Thanksgiving Families Blessing

It was Friday the day after Thanksgiving. I had breakfast with Blue Mustang because it is a holiday. After we ate, he said, “I feel our King has two families that are hungry.” Our King had me go to the King Soopers on the west side of Denver where I normally go. I parked my pickup and waited. While I was resting, I started listening to “Kingdom Music”, “Young Bro” and “Holy Ground”. They are Christian rappers who write Christian music strictly for people like the gangs I witness to. Is was not very long when God said, “Sonny, I want you to play Amazing Grace.”

I said, “Yes! That is my favorite song.” I started playing it and began worshiping God again. Whenever I worship God, I usually have my eyes closed. I did not see anything going on in my surroundings, but soon I heard this knocking on my door. I opened my eyes and looked out the windows but I could not see a thing. I sat up a little bit more in my seat then I noticed a little girl standing by my door. I opened my door and she said, “Mister, can you play that song a little louder? That is our favorite song at home.”

I said, “Yes, I will start the song over and play it louder. I turned the volume to a much higher level. I got out of my pickup and closed the door. It was definitely loud. The song continued to play as I watched the little girl walked back to her family. Her family began to sing along. They did not have a very good tone but they were just worshiping God. They did not care who was listening. They just continued to worship God. When the song finished, I turned it off. I then went over to speak to them. I said, “That sure is a powerful song.”

The husband said, “Not only is that a powerful song but that really brings peace to us. The grace of God is so faithful, he loves us, and we came here for miracle. God showed up when you started playing that song. That is a miracle. We came here because we are hungry. We do not have very much food. We came here to see if we could talk to the manager. We are going to see if we could buy groceries today and pay them back on Friday.”

I said, “Let me tell you about Blue Mustang and what God is put into his heart for families like you…”

There was only one family present at this time. A second car then pulled up as I was speaking. It was the wife’s sister. Both of the wives of each family were sisters. They too were in the same boat. He lost his job. The company he worked for went under. She said, “We came here today to pray with you. Maybe we can receive a miracle too.”

Her sister said, “Sonny was going to tell us about this guy Blue Mustang: in what God has put in his heart.”

I began to tell them about Blue Mustang and how God uses him to buy groceries for families in need. The little girl, Christina said, “He even walks barefoot even in the winter.”

I said, “Yes and he always wears shorts year-round.”

Christina replied, “That must be one tough dude.”

Christina began telling the other family about my pickup and how it would play “Amazing Grace” from the outside. She said, “He has this sound system that sounds so sick. I just love it.” You know this new generation sick means totally amazing. Christina then asked, “Mister can you play that song again?”

I climbed back in my pickup and restarted the song for them. I played the entire song again. This time it was different. The two sisters were the only ones singing. What came out of their mouths was beautiful. It was the husbands that were bad singers. The families then asked, “So was it Blue Mustang that sent you here to bless us?”

I said, “God gives money to Blue Mustang so I can give it to families who are hungry.”

They then said, “So you guys are a team from God.”

I said, “That is true but God has given Blue Mustang a heart of giving to bless families like you.”

Christina then said, “Not only is he rich here but he is rich in God’s Kingdom.” Everybody just looked at her and asked where she learned that. Christina said, “I learned that in Sunday school.” Her words were so profound that I began crying.

Christina then asked, “Mom, does that mean that we can grill some cheeseburgers?” That was Christina’s favorite meal.

Her mom said, “Yes, we will get some hamburger and cheese to make cheeseburgers.”

Christina then asked, “Can Sonny join us for lunch today to have cheeseburgers?”

Her mom then looked at me and asked, “Sonny, can you come and have lunch with us at our home?”

I said, “Yes, I can come. Give me an address so I can find you.”

It was now time to get the money out. I gave $140 to each family. They were totally blown away as I laid the cash on their hands. Christina then asked, “Are you going to go shopping with us?”

I replied, “Yes, let’s go shopping together.”

The family said, “Before we go shopping, we need to make a list of the things that we need so that we will be careful on how we spend this money.” So they made a list before we went into the store. We then walked into the store and began shopping. Of course the manager was watching us. She signaled with her hands pointing to her eyes and pointing to me that she has been watching what I’ve been doing and she disappeared. We kept shopping and the little kids asked if they could have some cereal. The parents confirmed that we could go get cereal.  They waited to get the milk at the very end. They carefully figured out what to buy so that way they would have enough money to pay everything.

We were halfway to the check out when the manager and four kids came over. They started handing out gift cards to the families. The kids said, “These are $50 gift cards that we want to give you.”

The manager said, “The staff did this all on their own. They went out and bought their own gift cards just to give them to you.” There was another $200 that was given to both families. The manager then gave $100 gift cards to each family. They put the cash that I gave them into their pockets and wanted to use the gift cards to buy groceries. The manager wanted to make sure they were blessed and said, “Go buy groceries that you want; not just what you need.”

They went shopping again and bought some more groceries and headed towards the cash registers. Those carts were really full. They now had the money to buy it all. We got into the checkout line and had the bill all tallied. There was this man whose name was Frederick and his wife was Edith that came to us. Edith said, “We are the aunt and uncle of the manager. She told us your story. We would like to buy the groceries for both of the families.”

I was beginning to get emotional as I began seeing how many times God has been working in these families lives today. Edith said, “You can use that money and those gift cards at another time. But we are buying your groceries today.” One of the wives spoke up and said, “We will do that. It would be nice to have some money in the bank.”  Edith paid for the groceries then reached into her purse and pulled out her checkbook and began writing. I had no idea what she was doing and I did not try to figure it out. The manager and I walked out with the families and we went out to their vehicles to help unload the groceries.

Before I made it to the vehicle, I noticed that the kids were whispering to each other. Soon they came and tackled me and had me rolling on the grass. I sure was having fun with their kids. I then brought the kids together and prayed over them. Frederick who I think was a retired pastor then prayed over me. Edith meanwhile folded up the two checks and gave one to each family. It was getting late and I needed to go. So before anyone left, everybody was giving each other a hug. Even the manager was hugging everyone. The manager and the four employees went back into the store to get back to work. I then looked at the families and said, “God heard your prayer. You came here praying and God heard every word you said. So in your obedience, by coming here, you can see what happened.”

Each one of the sisters unfolded their check and discovered that they were made out for $1000. Again I started crying. I seem to always get emotional when God is blessing families. Later I found out that Frederick and his wife every year always bless a family around Christmas time. They always give them $1000. Now it was time for me to leave the store and head to my first gang that I was going to meet. I was about to find out I was still not finished here.

As I was pulling out of the parking lot I noticed an old couple trying to get across the street. No one would let them cross. They were physically stranded on the crosswalk. Cars were driving in front and behind them. They were old enough they could not walk very fast. The walk sign did not give them enough time to cross the double street and the cars were not courteous to them. I decided to drive my pickup parallel to the crosswalk to block the whole street so nobody could get through. It did work. It forced people to stop so the old couple continued on. I continued to drive across the center barrier to block the other side of traffic so they could finish walking across the entire intersection. A police officer saw what I was doing and did not like it. He was a young police officer and we had not met yet. He stopped me and called my license plate in to the office. When the old couple saw what was going on, she said, “You can’t give him a ticket! If it wouldn’t have been for him, we never would’ve made it across the street. Are you crazy or something?”

The officer said, “Mam,  we cannot let anyone do this. Driving sideways on the street is illegal.”

She angrily said, “I don’t care. He was being a gentleman. If you are giving him a ticket I want your name and badge because I am going to turn you in.”

I looked at her and said, “It is okay. It was worth the ticket.”

So the officer went back to the car his car with my license and registration and submitted my information. He was sitting in his patrol car a few moments. He then came back to my pickup. He apologized and said, “I am sorry Sonny. The people at the office told me who you are and what you do for this community. They told me to leave you alone.” He really felt bad. The fact that he was just a rookie he has not learned everything yet. He then said, “I was with a partner for six months but this is my first time going solo.”

I said, “It is okay. You are forgiven. I did break the law and I wasn’t supposed to do that.”

He said, “Yeah man! You are one of those guys that can break the law and we will let it go.”

We signed off and I began to leave. The old couple signaled me to pull over. They wanted to talk to me to see what happened. I found a safe place to pull over and turn on my hazard lights. I then asked them what they wanted. She said, “Did he give you a ticket?” So I told her what happened and she said, “Wow! That is pretty awesome.”

I asked, “Where you guys going?”

They responded, “We are going to the King Soopers. It’s just down the road.”

I said, “That’s about eight blocks from here.”

She said, “Yes, that’s our exercise for the day.”

I said, “I can take you there. Even though my pickup is tall, I can still help you get inside.”

She again confirmed, “No, this is our walk for the day. It’s okay; but thanks anyway. That intersection is the hardest part of our walk.”

They then prayed for me and started walking again. They had shared with me that they always stop for coffee on the way to the store. I noticed that there was a Starbucks close by just ahead of them. I stopped there to get each one of a cup of black coffee.  I remember them telling me about liking black coffee. I walked into the store and asked the girl behind the counter for two cups of black coffee. I am buying coffee for an older couple. They are coming this way on the sidewalk. The girl behind the counter said, “An older couple? Are they very tall?”

I said, “No, they are fairly short.”

She knew who I was talking about. She then said, “They always stop here for coffee before they make their walk to the store.” She then handed me two black coffees and said “No charge.”

I then pulled into a parking lot that was pretty close to where they were walking. I walked up to them and handed them the coffee. They said, “You got us two cups of coffee!” I nodded my head. She then asked, “How much do we owe you?”

I said, “When I told the girl at the coffee shop who they were for, she would not charge me anything.”

She then said, “Yeah that’s Maggie. She never charges us for coffee. She just never lets us pay for coffee.”

They continued walking down the sidewalk to the store drinking their coffees. I thanked God for what happened today and headed back to my pickup. It is time to pray with some gang leaders who gave their hearts to Jesus Christ. I just love it when our King blesses families as they pray to him. Just remember you are just as valuable to our King as these families. If you are financially strapped because of circumstances that you did not create, do as they do by asking our King and expect a miracle.

Thanksgiving 2021

During the week prior to Thanksgiving, God made plans to take Thanksgiving dinner to Marcus’s gang in Denver. I made arrangements to get the two turkeys and the food that goes with a Thanksgiving meal and to have it ready by Thanksgiving. It is now Thanksgiving morning and I am heading to Denver with what I picked up at Costco. I am going to pick up the rest of the food in Denver. After I had my pickup fully loaded, I headed to Marcus’s home. When I knocked on the door, I had a turkey in one hand and a tray box in the other. I knocked on the door with my foot again to get someone to open the door. Marcus opened the door holding a double barrel shotgun. Marcus hates me because I talk about Jesus Christ too much. They keep telling me that they do not want to hear about Jesus then they throw me on the ground. The earth and I have seen each other face to face many times. I have also been slammed against my pickup many times. But when I showed up at their home things were different. They were very hostile at first. Marcus asked, “What are you doing here Sonny? We do not want to hear about Jesus Christ.”

Then Marcus noticed the food I was carrying. He asked, “Is that a turkey that you are holding?”

I said, “Yes, it is cooked and it is ready to eat. I have brought you and your men two turkeys for Thanksgiving dinner. Today, we know is Thanksgiving. I want to bring a good meal to you and your men.”

Marcus still couldn’t believe what he heard and repeated, “So you really brought us two turkeys for Thanksgiving.”

