or smoke.”

I then said, “Why don’t we pray that God would even multiply this.”

I usually just hold my Bible and don’t make any effort to try to hold anybody’s hands but I felt this little hand reach out and grab my hand. Martha reached out to hold my hand. Martha started praying first and said, “Jesus, thank you for being so faithful. In Jesus name, Amen!”

Martha was only 7 years old but I could tell she loved God. Ruth hugged me and said, “This is a miracle. You have restored my faith.”

I then said, “It was Jesus who restored your faith.”

Ruth said, “Yes, my faith has been pretty weak but now it has been restored.”

She then took a piece of paper out and made a grocery list. She looked at me and said, “I am going to follow this list.”

We both went inside the store where we split up. We each picked up the things that we needed. I needed to stock up on more Dr. Pepper and water for the gangs I was going to meet today. I was getting near the checkout line when I started to witness to some Spanish guys that were in the store. I noticed that Ruth was getting ready to check out and the manager started pointing at me. Ruth said, “Yes that’s him.” The manager then reached into his wallet and paid for their groceries. When we were outside praying, that manager must have seen me pray over her. He definitely knew what was going on.

I went outside where I met up with her again. She came up to me and said, “That manager would not let me pay. He said that Sonny over there is always blessing people. He is like that guy Blue Mustang.” Then she told me what Martha said:

Martha spoke to the manager and said, “It is not a car. It is actually a man. My Dad has a white Mustang but the Latinos never gave him a cool nickname.” Then Martha asked, “How can we pray for you? I know Jesus does miracles every day. I want to pray for you.” At that moment the manager began to cry.

What Ruth said made me think; What if Blue Mustang and I were not obedient. These things would never have happened. The family may have missed out on a blessing and the manager may have never known who Ruth was. So it is important that we always continue to stay obedient to our King. Our obedience changes the destiny of people.

Ruth then said, “We now have enough money to put gas in the van. When my brother and sister start working, I will give them money to fill their cars to get to work.” Ruth was thinking how to spend God’s money wisely. I reminded her that it was God who orchestrated all this and to give him the Glory and the Victory. It is important that all the families staying with you know where the blessings come from.

Even before God told me that this was the family, I saw them praying. That was a clue that these we’re the ones to receive the blessing. You may someday see someone praying for a miracle. This will be your opportunity to change someone’s life.
