God’s Big Push to Get Gangs into his Kingdom

When God had me start witnessing to gangs, I was many times beaten and told to go away. They wanted nothing to do with me or Jesus Christ. I have people pray for me for protection, so I never was severely beaten. But as time progressed, Blue Mustang made specific prayers against what was happening to me. The first thing he prayed for was that they would quit using me as a basketball when would throw me in the back of my pickup. After he prayed that the violence against me stopped. But many times, while I was reading God’s word to them, one of their men would have their pistol pointed at me at the back of my head and the gangs themselves would have their pistols drawn. Blue Mustang then prayed that whenever I pulled my Bible out of my truck, that would be a sign for the gangs to put their pistols away.

The gangs immediately began putting their pistols aways when I reached for my Bible and carried it in my hand. It was so cool when they would simultaneously put their pistols back into their holsters. I was beginning to enjoy this not being hit or having pistols drawn on me while I am witnessing to these men.

God usually has me witnessing to the gangs in the Denver area. Because he physically brings them to me. But from time to time, he lets me leave to the area to go other major cities. I only do it when he tells me so. I finally had an opportunity to go. I told Blue Mustang that God is wanting me to go to Chicago, New Jersey, and New York to witness to the gangs there for two days.

The MS13 gang in Chicago had the reputation of being one of the meanest gangs in the United States. Blue Mustang made a special prayer and prayed that when I got there that the gangs would be in a state of confusion when I arrived.

The undercover police in Chicago gave me a vehicle to go into the neighborhood where these guys were residing. Before I left the building, the undercover police were taking a pool on how many bullet holes there would be in the car when I brought it back. Before I entered the neighborhood, God had me open my Bible to Isaiah 41:10 and place it on the windshield under the wiper. It was a war zone here just as you would see it in a movie.

I finally arrived where they were at and low and behold, they had their pistols put away. These guys were totally confused and they begin asking me for help. They’ve been in a fog starting the day that Blue Mustang prayed that prayer. I’ve never ever witnessed to gangs in these big cities like this because of the power of prayer. I had trouble keeping from laughing because I knew what happened. I said, “Let me pray for you for peace.”

As I began praying for each man, the fog that took over their minds began to disappear, and they became peaceful in spirit. This was all that it took for them to want to give their hearts to Jesus Christ. Almost all gangs are formed because of broken relationship between the father and the sun. These guys began calling home and found out that their dads have quit being alcoholics and druggies. Many of them were Christians. This further excited them so that they wanted to go home because it was dangerous where they were at constantly watching for gunfire. Soon the family members of the boys came and began picking them up. Many tears were shed as families became united again. The Holy Spirit was so powerful that everyone there gave or rededicated their heart to Jesus Christ.

By the way I always brought the cars back with zero bullet holes. Those in law enforcement that understand the protection our King gives his servants always bet zero and win the money pool.

Exactly the same thing happened to the gangs in New Jersey and New York. God placed a fog over their minds. And they were anxious to get away from that. I have never been able to do that all the time. I’ve been witnessing to these gangs in these other cities before. There has been nothing like this ever. I have heard that God is making a great hunger over the nations for him. And that possibly could be the reason why these gangs are so interested in talking about God. But for me because I witnessed a change every time Blue Mustang prayed. That change was immediately. I firmly believe that the power of prayer was also the solution. Blue Mustang kept praying that same prayer to the gangs when I came back. They would become also confused wondering about their future. As of this writing they have been wondering about their life and where they are going.

God has burned in their hearts to figure out that something is missing in their lives. Many times, they were searching for me even though I did not know them. The gangs that I do not know found out who I was from other gangs who shared things about me and my love to bring the message of Jesus Christ to the gangs. Those gangs even stood up for me and said, “You leave him alone because he will not hurt you and he usually has food.”

The fact that I can feed them is because of the wonderful help that I have behind the scenes.