I said, “Yes, I also have everything that goes with a turkey dinner. In my pickup I have a cooler filled with pop and water, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole with bacon on top, biscuits, corn bread and for dessert I brought pumpkin pies. God told me to bless my enemies by preparing a feast for them. Even if you guys don’t like me, I am still here to bless you.”

Marcus then took the lid off the tray that I had in my other hand. He looked inside and said, “Man that sure looks good. Just put it over there on the table.”

His mindset changed as he discovered that I had food for him and He knew they were hungry. I then said to Marcus, “I need some help. I have a lot of food in my pickup.”

Marcus then said, “Boys, go help Sonny bring the food in.”

So they came out and helped me bring in all the food. After everything was brought inside, I started setting out all the plastic plates silverware and plastic glasses. When the table was set, I started carving the turkey. As I worked on the turkey, I was praying out loud thanking God for the food. I then prayed for the young men around me. I began looking around the room as I was speaking to God and I noticed several of Marcus’s men had their eyes closed. I had not prayed for the meal yet but I was just physically thanking God for all the wonderful things that he does in my life. I then thanked him for the people who help me in this ministry. I specifically prayed for Blue Mustang for providing the food for this meal. After I mentioned Blue Mustang, I also noticed some of the men began talking. One man looked at another man and said, “Who in the world is this Blue Mustang?” I wanted to laugh between me and God but I continued praying out loud. I finally said “Amen” as I finished the prayer. One of the gang members said, “I have never heard anybody pray like that. I usually hear prayers that always start out with ‘My Father who art in heaven’.”

I said, “There is nothing wrong with that prayer. Our Lord Jesus Christ himself prayed that. It is a simple but very powerful prayer so you can learn how to talk to God. Praying is really just like talking to him. But God likes it when you talk to him from your heart. You do not have to be perfect. Pour your heart out to God. That was basically just what I was doing when I was carving the turkey.”

He replied, “That was still a pretty good prayer.”

Marcus came to me and said, “I want to show you something.” He took me over to the refrigerator and opened the door. Inside the refrigerator was three slices of cheese, a package of baloney, two pickles and some mayonnaise. That was the entire contents of his refrigerator. He then opened up the freezer which contained nothing but ice.

I looked at Marcus and said, “The Lord knew that you were hungry. That is why God told me to go prepare a meal before my enemies. But know this; I don’t want you to be enemies. I want you to be Christian brothers so that we can fight the fight together. We don’t want to fight each other but we want to fight for the Kingdom of God.”

As I said that, three of his men started crying. In fact, you can tell that the Holy Spirit was really working in their hearts. I said, “My King knows about every tear that is running down your face.”

One man replied, “Does God know everything about me?”

I said, “Yes he does.” He replied, “I have sinned a lot against God. I don’t think that God will ever forgive me.”

I said, “Yes, he will forgive you. All you have to do is ask.”

At this moment, Marcus said, “I want to eat now. I am getting hungry.”

I said, “Okay men. Let’s eat!”

As I was still carving on the turkeys, the gang members began loading up their plates. Everything was good to them. They all had their full plates as they began eating. The pies were still in the refrigerator from Costco. As they continued eating, I continued sharing the word of God with them. I walked around and began praying for each one. God revealed to me what was in each man’s hearts as I prayed. Each man listened to what I prayed for. None of them told me to walk away and to leave them alone. They listened and they kept nodding their heads agreeing with me as God revealed things to me about them, agreeing with what I prayed. Some of them questioned me. Francisco a gang member asked, “How did you know that? I did not tell you about anything.”

I said, “That is what my King showed me. I am just repeating to you what God said. I myself don’t know you because I have only seen you three times. The only thing I know about you is that you body slammed me three times and that is all I know.”

Francisco said, “I am so sorry that I hurt you. I am never going to do that to you again. Not when you’ve done what you have done today by bringing all of this to us.”

I noticed some of the gang members were sitting in the corner real quiet. They had tears coming down their eyes while they were eating. I went over to talk to that group. I said, “I noticed that you have tears running down your face. What is going on?”

One man said, “You tell me. When you are praying for the guys, God was showing you what was going on in their lives. What is God showing you about me?”

I said, “You are missing your family. You are thinking about past Thanksgivings spending time with your grandparents and family and all the fun things you did. You are missing all of that. You should call your parents and wish them a Happy Thanksgiving.”

After Marcus was full, he went to his room. He was gone for a while to do something. Shortly he came out and said, “Sonny, I need to talk to you man.” I walked over with him and we sat down in one of the corners of his home. Marcus then said, “I want to give my heart to Jesus Christ. I am done with this kind of life. When you brought us this food this morning something happened in my heart.  It reminded me about the times I had Thanksgiving with my parents, Grandparents and family. I don’t know about my men but I am ready.”

As Marcus gave his heart to Jesus Christ, he began crying. His gang noticed and asked, “What is going on? Why are you crying?”

Marcus replied, “I don’t know about you but this lifestyle is over for me. I am going to give my heart to Jesus Christ. It is up to you guys what you want to do but I have made my decision. You need to decide if you still want to be a gang. I miss my family and I want to go back home. God has a purpose for me and for you.”

Before Marcus gave his life to Jesus Christ he just ordered his men around. But now he was having a one-on-one conversation with them. Now he is crying in front of his men. Before he was always stone faced and serious. You definitely can see a transformation in Marcus as the Holy Spirit shifted his heart.

Marcus’s men began thinking about what just happened.  They said, “You know I have been missing my family also.”

Some of them then said, “I have already called my parents to have them come and get me.”

One at a time they started coming to me. I said, “If any of you want your name written in the Lamb’s book of Life, come and stand to my right.” They started coming as soon I made the comment.

They all began crying as they lined up. They asked, “What is going wrong with us?”

I said, “It is Jesus Christ penetrating your hearts.”

Marcus took a deep breath and said, “I finally feel peace in my heart. I do not feel that anger anymore. I have no desire to beat up or rob someone like before. Now that my heart belongs to God, I want to make a difference.”

By now everyone in Marcus’s gang gave their hearts entirely over to Jesus Christ. With all that power of God in the room, it became quite warm. We all headed outside to cool off.

As we were all standing outside, Marty’s gang shows up. I found out when Marcus was in his room before he made his commitment to accept Jesus Christ, he invited Marty to come over. Marty asked, “You guys are not hurting Sonny are you? I know Sonny.”

Marcus said, “No! Sonny brought us Thanksgiving dinner. Are you guys hungry?”

Marty was puzzled and repeated the question, “Are you hungry?” because he did not know what that meant.

Marcus said, “Yes, we are not fighting anymore. Sonny brought his food and we gave our hearts to Jesus Christ.”

Marty exclaimed, “You gave your hearts to Jesus Christ!”

Marcus said, “Yes and our families are coming to get us.” Marcus paused to compose his thoughts then said, “Marty, I want to ask for forgiveness for everything that I have done to you and your men.”

Just two weeks ago they got into a big fight. God had me separate them by driving my pickup right down the middle of their battle lines. Both sides had their pistols drawn towards each other and they were shouting obscenities at each other. Each side was waiting for the other side to make the first move.

Marty said, “We just fought two weeks ago and I cannot even remember why we were fighting.”

Marcus said, “That is all in the past. I am looking forward to the future. Right now, I’m just telling you that I am going home. I have given my heart to Jesus Christ. Marty, today is the day of salvation. Tomorrow is never promised even for me.”

Marty then said, “I also have been thinking about going home. I am tired of this kind of life.”

Marcus said, “Let’s go inside and eat. We have plenty of food for you.”

Marcus and Marty walked together into the house. Marcus was tearing up while he was talking to Marty. Marty grabbed a plate and filled it with food. As he was thinking about sitting down he said, “It is time for me to give my heart to Jesus Christ also. I am tired of this life. I am tired of fighting all the time. I never know what tomorrow is going to bring.”

Marty then looked at his men and said, “You guys can do whatever you want. But as for me I’m giving my heart to Jesus Christ. I am done with this life. Whatever you decide is not up to me but it is between you and God. If you want to give your heart to him today that would be great.”

His men then said, “It would be nice to be able to get a meal every day. It would also be nice to see our families again.”

I then prayed for Marty and his men. While this was going on, a whole bunch of cars began showing up. They were friends and family from Marcus’s side. It has not been long enough yet for Marty’s families to show up. Marcus and his boys just ran outside to greet their parents. I could hear one man excitedly say “My mom is here.” There was a lot of hugging and crying going on out in front of the house. I stepped out and you could sense the power of God working out there between the families and the gang members. I can hear the men say “I’ve given my heart to Jesus Christ. I am not a gangster anymore. I want to be a difference. I now have a purpose like Sonny said.”

They begin pointing me out to their parents. They then said, “He would bring us food and we would either beat him up or just leave. He continually brought us food and we would always spurn him but he would never give up on us. But today, he brought us Thanksgiving dinner. That changed my whole heart when I began thinking of past Thanksgivings.”

One of the sons asked, “Mom have you accepted Jesus Christ in your heart.” She confirmed that she had not. He then said, “I am going to be a Christian.”

She has never heard about Jesus Christ and asked, “How do you do that?”

He then shared with her everything what I had told him. She gave her heart to Jesus Christ along with her son.

Marty then gave his life to Jesus Christ. Everyone in the room began crying. Marty’s gang began calling their family because they too were ready to go home. We finished eating Thanksgiving dinner and went back outside. Up to this point, no one has had dessert.

When Marty’s parents started to come for him, he asked, “Sonny, could you pray for my dad. When I left home six years ago, my dad was an alcoholic. My dad always beat me and I just couldn’t take anymore. That is the reason why I left home. Will you pray for him?”

I said, “Yes, I will pray for him.” I prayed for Marty and his dad. Marty was watching outside when his dad and mom arrived. They both got out of the car but his dad was carrying a Bible. Marty looked at me and excitedly said, “My dad is carrying a Bible!”

I said, “Marty, I can tell he loves Jesus Christ. Just look at his face!”

Marty took off and ran towards his parents. He embraced his dad when they met. It was very emotional. They both started crying as they held each other. His dad immediately asked Marty for forgiveness for what he did. Marty then asked for forgiveness from both his mom and dad for what he did. His siblings also came along. They too started crying as the Holy Spirit began mending their hearts. Marty told his dad that he wanted his dad to see him give his heart to Jesus Christ before going home. It wasn’t as though he wanted to brag but he wanted to show his parents that he was serious about making a commitment to Jesus Christ and change his life. There was a lot of activity going on between the parents and their sons.

As everyone was talking outside, Carlos and his gang showed up. He got out of his car and said, “You know what; we decided to take a drive just to see what you guys were up to.” Carlos looked around and asked, “Are you guys having a party? I just remember two weeks ago when you guys were fighting. And now you’re having a party? What is going on here? I don’t even know what brought me here.”

Marty said, “Marcus invited us over today for Turkey.”

Marcus then stepped in and asked, “Are you guys hungry? We have plenty to eat here.” Marcus started a list of all the stuff that was in the house to eat for Thanksgiving.

Carlos replied, “Thanksgiving dinner!” He still did not understand what was going on.

Marcus said, “Sonny, brought it to us. There were also a lot of people behind the scene who made this all happen just for us. And it was all delicious.”

Carlos looked at me and said, “Sonny, why didn’t you invite me to this party.”

I said, “I did. You are here aren’t you? God brought you here.”

Carlos said, “Yes, we are hungry.”

All three gang leaders began walking back to the house. Marcus then told Carlos that he has given his heart to Jesus Christ. Marty then confirmed that he also gave his heart to Jesus Christ. Carlos said, “What you guys are not gangsters anymore? That means we are not going to fight each other anymore!”

Both Marcus and Marty agreed there is going to be no fighting anymore.  There were a lot more parents who were showing up at this time. Marcus’s neighbors Noah and Ruth became curious and they came over. Ruth brought over pies. They went up to Marcus and said, “We brought you some apple and cherry pies for Thanksgiving.”

Marcus began to realize all the things that these neighbors have been trying to do for him and said, “I know we have been your neighbors a long time and we have not made much of an effort to talk to you. We ask for forgiveness for that. Those pies sure look good.”

Ruth said, “To be honest with you, we were scared of you. You carried pistols all the time. But we are not scared today. Today is Thanksgiving and we want to bless you.” Ruth paused then asked, “How did you like the cookies I left on your front porch?”

Marcus said, “I was wondering who was leaving those cookies. They were always delicious and greatly appreciated.”

I looked over to my left and I could see that all of Noah’s family was on the front porch looking in trying to figure out what was going on. Soon all the grandkids started coming over trying to figure out what the parents were up to. The grandkids really did not have any fear because they do not understand pistols.

Marty came up to Noah and said, “You guys remind me of my grandparents. I have not seen them for a long time.”

Carlos said, “Let’s eat.” Both Marty and Marcus along with their men began serving Carlos’s gang. I could hear the pans rattling as all the food was being cleaned up. There was now nothing left as Carlos and his men sat down to eat.

Marcus looked at me and said, “I have not experienced this much peace in my life, ever.”

After Carlos’s men finished eating, Noah and Ruth along with some parents began cutting the pies for dessert. I had brought huge Costco pumpkin pies but some of the gang hated pumpkin. That is why God had Ruth bring only apple and cherry pies.

Marcus then went to Carlos and asked, “Please forgive me for anything that I may have done wrong to you. I know that we hurt you bad and if you feel like you cannot forgive me that’s okay.  Sonny told me that if we do not forgive others our heavenly Father will not forgive us. I do not want to be in that boat and possibly spend my entire life in the Lake of Fire.”

Marcus’s neighbors, parents and all the gang members were all listening to Marcus speak. Carlos began crying after Marcus asked for forgiveness. Carlos had a lot of sin in his own life. Carlos said, “Can God really forgive me for all the things I have done. I have done a lot of bad things in my life. I have hurt a lot of people. You can ask any of these guys here today and they will tell you that I did not show any mercy.”

I said, “Jesus has shown mercy to you.”

Marcus then interjected, “He died on the cross for us but he rose again in three days. That’s what the Bible says.”

Carlos was really emotional as the Holy Spirit began the transformation of his heart but once he completely gave his life to Jesus Christ it was over. It brought peace to his life. When Carlos’s men saw him change they wanted what he had.

Carlos was watching what was going on around him and said, “Boy that must be nice having your parents hug you. I have not seen my parents in close to four years now. They probably won’t hug me.”

I said, “You won’t know that unless you call them. Invite them over.”

Carlos said, “I’m going to go do that.” He walked over to his car which was a restored red and white 1956 Chevy. He sat down in the driver seat and made the call. He was in there for quite a while. Pretty soon Carlos’s parents were coming to get him. I also notice that the parents of his men began showing up. They too were all requesting to go home. Carlos finally got out of the car and said, “Boys, I’m done with this life. I want to go home. I do not want to do this anymore.”

It was now time for the entire last gang to give their hearts to Jesus Christ. Noah excused himself and went back to his garage. He then backed his truck up to Marcus’s home. It contained full boxes of Bibles. Noah then started handing out Bibles to all the men.  We were getting low on Bibles when a white van showed up that had more Bibles in it. I have seen this van before.  I asked myself, “Who are these people? They follow me everywhere. They always bring Bibles just at the right time.”

Everybody here received a Bible. There were still more parents and families that are still coming. I prayed for anybody that needed prayer. When the parents arrived it looked more like a party. They would ask, “What is going on here? I’m just here to pick up my son.”

I always replied, “Your son just gave his life to Jesus Christ.”

I was not sure how many people got saved that day but it was difficult to stop crying when I realized how many broken hearts were fixed today by the power of the Holy Spirit. By now it is late and I began to get ready to go home.

Three gangs gave their hearts to Jesus Christ on Thanksgiving Day. They were once enemies. Now they are Christian brothers under Jesus Christ. Carlos said, “Sonny thank you for never giving up on us. Every time I would see you, both you and Blue Mustang would feed us.”

I returned from the drive and noticed that Ruth and Noah brought all three leaders together and put their hands on them.  Noah began praying for them. I noticed there grandkids were there to but they still seemed to be a little scared because the men still had their pistols. After they finished praying, the parents started to disciple these men. They had churches that they might want to go to and people who help them in their walk with Jesus Christ. The parents then turned to me and said, “Sonny, thanks for not giving up on our sons.”

I said, “God has never given up on me. I am never going to give up on them either. I myself am never going to be perfect until I am in his presence. My name is in the Lamb’s book of Life. You have to continually stand against the enemy using the word of God. You cannot do it by yourself.”

Marty commented, “Everybody keeps talking about this Blue Mustang. He must be a pretty cool dude. He must have a Kings heart like Sonny.”

I too said, “If it wouldn’t be for him, I could not afford to bring all this food to you guys. I just bring the word of God to you guys.”

They said, “God supplies just like you said Sonny.”

I said to myself they are already learning. Many times when I am speaking to these guys I don’t think that they are paying attention. But they have been listening to every word that I speak. Just remember if God calls you to do something even though you don’t think you’re making a difference continue to be obedient because you will see what I am seeing here today.

Carlos then asked, “Sonny have you ever driven a 56 Chevy before?” I confirmed that I had not. Carlos then threw me the keys and said, “Why don’t you drive it around the block a bit.” I climbed into his car. If you’ve ever been in an older car they used not to have power steering. This thing had a huge steering wheel. It was beautiful how he restored it. He added air conditioning to this car. In a lot of the older cars air conditioning was either not available or was an option. He had a cool sound system installed. It sounded really amazing. It had a manual transmission and the ability to make the car go up and down. I did not want to damage his beautiful car so I just left that switch alone. Now I physically started it and put it in gear. I took my time as I drove around the block. It sure was fun to drive an old classic. It was getting late and I said good bye to everyone and went home to get some sleep. But I was about to find out my night was about to change.

My return to Denver Thanksgiving night

On Friday at 1 a.m. all three gang leaders asked me to come to Carlos’ home to pray for their families. They all loved their families and wanted them to also have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and asked for my help. His parents had a large beautiful home with a five car garage.  I went into a room where the families of the three gang leaders were hanging out. I said, “Those of you that have not accepted Jesus Christ and want to accept him as your personal Savior come over here and stand on the right side.”

Almost the whole crowd came over and stood on my right hand side. Marcus then asked, “Sonny, do you think that I could pray for some of my cousins. I am not sure if I know what to do.”

I said, “Marcus, go ahead and do whatever God tells you to do. You know the sinners prayer.”

So Marcus began praying for some of his family. All of them gave their hearts to Jesus Christ there in that room. When the families saw what happened to their sons, they began to understand the importance of knowing Jesus Christ. They saw the difference that Jesus Christ made in their son’s life. Before they knew Jesus, they were tough and selfish. And now they’ve been transformed into entirely different people that show kindness and love for those around them. Jesus Christ is the only one who is capable of making such a transformation because only he can change hearts. I began seeing all the broken lives in the parents coming forward. Again it was difficult to keep from crying because when the Holy Spirit moves it is so powerful. God gets the glory and the victory

Marty Asks to speak with me  Friday Afternoon

On Friday Marty asked to speak with me. I met him at one of the parks where he would frequent. As I was speaking with Marty, Marcus drove up to us. Marcus got out and said, “I figured you’d be here at the park where you usually come on these nice days. I brought your cooler back. You will need to bring pop and water to other gangs. I am so sorry for taking this cooler from you.” Marcus did a good job of washing and cleaning up the cooler. Two of his brothers that were with him helped load it into my pickup because it was full of Dr. Pepper and water on ice. They carried it over and put it on the back of my pickup. Marcus then said, “Sonny, every time I would walk by the cooler God would convict me. He showed me that you are using this cooler to reach souls for the Kingdom of God. I felt so guilty that I just had to get rid of this cooler. So I filled it with Dr. Pepper and water just to show how sorry I am.”

Marcus then left because he needed to make plans to clean up the house. A lot of people went back to Marcus’s home to help clean up. Noah’s brother had a business where he had dump trucks. He brought two of them to the home so they could clean up. Most of the furniture they had in the house was free stuff they got off the street. Almost everything was trashed. They got everything loaded on one dump truck. They said they only needed one but Noah’s brother wanted to make sure they had enough trucks. Noah’s brother even paid the dumping bill. The home was in excellent condition when they finished. Marcus came to me and said, “While we’re throwing out the trash, I took the cushions off the couch. To my surprise, I found the hundred dollar bill I lost a while back. It was lurking beneath one of the couch cushions.”  Marcus was still so appreciative that he felt like thanking me again for bringing him back to his family. I reminded him that it was God who brought me to you in the first place. Marcus said, “Yeah, I know but still we would beat you up and you continued to love us. You were never afraid to tell us about Jesus Christ. That does take a lot of guts.” Marcus then took that hundred dollar bill he had put in his wallet and gave it to me saying, “Sonny apply this hundred dollars to the ministry. Go buy some donuts for the next gang.”

His dad was watching everything that he did and said, “Who would’ve ever thought that my son would do something like that.” His dad saw how Jesus Christ has been transforming his son’s heart in such a short period of time.

Marcus then said, “I may not be Blue Mustang but at least I can still be part of that army.”

It was getting late in the day. I then went back out on the streets and started to witness to some more gangs that my King had already planned for me to meet.

Praying for Marcus Marty and Carlos

On Wednesday, I met with Marcus, Marty and Carlos just to pray with them. Boy what a transformation when I met them. They were all clean-cut with haircuts. Before they gave their hearts to Jesus Christ every one of them carried a ponytail. I said, “Man, you guys got some haircuts.”

They said, “Yeah man, we just don’t want to look like we used to.”

Carlos then said, “Sonny, I have a lot of tattoos and a lot of them don’t look good.  I have been thinking about getting my tattoos removed. I don’t think that God likes them.”

I said, “God is interested in your heart. Let those tattoos be a testimony to other people about God’s Kingdom.

Carlos said, “That brings peace to my spirit.”

I said, “When you die, you will not be taking those tattoos with you. God will be giving you a new body.”

Carlos said, “Does that mean that I am going to be taller.”

I said, “Yeah, you definitely will be taller.”

Carlos’s final words to me were, “Sonny, thanks for never giving up on us.”

Our King definitely knows how to throw a Thanksgiving party. He truly loves us to spend that kind of time on these men just to bring them into his Kingdom. God gets the Glory and the Victory.

Krispy Kreme Miracle

God sent me to the King Soopers on 144th Ave. in Denver and I parked my pickup and sat there for a moment. I then asked, “God, when is this family going to show up?”

God said, “Look to the right. You are missing it.”

I looked over to my right which happened to be east. I asked, “God is that the families?” The wives of each family are sisters. God instructed me they would be on the east side of the parking lot.

God replied, “Yes, that is them.”

The little girl, whose name is Lizzie, went running to the van. She reached inside and grabbed what appeared to be her Bible and brought it back to the family. She opened it up and began reading it. I was still far enough away that I could not tell what she was reading. I decided it’s time to get out of my pickup and go meet them. Lizzie saw me walking towards her. She stepped my way and said, “My name is Lizzie. You must be a Christian because you are carrying a Bible also.”

I said, “Yes, I love God.”

Lizzie said, “I can tell. I can see the truth on you.”

It was amazing the way she spoke. I asked how old she was and she said that she was seven years old going on eight. She then said, “I was born one day after Christmas. It is such a bummer.”

I said, “No, everybody is focused on Christmas until it’s finally over with. Now they can focus on you.”

Lizzie thought about what I said and replied, “Yes, you are right. I am special.”

I then asked, “What Bible verse were you reading to your family? I saw you reading the Bible.”

Lizzie said, “I read John 3:16 to them.”

I asked her if she could read it again. So she picked her Bible up and read it to me. She said, “16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

I asked, “Can you imagine that? That is real love for God to do that.”

Lizzie then asked, “Why did you come to us?”

Everybody was beginning to stare at me because they were all curious. I said, “Well, first I have to tell you that Jesus is faithful. I’m telling you that he loves you and that is why I am here. And another reason I am here is because of Blue Mustang.”

Lizzie then exclaimed, “That is a car!”

It just never fails when I tell little kids about Blue Mustang. I then said, “Blue Mustang gives me money to bless families each weekend for groceries. That is the reason why you are praying here today. You do not know what to do about groceries today.”

Then Lizzie said, “So Blue Mustang gives you money and tells you to go out and find people to give them money? Does that mean that I can get cereal?”

I said, “Yes, you can get some cereal.”

Lizzie sighed and said, “I have not had cereal for four days now.”

I started tearing up when she shared that. Her Mom said, “We went back to work and the company my husband works for shut down again because of covid. We have not been paid for three weeks and it will still be another week before anything comes in. We are trying to figure it all out. We were just thinking that we should go into the store and talk to the manager. We hoped that he would give us some food and we could pay him back later. But we just do not know how to present our dilemma to him.”

I said, “You do not have to say anything to him now. God has now provided money for both of your families.”

The families then asked, “So he gives you $280 to give us?” They paused to try to understand what God was about to do. They then asked, “So God told you that we are the families that are hungry?”

I replied, “It’s just not anybody. God always directs me to families like you who are praying. He has taken me many places like the King Soopers here, Walmart, gas stations and even into an open field. Wherever God says to go, I go there.”

They then asked, “How do you hear God’s voice?”

I said, “It is not about a religion. it is about a relationship with Jesus Christ. He talks to me and I listen.”

The Mom said, “Lizzie told me this morning that if we go to the grocery store that maybe God will provide food for us because there is food in the stores. Let’s just go there. After Lizzie said that, we decided to come to this store to pray for a miracle.”

Samuel, their little boy interjected, “Does that mean we can get Oreo cookies and milk? We only get dessert once a month. We cannot get dessert all the time. If we do get dessert, we usually go to Dairy Queen and get their Oreo cookie blizzard.”

They asked me to pray for them because they were really hungry. The second she said that, a white van pulled up next to us. A bunch of teenagers jumped out and asked, “Would you guys like some Krispy Kreme donuts? We are just blessing people today.”

Lizzie said, “God is faithful! And yes, we will take them.”

The teenagers then prayed for both families. Then they laid out a box of crispy cream donuts on a table. I said, “Oh my gosh! Those are the best donuts in the world. Especially when you get a fresh box of them.”

I could tell they were fresh because the boxes of donuts were still warm. One of the Dads started cutting the donuts. The teenage girls said, “You can have a whole one. It’s okay. You do not have to share one.”

The families were large enough to warrant getting out another box. Of course I had to have one. The youth pastor then asked, “What is going on here?”

Lizzie then said, “This man and we cannot forget Blue Mustang brought us money so we could buy groceries. We were about to ask the manager of the store for help.” Lizzie did not sugarcoat anything. The girls from the youth group began to cry. Both the boys and the girls went to the other side of the van. You could still hear the girls crying. Lizzie grabbed her Bible and she went over where the kids were at. I could see her being a minister in the streets. God has shown me that she has the heart for the broken and the lost.

Lizzie disappeared behind the van for a short time. What is interesting on both sides of the van it is written “God hears your prayers. He is listening to you.” Lizzie then asked the youth pastor and the teenagers if she could pray for them. The youth pastor and the teenagers then prayed for the families.

The youth pastor prayed, “God will provide all of our needs. God is faithful. God provide everyone here their needs. But most of all, if their names are not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life that today will be the day of their salvation. I ask this in the name Jesus. Amen.”

The men of the family said, “All of us are Christians and we love the Lord. Like you said we came here in faith. We are not walking by sight.”

The youth pastor then asked, “How much gas do you have in your vehicles?”

One husband said, “My pickup has ¼ of a tank. I do not know how much my sister-in-law has.”

She looked and replied, “It is empty.”

The youth pastor then said, “When we are done here we will go and fill everything up.”

The teenage kids began walking around the van towards the families. They said, “We have been praying and asking God to direct us. We asked him about giving you money so you can buy groceries. We would love to go grocery shopping with you.”

Lizzie then said, “This extra money will take care of everything.”

The teenagers divided the money they collected from each other. It came out to be $150 to each family. I had already given each family $140. The families  began crying out of control. The youth pastor then said, “What a fantastic miracle that just happened. God is showing you that he is faithful. He listens to your prayers. Do not give up.” The youth pastor paused then said, “Use our money to help buy groceries. This money that we have given you is for whatever you need. I am still going to fill up your vehicles but let’s go inside the store. I want to take you grocery shopping.”

Lizzie then looked at me and asked, “Sonny, can you go shopping with us? You can watch me buy some cereal.” She held out her hand and we went into the store.

The manager noticed me walking by. Then she pointed her two fingers at her eyes and then pointing the two fingers towards me. That’s her signal that she is watching me bless these families. Each family grabbed a grocery cart. The youth group and I both grabbed a grocery cart. Lizzie’s brother was getting tired of walking and he asked to ride inside my grocery cart.

As we were walking down the condiments aisle, Lizzie asked, “Have you ever had dill pickles with potato chips.?”

I said, “That is such a good snack.”

Lizzie said, “I wish we could get some pickles.”

I said, “That sounds good. I am going to get some pickles for myself.” Then we went to the potato chip aisle and I picked up some potato chips.

Lizzie figured out what I was up to and asked, “Are you getting that for me?”

I said, “Yes. You are going to have some tonight whenever you want.”

All the families filled up both grocery carts. My cart just had the food they wanted but didn’t need. They were good at making sure that they only got the things they needed. The last thing we picked up was the ice cream.

Lizzie said, “If I had a spoon, I would dig into that ice cream right now.”

I looked at her and asked, “You have not had lunch yet. You just had breakfast which was Krispy Kreme donuts.”

She replied, “Yeah, but we have not had any ice cream for over a week.”

The manager started ringing up the grocery carts. The manager started sharing with the families that whenever Sonny and this Blue Mustang come into the store, they always are blessing people who are hurting. The manager then said, “Whatever money you have keep it.” The manager was about ready to pay for their groceries when this gentleman, who was standing next to us, asked the manager where the restroom was. As the manager was pointing where the restrooms were located, the wife of the old gentleman put her credit card into the credit card machine. The manager then caught a glimpse of them doing that and asked, “What are you guys doing?”

The old gentleman said, “God told us to pay for their groceries for what ever reason.”

The manager inquired, “So your husband was strictly a distraction so you could do that?”

The old lady said, “This is not the first time around the block for us.”

These families really got blessed. They do not have to pay for groceries today. That manager looked at the old couple and said, “It looks like I’m just gonna have to wait for Sonny to bring in another family. I want to make sure I beat you with the credit card next time.”

I just love what God does. God is faithful. You just cannot stop praying. Yes, God does know my heart and he does know what I’m going to say tomorrow. But the blessings do not appear until we speak it. You have not because you ask not. Whenever you have needs continue to speak it out. Even though Jesus knows our needs but as the Scripture says you ask not and you receive nothing.

Lizzie’s final words were, “When we receive something from God, we need to thank him for it. Before the carts left the store, Lizzie prayed over every cart and thanked God for what was in them. I cannot wait till next week when God will bring us more families to bless.

The only reason why God does this is because he loves us so much and he loves to hear us pray to him for our needs. I continue to remember that it is God who does this. God needs to receive the Glory and the Victory.

Blessing Three Families

I went down to the King Soopers where I normally go to. But this time things were a little bit different. I saw a van but there appeared to be only a Mom and her two kids. I watched her as she walked around to the passenger side of the van. When she opened the door, she held on to her kid’s hands and started praying. God said, “She has two other families living with her. They have come here to see what food they can buy with what they have. They are hurting! ”

I then walked up to her and asked, “How can I pray for you guys?”

She said, “We’re trying to stretch out $42. Including myself, there are three families in my home. I have both my sister and brother’s family living with me right now. We are struggling to make it. They all have jobs but they will not start for another two weeks. So we are really hurting right now.”

I prayed with her that God would stretch this money out so they could buy groceries. I then said, “Let me tell you about what God says about your situation. I also want to tell you about Blue Mustang how God uses him in this ministry.”

Her daughter Martha said, “Blue Mustang, that’s a car. My dad has a white Mustang.”

I said to Martha that the Latinos gave Blue Mustang his nickname because he has a Blue Mustang. Martha said, “That is so cool!”

I said, “Yeah, Blue Mustang gives me $280 each weekend to bless two families with. But God says today you guys need it all.”

Ruth, Martha’s mom said, “You are giving me $280 so that we can buy groceries.”

She then started crying out of control. Martha then hugged her mom because she was crying so much. After Ruth composed herself a little bit she said, “We have been praying to God that he would multiply this amount that we had somehow.”

I said, “God heard your prayer. That is the reason why I am here. But I would not be here if Blue Mustang was not obedient to God. God wants him to bless his people so they can buy groceries. This money is supposed to be used for food only. It is not for smokes or liquor.”

Ruth said, “Oh no! We are Christians. We don’t drink or smoke.”

I then said, “Why don’t we pray that God would even multiply this.”

I usually just hold my Bible and don’t make any effort to try to hold anybody’s hands but I felt this little hand reach out and grab my hand. Martha reached out to hold my hand. Martha started praying first and said, “Jesus, thank you for being so faithful. In Jesus name, Amen!”

Martha was only 7 years old but I could tell she loved God. Ruth hugged me and said, “This is a miracle. You have restored my faith.”

I then said, “It was Jesus who restored your faith.”

Ruth said, “Yes, my faith has been pretty weak but now it has been restored.”

She then took a piece of paper out and made a grocery list. She looked at me and said, “I am going to follow this list.”

We both went inside the store where we split up. We each picked up the things that we needed. I needed to stock up on more Dr. Pepper and water for the gangs I was going to meet today. I was getting near the checkout line when I started to witness to some Spanish guys that were in the store. I noticed that Ruth was getting ready to check out and the manager started pointing at me. Ruth said, “Yes that’s him.” The manager then reached into his wallet and paid for their groceries. When we were outside praying, that manager must have seen me pray over her. He definitely knew what was going on.

I went outside where I met up with her again. She came up to me and said, “That manager would not let me pay. He said that Sonny over there is always blessing people. He is like that guy Blue Mustang.” Then she told me what Martha said:

Martha spoke to the manager and said, “It is not a car. It is actually a man. My Dad has a white Mustang but the Latinos never gave him a cool nickname.” Then Martha asked, “How can we pray for you? I know Jesus does miracles every day. I want to pray for you.” At that moment the manager began to cry.

What Ruth said made me think; What if Blue Mustang and I were not obedient. These things would never have happened. The family may have missed out on a blessing and the manager may have never known who Ruth was. So it is important that we always continue to stay obedient to our King. Our obedience changes the destiny of people.

Ruth then said, “We now have enough money to put gas in the van. When my brother and sister start working, I will give them money to fill their cars to get to work.” Ruth was thinking how to spend God’s money wisely. I reminded her that it was God who orchestrated all this and to give him the Glory and the Victory. It is important that all the families staying with you know where the blessings come from.

Even before God told me that this was the family, I saw them praying. That was a clue that these we’re the ones to receive the blessing. You may someday see someone praying for a miracle. This will be your opportunity to change someone’s life.

Families Delivered from Dumpster

It is Saturday morning and my King had me head to a King Soopers on the east side of Denver. When I arrived at the store, I headed to the parking lot like I normally do. But God said, “No, you need to go to the back of the store.”

That caught me off guard because of the habit of doing it the way he had always had me do it. I have learned that my King has sent me to many different places. This is no different. I drove around to the back of the store where the dumpsters were located. I noticed that there were two families in the back. One family with three kids worked on one dumpster. Another family with two kids worked on the other dumpster. It looked like one dumpster contained their old produce. The other dumpster contained the rest of the trash. They knew the schedule of the store and they were waiting for them to bring the outdated meat outside. As I continued to watch them work the dumpsters, God said, “Sonny, those are the families I want you to bless. Go get them.”

I just started crying because this was so sad to see what was happening here. I parked a short distance from them and I walked up to them with my Bible in one hand. When I got near them, they said, “Good morning.” They were somewhat embarrassed but I feel they encountered other people before so they are are starting to get used to this. I didn’t ask them how they were doing but I asked, “Are you guys hungry?”

They replied, “Yes, we’re waiting for them to throw stuff away so that way we can get some more groceries.”

I then said, “If somebody would come to you and tell you that someone gave them money to buy groceries, how would that make you feel?”

One wife replied, “That would be an answer to prayer. We are really hurting. My husband has been laid off because they closed his business down again because of Covid. People are panicking way too much. This is preventing him from going to work.”

She then pointed me to the other family and said, “They only moved here two weeks ago. He gets paid monthly not weekly so he has to wait a full 30 days to get a paycheck.”

I said, “Yikes! That sure does have to hurt.” I paused a Moment then said, “Let me tell you about Blue mustang and how God…”

Julie, her daughter interrupted and said “That’s a car!”

The little kids just don’t get it. I continued explaining to the family who Blue Mustang is and they exclaimed, “Wow! Does God really tell him to give money to families like us to buy groceries?” The 11 year old son chimed in and said, “He is like a Christian Santa Clause!”

I said, “Yes, God has given him a heart for his Kingdom.” It is now time to bless the families. I then said, “Everyone come by my pickup. I have some hand sanitizer in my pickup and I will get your hands all cleaned up.”

After messing in the dumpsters their hands were getting pretty dirty. I then prayed with them that God would bless them and encourage them. I finished up saying, “God never abandons us. You will never walk alone. God knows that you are hungry and he will always provide.”

Then Julie said, “Let us not forget about the Christian Santa Claus, Blue Mustang. Bless him and his family and do not let him get hungry like us.”

I began to cry. What she said just penetrated my heart. Both families were crying also. After I collected myself, I said, “Let’s get ready to go inside.”

Before they went back to their vehicles, God said, “Sonny, it is now time to give them their money.”

I was thinking about giving the money to them in the store. But God said, “Give it to them now! What are you waiting for!”

I handed each family $140. They said, “Man, that is a lot of money.” They were so grateful for what they received. Julie looked at her Dad and said, “Remember Dad, Mom said that it is a blessing.”

Her Dad said, “Yes, you are right. It is a blessing.”

Both families hugged me again and they moved their vehicles to the front of the store. I was getting ready to leave and let them do their own shopping when the kids all asked me to go shopping with them. I acknowledged to them that I would love to go shopping with them. We all walked into the store together and each family grabbed a cart. Both families were careful with what they bought. They were only getting the things that they needed.

The manager then comes up. I had no idea who he was. He asked, “I see that you guys are doing some shopping.” As he said that, I could see tears coming down his eyes.

I then asked him how he was doing and of course he said he was doing okay. He paused for a minute as he continued looking at me. He then said, “I listened to everything you said outside. I heard every word that you said. I also listened to every word that the children said. I have seen these families here three times this week. I have actually put red tags on good meat just to help them out. I knew that they were hungry. God brought conviction to my heart when I heard what they were saying and what you said about Blue Mustang.”

Julie then stepped in and said, “He is not a car. He is a real person.”

The manager then asked the families if they had a place to live and they confirmed that they did. He then said, “Continue to enjoy your shopping. My wife is coming in about 20 minutes to meet you. Don’t worry about what it’s going to cost. You both get what you want and what you need.”

The kids exclaimed, “Does that mean that we can get cookies and ice cream? Maybe we can even get cereal.” For kids all this stuff is huge.

The manager then reiterated what he said before, “Just get what you want and get what you need. I will meet you up front when you are ready to check out.”

I wanted to pray with the manager and Julie said, “Let’s hold hands.”

We all got in a circle and began praying with all the people shopping around us in the store. We just did not care what other people might have thought. Julie said, “You know this is just like celebrating Christmas. Everyone is giving gifts to us. This is just so awesome.”

The parents were becoming emotional with the scope of miracles that were occurring. Two employees also came up with some extra gift cards. They had one for each family. They too, overheard everything that I said.

It was interesting how God orchestrated all this. At the appointed time that I arrived to talk to the families, the manager was getting ready to take something outside. That is when he heard me talking to the families. He just stood there with the door cracked listening to everything. At the same time the employees were curious what the manager was up to and they started moving towards him. They too started listening. Almost every employee in the back of the store was listening to what was going on outside.

The manager was flabbergasted when the employees did that. Most of them were young and mostly high school age. To sacrifice that money that they make for these families was totally amazing. Most young people want everything that they make for themselves. The manager then said, “May God bless you guys for what you’ve done.”

The kids went back and they brought two more grocery carts. The kids said, “We want you to fill these two carts up too. We will pay for these also.”

In the meantime the manager’s wife showed up. And she said that she wanted to pray for the families. She then paid for all the carts of the families. One cart was a little over $300 and the other was just a little less than $300. Next, more of the younger employees all started showing up. They all pitched in and said, “We just got you some more gift cards. This is just in case you need gas.”

That ended up being another $150 in gift cards for each family. The manager then looked at the families and said, “Do not ever go back there again! You come and look for me.” At that moment he handed them his business cards. He then said, “You always call and make sure that I’m here. I want to make sure that you never have to go back there again.”

By now both families are crying at such a wonderful miracle they received from God. Julie asked, “Does that mean that we do not have to eat from the trash can anymore?”

When she brought that up, I lost it again as I began thinking about her rummaging through the dumpster. She then said, “We are celebrating Christmas in October. It is so awesome.” She then looked at her Dad and said, “I remember you telling me that we should always pray and thank God for our blessings. I know that we have thanked these people but we have not thanked our God. I understand that God sent these people to us.”

I was amazed how well Julie spoke of spiritual things. I asked her how old she was. She said, “I am seven years old. Can’t you tell!”

I said, “You sure know a lot about God.

Julie then said, “I learned it all from my Mom and Dad. I learned more from my Dad because my Mom is shy when she prays in front of other people.”

Her Mom verified that Julie was correct. She then said, “Not anymore. Let us thank God right now.”

The mom started praying thanking God for everything. She prayed boldly to our King.

It was so cool seeing each family taking two carts of food to each one of their vans. You know what is amazing about all this is when God told me to go to the back of the store, it started a chain reaction of events. As I was telling the families about how God sent me here, the manager happened to be coming outside. He heard the message that God sent me to the families. That in turn as he was listening, the employees began wondering what he was doing. They moved in closer until they heard what was going on. That inspired them to bless the families with gift cards. So the lesson learned is to be obedient to God. He knows how to bring a plan together to orchestrate a bigger blessing. I know, I see my King do this for his families all the time. I can only deliver his blessing. It is his and he gets the Glory and Victory.

Frisbees Bring Gang to Jesus

I just finished blessing two families and I am headed to pick up the 12 dozen burritos that my ladies have made for me. To this point God still hasn’t told me where to go so I started praying to him to show me where I should take these burritos. After I finish praying, God said, “Sonny, go to the park in Commerce City. The gangs will be there.”

I have been there many times before so I was curious to see who was there. When I arrived, there were three gangs already facing each other. These guys weren’t holding baseball bats or knives. They all had pistols drawn and were pointing them at each other. And they were having a shouting match, accusing each other of certain things. God said, “Sonny, drive your pickup on the grass now! Go right between all three gangs and separate them.”

I have learned that in this kind of a situation I don’t have to worry about anybody chasing me off the grass. It is amazing, when pistols are drawn there is no law enforcement of any kind present. So I immediately drove my pickup right between all three gangs. I was moving so fast that a few of them even had to move out of the way so they would not be hit. I caught them off-guard and they yelled, “What the hell are you doing?”

Now their pistols were pointed in my direction. Pablo was the leader of one of the gangs that I have been witnessing to for two years. Pablo knew me very well and he came up and said, “Sonny, what are you doing here man. You need to move your pickup out of the way. We are fixing to shoot everybody here. These guys were planning on shooting us so we are going to shoot back.”

I said, “No man! I can’t do that.” I looked at the other gangs and turned back to Pablo. I then said, “I have a gift for all of you.”

Soon the other leaders started moving in and began asking, “What is going on here? Who are you? You are in the way!”

I said, “I made a way. My King said to come here. That is why I am here.”

They were not sure what I was talking about. They then asked, “What do you want?”

I said, “I need some help to get this box out of my backseat.” One leader said, “All right, we will help you. I just cannot wait till we start shooting this pickup all up.”

I said, “It’s okay, but first let me give you your gift.”

That leader sent two of his men to get the box out of the back of my pickup. I had the box all covered with duct tape. I asked, “Do any of you guys have a knife?”

About 30 guys already had their knives open ready to have at the box. They started carefully opening the box with their knives. When they pulled the flap back, one man said, “It is full of Frisbees!”

I said, “Those are for you guys.”

I reached into the box and started throwing frisbees at all the guys. One of the men said, “Man, do you know how long it’s been since I’ve thrown a frisbee?”

Pretty soon there were frisbees flying everywhere. They were hitting my pickup and they were hitting other gang members. One guy was playing football. He would send a couple of guys out, then he would try making a pass. Those frisbees changed the whole atmosphere that day. When I got there, they were ready to shoot each other, now they’re playing frisbee with each other. You are probably wondering why I had frisbees in my pickup.

My King knew that there would be a solution to what was going on today. He had me go to Walmart earlier and pick up the frisbees. You are right, I was clueless on how this would unfold but my King already had an amazing plan in place. When I got there, the manager said, “I just put them all in the back because this time of year people don’t buy frisbees.”

I said, “I need all the frisbees that you have. If you have at least 30 that would be great but I will take more.”

We continued walking to the back of the store and started looking for the box. Then the manager said, “Let me look and see what’s in this box.” As he started messing with the box, he asked, “What are you doing with all these frisbees?”

I said, “God wants me to buy frisbees for the gangs I am meeting today. This will prevent them from killing each other.”

The manager then said, “Man, that is so super cool!” The manager then grabbed a marker and put “Rejects” on the box. He then looked at me and said, “Take them. I will walk you outside so you do not have to pay for them. That is the coolest idea I have ever heard of in my whole life. I want to be part of that blessing also.”

Going back to the park, all the gangs were continuing to have fun chucking frisbees. God then told me to get the coolers and food out. I placed all the food and the drinks out on the back of my pickup. Then I yelled, “Are you guys hungry?”

They yelled back, “We definitely are hungry!”

I told them what I had in the coolers and mentioned that the burritos are spicy. So be careful so you don’t get the screamers. These are going to be the best burritos you probably have ever eaten. As they began to eat, they continued to throw frisbees. Everyone put their pistols away. I climbed up in the back of my pickup and started reading the Bible loudly. The men then asked, “Are you a preacher?”

I said, “Only when I’m awake but when I’m asleep I’ve got to have my rest.”

He smiled and then asked, “Is it true that Jesus came and died for us even though we weren’t even born yet?”

I said, “Yes, he knew you even before you were born. He knew that you would be standing right here today.”

Pablo came over and said, “Sonny, will tell you that Jesus loves you. I used to beat him up and he would still get up and say Jesus loves you and I forgive you.” He paused for a moment and then said, “Sonny, I’ve been thinking a lot about how much I’ve been missing my family. I want to go back to them but I don’t know if they are going to accept me.”

I have been witnessing to this guy for over two years. Now today he’s ready to give his heart to Jesus Christ. Pablo then looked at his men and said, “I am done being a gangster. If you guys want to continue you can be gangsters but I’m finished. I am going home but first I am giving my heart to God.”

His men thought about what he just said. They all began to tell themselves they were missing their families also. The whole gang then gave their lives to Jesus Christ right in front of the other two gangs.

The other gangs then started asking questions. They looked at me and asked, “So you brought us frisbees and you brought us food just because Jesus loves us?”

I said, “Jesus loves you guys very much. He has a different purpose for your lives than what you are doing right now. He does not want you to shoot each other but he wants you to have fellowship with each other. You don’t have to fight each other. Just do what this other gang did.”

One of the leaders said, “We do a lot of trading with girls. God will never forgive that.”

I said, “Yes, he will. But you have to ask him first before he will forgive you.”

Pablo joined me and said, “God will forgive you. He will bring peace to your heart like he did to me today. Before I leave, I would love to pray for you guys right now.”

I said to myself, “This is amazing! He just became a Christian today and he’s already wanting to pray for the people he was about to shoot.”

Pablo continued to share with the other leaders. He said, “When Sonny first witnessed to us, we were extremely hard on him. We pushed him around. When we got bored with that we were ready to shoot him. But he said to me that he would love to pray for us first before we shot him. I then said to myself, “Why would a man who is about to be shot want to pray for me?” After this we could not shoot him. When he did that, things already started to change in my life. I realize today that would take a real Christian man to want to do something like that for me. That is a man of God standing there in front of you. So before you do anything to Sonny, he is going to ask you that question.”

The other gang leaders then said “Man, we want to know God like Sonny knows him.”

Then Pablo said “Let me pray for you guys.”

The other gang leader said “Pablo, I have known you longer than I have known Sonny. It would be great if you would pray for me.” Then Pablo prayed to God saying, “God, I have never prayed to you before. But could you bring peace to my enemies heart. His heart is broken just like mine was.”

He just prayed for the leader but not for the whole gang. After Pablo prayed for  the leader, he asked Pablo to come back later this afternoon to talk some more.

That gang leader looked at me and said “You know we know Puablo. We want to talk to him alone because we know him. I will probably talk to you later.”

Then all the gangs asked what they should do with all these frisbees. I told the guys just to keep them. So all three gangs divided the frisbees amongst themselves. Pablo confided in me, “If you would not have showed up, a lot of us probably would be dead right now. Because we were here to shoot each other.”

Then he finished talking and every gang member left. The third gang stayed quiet but the Holy Spirit is tugging on their hearts. I have a feeling I am going to be seeing these other two gangs next week. The fact that the other two gangs got to see Pablo’s gang give their lives to Jesus Christ, it will have an impact on them. Even though they did not invite me to come back this afternoon, I know Pablo well enough. I’ve talked about Jesus with him so much, that I am sure everyone is going to bring up his name in their conversations this afternoon. This should further impact their hearts to coming to Jesus Christ. It was amazing to watch this man who just give his life to Jesus Christ and to immediately pray for a guy that was about to shoot him. Only God has this kind of power to change one’s heart in such a short time and give him the desire to do something like this.

Dual Van Miracle

It was a beautiful Saturday morning when I ate breakfast with Blue Mustang. He said, “I know God has a couple of families out there that need to be blessed today.”

Blue Mustang gave me $280 to do that. Our King loves that number of $140 per family. He always multiplies it when this amount is given. I headed down to the King Soopers where God usually sends me. When I arrived at the store parking lot, God said, “Sonny, look behind you.”

I looked into my rearview mirror and saw a van that stopped behind me. I saw what looked like two families getting out of the van. They were packed in the van like sardines. Both families had a total of six kids. They lined up in a row and were all facing east as though they were about to pray to God. I got out of my pickup and stood by my back bumper. I could hear the men praying. One man said, “God, you brought us here and we came in obedience. We only have $28.15 left. You brought us here to expect a miracle. We are going to wait here as long as it takes for this miracle to happen.”

They had brought snacks to wait for the miracle. I discovered they could only afford saltine crackers and peanut butter to snack on. This is definitely not my way of having a snack. But they were prepared as best they could. I continued listening to the families pray. One of the children prayed, “We are expecting a miracle because I would love to have some cereal.”

This kind of prayer makes you appreciate what God gives you. I have cereal all the time. Many times I am in a hurry and don’t have time to make breakfast. I just eat a bowl of cereal to solve this problem. One of the girls then prayed, “God, I am sure missing French toast. I want to have it with butter and syrup.”

The last person to pray was a girl. She prayed, “God, I want you to bless that person who is going to bless us today 100-fold for their obedience in doing this for us.” What a grateful heart this girl had in asking God to bless someone who still has not given any money at all.

I continued to stand there until they were all done praying. God told me to wait just a little longer before I went over to talk to them. I continued listening to what they were saying. One of their little girls ask for a cracker and peanut butter because she was getting hungry. They did not have the time or the resources to even make breakfast. I began to cry when I realized that was all she had to eat. I began thinking about all of them getting out of the one van. I prayed, “God, they only have one van. They need to have another vehicle.”

I discovered the bank had reposed one family’s van. They were forced to ride together in this one van. Julie, one of the little girls said, “How long do we have to wait for this miracle?”

Tony, her nine-year-old sibling gave her the analogy about the Red Sea and said, “God could have easily opened the Red Sea before they got there, but he wanted to show his people how powerful he was. So he waited till everyone was there before it happened.” Tony paused a second then said, ” If we have to wait here all day, we are going to be patient with God. He promised that there would be a miracle and he will keep his promise.” This is a profound analogy from a 9 year old.

They decided they could be waiting awhile. They had some games in the van and they started setting them up and playing them while they were waiting for the promises of God. God said, “Sonny, it is time to go over and talk to them.”

I moved in a little closer. I then said, “So, you guys are here waiting for a miracle? Apparently you know God because I heard your cries for help. I want to tell you about Blue Mustang.”

Julie asked, “Is that a car?”

I said, “Yes that is a car, but let me tell you about Blue Mustang. God has used him in this ministry to blessed families like you that are hungry and need food. This is what he gave me to give you so that you can go buy groceries. He has warned me it is to be used for groceries only. No smokes or liquor or the blessing will stop. This money is from God but he has blessed Blue Mustang so that he can give it to you.”

Julie came up and grabbed my hand and said, “I like you. You know God.”

So here I was holding her left hand and I had my Bible in my right hand. She then said, “We have room in our van. You can sit on the floor with me. Then we can go shopping.”

Up to this point, I have not even told them how much money I have. But it didn’t matter to her. She was ready to go shopping. I told both the wives to hold their hands out. God just revealed to me that both of these women are true prayer warriors. The husband’s do pray and they have faith, but these women are amazing. God described their prayer life to me. I then laid the money on each of their hands. They said, “We don’t know when we can ever pay you back.”

I said, “No, this is a gift from God.”

Both wives replied, “This is the miracle we’ve been waiting for all morning.”

All this happened in 45 minutes. Waiting on a miracle can make it appear longer. Just remember God is never early and many times may respond at the last minute. But he is never late. Both wives said, “We know what we need and we are now able to get it.”

Julie asked, “Do you want to go shopping with us?”

I acknowledged to her that I would love to. Before we did anything, I prayed over both families. I did all this while Julie continue to hold my hand. We then began to head to the store to go shopping. But before we got to the entrance, two vans pull up like they were trying to cut us off as we walked on the sidewalk. An old gentleman, Noah, got out of one van and an old lady, Lisa, got out of the other van. Noah asked, “I saw all you guys get out of that one van. We counted more people getting out than there are seats. Some of you must not even have a seat to sit in.”

Julie said, “That’s me. I sit on the floor.” She then continued on and said, “The bank they are the bad guys. They took our van away from us. Now we have to ride with them.”

Lisa said, “Really! God just told us that we don’t need two vans. He had us come here. He said there is a family here that needs a van. He said that we had to get over here right away. It is filled with gas and now here we are. My husband pointed you guys out and said that’s the family.”

Julie exclaimed, “So you are giving us a van! Boy, these miracles are just coming from everywhere!”

She then told Noah that Blue Mustang gave us money to go buy groceries. The man then said, “I tell you what! I will match everything that he has given you so that you can not only get the things you need, but you can get the things that you want. How much money do you have now?”

They said, “Blue Mustang gave us $140 each.”

Lisa pulled out some money she had on her. She said, “I tell you what! I am going to give you each $200. Now you guys can really go out and get some groceries. That $140 will get you everything that you need but once in a while our tummies want Oreo cookies for dessert. We all know that is something that we don’t need but it is definitely something that we want. We want you to do likewise and get those things that you desire.” Lisa paused for a moment then asked, “Which van do you guys want? We have a Blue one and a red one.”

The family hesitated a bit and said, “Why don’t you take the one you want and we’ll take the one that you don’t want.”

Noah said, “No, it is not about what we want. It is about what you want. My mom passed away and she left this other van. We do not need two vans.”

It was a tough decision for the family to choose. Both of them were 2019s and they were pretty well identical in looks. Both were well taken care of. Noah said, “We tried to give one of them to our grandkids but they said we definitely do not want one of those vans.”

Martha, the wife said, “I would like to have the red one.”

Noah said, “It is yours.” He then pulled the title out and signed it over to the family. He then told Martha that it has insurance for six months and the tags are not due until next year. That family began crying after receiving such a wonderful miracle. Julie said, “Man, I cannot wait to sit down in one of those seats. That will be so much more comfortable than sitting on the floor.”

After a few moments of the family checking out the van, Noah and Lisa said, “Let’s go shopping. We want to go shopping with you.”

It was fun to watch Noah and Lisa in action. They got a cart of their own. When the parents would put an item back or the kids could not get something extra, Noah would put it in his cart. The parents did not want to abuse their blessing and many times said no. So the old couple faked it and said, “man this would be nice to have and they would put it in their cart.”

Noah asked the family if they had a freezer in their garage. The family responded that they have one but it’s almost entirely empty. They keep a few frivolous items for emergencies. Noah then stealthily took his cart towards the meat department. He then came back with hamburger, hot dogs and other meat items for their freezer. It was now time to go to the checkout line.

Julie said, “This is the most groceries I’ve ever seen in our cart ever.” She continued to eye over the vast quantity of food in the cart. She then said, “Mom we forgot peanut butter.”

Her mom said, “No, we got plenty of peanut butter.”

Julie responded, “Not the peanut butter with the peanuts in it. We need some of that.” So Julie ran to go pick up a jar of the crunchy peanut butter.

After they checked out and paid for their groceries. Noah then paid for his cart and said, “Here these are for you.”

Now the families were really feeling blessed. When they got outside, Noah asked the family that drove the van here if their van was paid off. They confirmed that it was. Noah then said, “Why don’t we transfer all the stuff out of your van into the Blue van. We will keep this one.”

If you could have seen the other van. It was old, dilapidated, and needed new tires. Noah was blessing the family with something much better. The family looked him in the eye and exclaimed, “Are you serious?”

Noah said, “God brought us here to give both of these vans away. The reason why we didn’t say anything earlier was because we wanted to see how you would react with us giving the van to the other family. Your heart was in God’s Kingdom. You passed the test and we want you two to have this other van.”

Noah signed the title over to the other family. The family then said, “We’re sorry that our van is such a mess. We want to clean it up before you take possession of it”

Noah said, “This van is not for us.”

Soon a white Cadillac showed up. A teenage boy was driving the car. He parked pretty close to us. Noah explained, “This is our grandson driving this Cadillac. I told him that all this would be done with about 11:30 a.m.”

Noah’s wife said, “We need to wait for the other family that is coming.”

Julie said, “What do you mean by another family.”

Noah’s wife said, “Your van is going to be given to another family that needs a van.”

Shortly, a Hispanic family came driving up by us. The boy driving the car dropped his family off and asked how long it would take. He wanted to go get coffee and bring some back to his family. We then heard the family that got out of the vehicle telling the driver how much they appreciated what he’s been doing to get them places. They said, “One of these days we are going to have our own vehicle and you won’t have to do this for us.”

That kid was definitely a trooper and reminded them that we are family and I do not mind taking care of you. This was Noah’s opportunity. He went up to the family and asked, “What would you say if somebody would give you a van? Would you take it?”

The husband said, “Yes, we would take it.”

Noah said, “Well then, this van is yours.”

The husband then said, “No way! You have got to be kidding me. Is this a joke or something?”

Noah said, “No, it is a blessing.” Noah then signed the title over to this family. This family also began crying when they begin to realize that they now have the ability to go places on their own.

It all started with Blue Mustang blessing two families. From there, the two families got additional groceries plus two almost new vans. The blessing was so powerful that the van they had was given to a third family who was also blessed. I love the way our King talks to people. Noah knew he was not going to be taking anything home because he knew God’s plan. His grandson coming to pick him up at just the right time shows us Noah was listening to God. Next week more families will be praying for a miracle. I cannot wait until my King sends me to them. God gets the Glory and the Victory as he reveals himself to those who ask him for help.

Miracle At The Stone Cross

It was Saturday morning and I just finished meeting with Blue Mustang for breakfast. I was heading towards Denver to bless families with the money he had given me. I was about ready to take the exit to the King Soopers that I usually go to but God said, “Sonny, keep going straight.” I continued heading southbound on I-25 and had no idea where God was going to take me.

I noticed a beautiful stone church on the right hand side of the road. You could really see the stone cross. At that moment God said, “You need to go to that church. I exited off the interstate to get there. In my mind, I was thinking, “Why do I need to go to church on a Saturday? People who are hungry are at the grocery stores?”

Before I finished my thought, God said, “There are two families there that are praying right now.”

I found out later that the wives were sisters. As I approached the church, I could see two families all lined up facing towards the big cross on the church. All of them are on their knees praying to God under the cross. As I moved closer, I shut down my music and idled my pickup down as I began to park. I carefully closed my pickup door so I would not disturb their praying.

I began to think about what they might be praying for. If they were hungry, they should be praying at a store. There’s no place to get food at a church. God then said, “Sonny, you do not understand. They do need food. The reason why the families came here to the church to pray was because they have nothing. They cannot buy food by any means that would honor me. They came to church to pray for a miracle.”

The entire family prayed. Each one said their own prayer including the kids. In one of the prayers, they said, “God, please let the money rain down on us so that we can buy groceries.”

The next one modified that prayer. The little girl said, “Let the money hit us on the head so that we can go buy groceries because I am hungry.”

The little boy said, “I want everything that my sister said but I sure would like some ice cream.”

Others were praying for ability to buy bologna just so they could make a sandwich. Another one of the kids was praying that they could just have a Snickers bar. I could tell they haven’t had a lot of these things in a while. I was within 17 feet of them as they prayed all of this.

After they finished praying, they stood up and I was right behind them. They looked at me and asked, “When did you get here?”

I said, “I have been here for a while. I have been listening to you while you’ve been praying. You have beautiful prayers. Just remember that God does answer prayers.” I paused for a moment then I said, “Let me tell you about Blue Mustang. God is using him to bless people with money so they can go buy groceries. I usually go to King Soopers but God said “not today.” He wanted me to stop here at this church where you were praying. When I came to you guys, you are already praying. I am proof that he answered your prayers. That is why I am here.”

The families asked, “Is Blue Mustang a person or a car?”

I said, “He is both. He is a person who drives a Mustang. The Latinos gave him that nickname.”

They were not sure what I meant by the Latinos. I then shared with them who they are. They were dumbfounded and said, “Wow!”

One of the wives said, “Blue Mustang is a Christian man who has a heart for God to help families like us.”

I said, “Yeah, that is correct.”

She then said, “Even if it is only $5 we are blessed to receive that.”

They were appreciative of whatever someone could give them. When I gave the money to them they were next to speechless. They just said, “Whoa!” The little girl then asked, “Does that mean that we can go and buy cereal and ice cream?”

Her mom confirmed that can happen. She then said, “We need to pray for Blue Mustang.”

The little girl then held her hand out towards me to get ready to pray. We all held hands and each one of them began saying a prayer. One of the wives, whose name was Martha, was gifted in prayer. Her prayer was powerful. When it came to the little girl, she started praying, “Thank you for Blue Mustang, thank you for his car and thank you that he walks barefoot.”

At that moment, the little girl kicked her shoes off into the center of the circle. Whenever I mention that he goes barefoot, many people are starting to take their shoes off. As we finished praying, all of the sudden a white Cadillac appears. A black couple steps out of the car. They must have gone to church here because they asked how we were doing and if we were here to do church clean up today. He said, “You guys do not look familiar to me. Do you go to church here?”

One of the husbands said, “No, we saw the cross and we decided to stop here to pray for a miracle. God brought this man to us to give us money so that we could buy groceries.”

They then shared that Blue Mustang gave me the money to give to them. The Cadillac driver humbly said, “So you guys do not have any groceries at all.”

The families said, “No, we are completely without. But God has changed all that.”

The kids started telling them all the things that they were craving and wanting to get. The wife of the Cadillac driver said, “I carry an envelope in the glove compartment of the car to bless families.”

This lady did not know how much money I gave to each couple. On the envelope it was written “$280 for families in need”. She said, “I always have $280 in the envelope just to bless families each month.” This is the third time that this has happened to me. God really likes the number $140 for families.

She then split her money up and gave $140 to each family just like I did. Martha revealed to her that Sonny has just given us $140 each. The wife said, “Wow! What does that mean? Because we both gave the same dollar amount.” She was running things through her mind trying to figure this out. She then said, “I am going to try to figure this out what this number signifies.”

The Cadillac family then prayed for Blue Mustang, then they prayed for me and the families. It is interesting that when we are obedient to God, how God always seems to multiply the money.

Martha then said, ” I need to meet with my sister and we need to start making a list of what we need to buy in the store.”

They went to the cross that day and they dropped everything there because they were out of options. They had to rely on God 100%. They had no idea how it would come about. And now because of surrendering it all to God, they are now making a list to buy groceries.

The Cadillac couple invited the families to come to the King Soopers store near this church at 1 p.m. I was also invited to go shopping with them. Even though it was several hours away, I went ahead and had breakfast with a gang and talk about Jesus Christ with them. Nine of them gave their hearts to Jesus Christ today. What was interesting, the gang continued to listen to what I had to say. But when it became time for me to go to the store at 1 p.m., they just left. I was now free to go shopping with the families.

The Cadillac couple brought their brothers and sisters along at 1 p.m. to go shopping. They also drove white Cadillacs. I introduced myself and Blue Mustang to them. The Cadillac families wanted to know more about Blue Mustang. They were curious how God would just pull somebody out like that. I said, “No, it was not random. He was chose to bless people. He was also chosen to bless the gangs with food. Some friends of mine do all the cooking for me. They too are blessing to God’s Ministry.”

When I told them that he goes barefoot. They all took their shoes off and said, “Let’s go barefoot into the store.” The little girl said, “Yes” and threw her shoes into the van. They all made the trek barefoot into the store. The Cadillac families gave three carts to each family to fill. They said, “This gives Glory to God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Buy the things that you need and get some of the things that you want.”

As we started shopping, people began staring at us. We could not figure out why unless it was because we were all barefoot.

I talked to the little girl and ask her if she bought any ice cream or candy. She answered, “Yes, I bought a little but we needed to make sure we had hamburger, romaine noodles and other things to make meals with. Both families had all three of their carts full. They even had the bottom rack packed with groceries. Both of their husbands were Dr. Pepper lovers. But due to their circumstances, they have not been able to drink one for a long time. They stocked up getting 1 case of Dr. Pepper each. They both promised not to drink more than one can a day. Both families had enough groceries to last a month.

When they were ready to pay, the manager came over and got both families set up with King Sooper cards so they could get credit for all the groceries they bought. He then told the families “I am here at the store Monday through Friday and anytime you want to talk to me you just give me a call.”

There has to be something with King Soopers and God. It seems like their employees are more apt to bless other people. I just don’t notice it as much at other stores. I do know that God does like that word “King” on front of the name because he is definitely the best King one could have.

After the families loaded all their groceries into their vehicles, they surrounded the Cadillac families and prayed over them. Jerome, one of the Cadillac owners, said, “We are blessed so that we can bless other people. Just as Jesus came to serve so are we to serve.”

When we are representing Jesus Christ, we are commanded to go out there and “just do it”.

I started laughing. They asked me what was so funny. I started talking about the boys in the Bronx and how they read the stories on the website. They really like God’s answer when I question him and he says “just do it”. I told them about my last phone call I had with them. They said, “Sonny, when God told you to just do it, it sounds so powerful, we are starting to say “just do it” when we allow God to bless a family. When we were getting ready to pay, we started laughing because a young girl had a “just do it” t-shirt on.”

The Cadillac families started laughing also. They then said, “We want to get some of those shirts too.”

Jerome then said, “No we are going to make our own t-shirts. Ours are going to say ‘just do it in the name of Jesus’.”

God has revealed to me that there will always be gangs and families in need. Blue Mustang and I are blessed to be able to serve both situations. Again, God gets the Glory and the Victory. I just get to see it.

God Changes Things Up Just Because He Can

It was Saturday morning and I finished breakfast with Blue Mustang. Out of habit, I went to the King Soopers I usually go to assuming the families would be there. I never really took time to even ask God if that’s where he wanted me to go. I parked and I sat there for 5 minutes when God asked, “Did I tell you to come here?”

I sheepishly said, “No.”

God then said, “I want you to start heading south on I-25.”

As I was driving for a while, God told me to take the next exit. By the time I got there I was pretty well on the south and east side of Denver. As I was driving through the parking lot of that King Soopers, God suddenly said, “Stop!”

It seemed like there was nothing going on here, it was pretty dead. It didn’t take long though and people began arriving to go shopping. As I continued to observe my surroundings, God said, “Sonny, look to your left and you will see a U-Haul truck.”

I saw the truck and a van. I noticed a husband and wife standing in front of the van. The kids must have been still sleeping in the van because it looked like they had been traveling all night. They just looked beat. God said, “This family needs money to finish their trip.”

I started questioning God again and said, “This money is for groceries.”

And God said, “Yes, it will be used for groceries. But it is also for gas.”

I grabbed my Bible before I headed over to talk to them. I have discovered that the word of God brings peace to the people I talk to. When they see the Word and what I wear on my t-shirts, they assume that I’m a minister of some kind. I walked up to them and said, “How can I pray for you guys?”

They then shared, “We are traveling to Michigan but are going through Kansas first to see some family. We have a long way to go just to get to Kansas. From there on our family will help us get to Michigan. Right now, we are tapped out and are trying to figure out how we can put gas in our van and truck to get to Kansas. We would even like to get some lunch meat and bread to make some sandwiches during the trip there.”

I said, “Well, let me tell you about Blue Mustang. God uses him in this ministry. He gives me money to give to families. He wants to bless families with groceries or even gas if it’s necessary.”

God likes to bring me to King Soopers stores because he likes the word “King”. It has nothing to do with the store but he definitely is an amazing King. About this time they began crying as I handed them the money. The family said, “This is going to help so much.”

Again, I had the money sorted out into $140 envelopes. But God said, “Give them both envelopes.”

I began to question God again and said, “I know there’s two families that you want to bless today.”

God said, “Sonny, just do it!”

I then handed the second envelope to them. I did not realize but there was a couple drinking their Starbucks Coffee sitting directly behind me with their windows rolled down listening to what was going on.

The family then questioned me and said, “You always give to two families but we are only one.”

I said, “It doesn’t matter. God said for me to give it all to you guys.”

They even cried more as I handed them the additional money. They said, “Man, we are now able to buy some gas. Then, we are going to go into the store and get some groceries for our trip to Kansas. Wow!”

They drove off towards the gas pumps. After they were gone, the Starbucks couple got out of their car and came over to my pickup. They said, “We were listening to everything that was going on. What you just did was so beautiful!”

They then pulled out $140 and gave it to me and said, “This is the $140 for the next family that you are going to provide for.”

This couple wanted to make sure that another family did not miss out on the blessing that they were going to get. They then said, “If you are that obedient to God, we are going to trust you with this money to bless another family.”

Meanwhile, the traveling husband was filling the U-Haul truck and van with gas while his wife was shopping for groceries in the store. The Starbucks couple that gave me the $140 went over to the pumps and paid for the husband’s gas with his credit card. The Starbucks couple came back and prayed for me. I was still holding my Bible in my hand as they prayed for me. Another family pulled up right next to us. They said, “We saw you with a Bible and praying with this couple. Could you pray for us also? We could use some food.”

Then I realized, while I was fighting God, here the second family showed up. See how awesome our God is. He can turn anything around so that the families he wanted to bless got blessed. God knew the couple drinking coffee was going to provide me with $140. He held the second family back until I received it. Then in his timing, brought the second family to me.

I prayed with that second couple. Then I shared with them how Blue Mustang has a heart for families and handed them the $140. They too began to cry as they saw the miracle.

Their little girl asked, “Does that mean we get to buy cereal this time?” She then looked at me and asked, “Mister, what’s your favorite cereal?”

I said, “Captain Crunch.”

She said, “Yeah, I love Captain Crunch. I even like to put it on my ice cream.”

I said, “You even put it on your ice cream.”

The little girl sighed, “Yeah, it is so delicious.”

The second family thanked me over and over again for blessing them. I made sure they knew it was entirely God who brought me here to them. They then asked, “Can we pray for you?”

I acknowledge that I would like that. The parents prayed for me. Their 7 year old daughter began praying for Blue Mustang first then me. I then tried to explain to her more about Blue mustang and what he does. She then asked, “Is he a car like one of those hot rods?”

I said, “Yes, it’s a Blue one and it is a hot rod.”

She said, “That is so cool. I just never knew that cars could talk.”

I laughed and said, “No, it is a man who has a Blue Mustang. The Latino gang, that I have been witnessing to, gave him that nickname.”

I noticed that the little girl was barefoot. I then said, “Blue Mustang is just like you. He doesn’t wear shoes either.”

The little girl exclaimed, “Thank God there is another person who is just like me!”

The mom rolled her eyes and said, “Don’t encourage her. I’m always having to tell her to put her shoes on.”

After I explained more about Blue Mustang to her she then said, “That makes sense. I’m going to start not wearing my shoes also.”

The woman’s husband looked at her and said, “Don’t get any ideas about doing that.”

She then replied, “If I feel like going barefoot, I am going to take my shoes off. I don’t care.”

After the husband of the Starbucks couple put gas in the first family’s car, he came back and noticed that I had been praying for another family. I explained to him that the money he gave me had been used to bless this family because they needed groceries. Then the husband said, “Oh yeah, do you need gas?”

They replied, “Yeah, we are also running low on gas.”

He then said, “Let’s take a trip to the gas pumpsso I can fill your vehicle with gas.”

He led that family to the pumps to fill their car with gas. The lady who was working the pumps watched him topping off all these different vehicles with gas and said, “You know, my vehicle’s pretty low on gas also. Do you want to fill mine up?”

He replied, “Yeah, just bring it over.”

She said, “I’m just kidding!” She paused a moment then said, “You know what you have done here today has restored my faith in people. I am so used to people just doing things for themselves. This is so refreshing to see what you are doing. We should be givers and not takers.”

He then said, “Jesus Christ came to serve, not to be served.” He then paid for the gas.

They were a lot of blessings given this morning. It was now time to go and get the burritos to witness to the gangs. They had just called me asking where I was at because it was unusual for me to be this late. With God, I am never late. As I was about to leave, the Starbucks couple ask me how the gas was doing in my pickup. I said, “It’s half full.”

The husband said, “That is not acceptable! Take your pickup over to the pumps and let me fill it up!”

His wife then looked over at him and said, “This is so fun that you are doing this. You hardly ever do stuff like this.”

I then said to the husband, “There’s probably another family that needs to be blessed.”

The husband then looked intently at me and said, “You are blessing families, witnessing to gangs all over the world, driving everywhere to save girls, so, let’s get over to those pumps and get you filled up!” The husband still looking at me intently said, “God gets the Victory and the Glory! Sonny just remember that.”

As he began filling my pickup, the lady said to us, “Is this ever going to stop?”

The husband said, “Only when God tells me to stop.”

Are We Crazy?

It is Saturday morning and I am sitting at the King Soopers on 144th Avenue in Denver. I was impatiently waiting and said, “Lord, you brought me here but I don’t see anybody.”

God said, “Sonny just wait.”

I was getting impatient because I was running a little bit behind schedule in picking up the burritos for the gang I was going to witness to. But as you know, God even had a plan for that. I laid back in my pickup, turned the worship music on. I was just starting to relax when I  looked in my rearview mirror. I noticed that a van just parked right behind my pickup. This is a big parking lot and there were parking spots everywhere so I wondered what was going on. They had me completely boxed in because the sidewalk was in front of me and they were directly behind me. As I continued observing in my rearview mirror, I saw the guy get out on the one side and his wife out on the other. The sliding doors opened up on the van and I saw another family get out. I then got out of my pickup and I asked, “How can I help you?”

The man said, “I hope you don’t think that we are crazy.”

I said, “No, I have seen a lot stranger things than this. How can I pray for you?”

The man said, “You are going to think we’re crazy but we have been praying and fasting all week. I got up this morning and prayed again. I then had my wife pray for today. She told me that God showed her that there would be a red Dodge 4-door pickup here. She also said I need to go to the pickup because the driver will have a blessing for us. You are the only red Dodge 4-door pickup in the parking lot. That is the reason why we stopped behind you so that you would not leave. We wanted to ask you the question Are you the one that is going to be bringing us the blessing? If so, we sure could use it.”

So here were two husbands and two wives. The kids were still sitting in the van. Since neither of the families had ever done anything like this before, they tried envisioning how they appeared to me. They repeated, “You probably think that we are crazy.”

I said, “Not at all. Let me tell you about Blue Mustang.”

One of the wives asked, “Is that a character?”

I smiled and thought to myself, it depends what you mean by character. But instead I said, “No, he is a man of God.”

She then asked, “What’s so special about him?”

I responded, “He gives me money on Saturday morning to bless families that are struggling buying groceries.”

I immediately handed $140 to each family to go buy food. I then said, “Do I think you are crazy! No! Was it just coincidence that I was the only Dodge in the parking lot. No! Do you think it was crazy that God told you it was going to be red. No! He even brought you directly to my pickup because this is a large parking lot. You obeyed him by coming here and listening to him. You could have said that God is crazy. Just because you listened, God has blessed you but if you would have blown him off, you would have totally missed the blessing for today. God would have then told me to go somewhere else to bless another family. There are many King Soopers in this town but God directed me to this one.”

She then said, “I am very glad that you listened to God because we were thinking that you would think that we were crazy.”

They were Christians and they were crying as I finished handing them the money. They were desperate and God provided. I am glad that I did not abandon ship and get the burritos that were waiting for me to take to the gangs. I would have missed this opportunity to bless both families today. It is interesting that when we do what God tells us to do, the people that we are coming into contact with are watching what we do and how we handle it. When we do exactly what God asks, their faith builds because they have seen God do miracles. My King also had me wait 20 minutes. That also builds my patience and God lets me know that even if I appear to be running behind schedule, He can cause anything to follow his plan.

The kids then came out of the van and they asked me to go grocery shopping with them. I said, “Yes, I can do that.”

In my mind I was thinking that I really needed to get going. That is when God put his foot down and said, “Sonny, just stop the fretting! This moment has been set by my Kingdom for you to be here at this time right now. Remember, I stopped time for Joshua when I held the sun in position. I am just as powerful today as I was back then. I can rewind time or do whatever I want just because I am the true God.”

As I felt embarrassed about questioning God, I understood and relaxed going into the store with the families. The manager smiled at me and said, “It looks like God’s working a miracle again.”

He then turned around and walked away. He then came back with two envelopes. There was a $150 gift card in each envelope. That was $300 the manager put out for these two families. He knew that, if they were with me, that they were hurting. If I would not have gone shopping with the families, the store manager might not have noticed these families and they would have missed out on the blessing that God had for them.

The families said, “We are only going to get what we need. We are going to save these gift cards for later.” I gave them my ministry cards and prayed with them. We parted ways but these families lives were transformed today. They will remember what God did today.

We need to seek people with God’s eyes. He will open our eyes to people in need. God does reward you for blessing people. But it will be in his time. Just remember this; you can never out give God. If your heart is in it, you will be blessed by him. That is a promise that he gives in Malachi 3:10. Always remember this; everything is his already and we are his stewards. If you do not believe this, watch what happens when someone dies; everything we treasured is left here on earth where it is given to someone else. God already has families planned for next week. I cannot wait!