God had me had me do something new. He has asked me to have the gang members write down messages on notepads so that they could give their thoughts to their parents and their siblings. This has made them think about family and wanting to go home. When they deliver their notes to their families, they begin to find out that their dads have changed and many of them became Christians. Like I always say, I’m only the Messenger and God gets the Glory and the Victory. Unless the Holy Spirit prepares their hearts for me, my message will not reach their hearts.

The gangs are becoming more hungry for God each week. In the first week of October, a total of 12 gangs have given their hearts to Jesus Christ. What was strange about all this is that many of these gangs were enemies of each other. But they still came together and began asking each other questions. They wanted me to meet them to discuss things further about the promises of God. This is the largest group of men that God has sent me, and they all gave their hearts to Jesus Christ.

Commerce City Gangs Come to Jesus Christ

It is Saturday and my King had me drive to the park on the east side of Commerce City, Colorado. When I arrived at the park I was surprised to see it empty of people. It was already warm and turning out to be a beautiful day. This is definitely a tough park. Not very many parents will bring their kids to play here. The gangs love coming here. There usually is a lot of gang activity going on here. I even see a lot of homeless people who hang out here.

I just did not understand what was going on. My King had me pick up tacos for the gangs to eat. My King knew that I was becoming anxious and said, “Sonny, why don’t you just be patient. Just wait.”

So I continued to watch and see what was going to happen next. Soon a bunch of old cars started showing up. Whenever I see 15 cars showing up at the same time, I know it’s a gang. They all parked close to my pickup.

One of the gang members got out and said, “You have a nice truck, but you should not be here. This is our turf.”

I did not know this gang but I knew the one that was going to be coming next. I then replied, “Did you guys hear about the new owner of this park?”

They replied, “What do you mean?”

I said, “I bought this park.”

They were shocked and exclaimed, “You bought this park?”

I said, “Yes, my boss bought it for me.”

They then asked, “Who is your boss?”

I replied, “My boss is Jesus Christ.”

They then sighed, “You had us going there for a while. We thought you really did buy it!”

I said, “Jesus bought it with a price so that I could come here and talk to you about how much he loves you.”

As I was speaking one of the kids came up to me and said, “You smell like tacos.” I had a bunch of tacos in my pickup sitting next to me so I’m sure I did smell like tacos.

I said, “Yes, I have a bunch of tacos in my pickup. Are you guys hungry?”

He said, “Bring it on. We definitely are hungry!”

I said, “I need some help getting everything. My cooler is in my back seat and is very heavy.”

I have to put it there to keep it from disappearing. I found out that if I go into a store and it’s in the back of my pickup, someone always steals it. So it has to be locked up.”

They were anxious to help me so, I had plenty of help getting everything out of my pickup. While they were doing all this, a second gang pulled up on the other side of the park and began watching us. I waved them to come over and meet with us.

The gang leader asked, “Why are you calling them to come over? We fight with this gang.”

I asked him what his name was and he said, “Billy.”

I then said. “Right now we need to call a truce. Let us have a good lunch. They are hungry just like you.”

Billy than replied, “Okay man. I can do that.” He then looked at his men and said, “If anyone in that gang makes a wrong move, you guys just start shooting them.”

The other gang cautiously began walking across the park and asked, “What do you want man?”

I replied, “Are you guys hungry?”

There leader whose name is Charlie then said, “Heck yes, we are hungry! What do you have to eat?”

I then told him about the tacos and the drinks I had.

Charlie hopefully asked, “Do you happen to have a Dr. Pepper?”

I then showed him the Dr. Peppers that I had just waiting for him in my cooler. I told him the same thing I told the other gang. “We are not going to do any fighting. We are here just to eat right now.”

He had no problem with that and his gang began helping the other gang to eat and drink everything I had.

While they were eating, I was praying and speaking about Jesus to them. I then asked them if they had any prayer requests. They began to reveal things that needed to be prayed over. Many of their family members were down with covid. After I finished with their prayer requests, I turned my thoughts to them and asked, “Do you men know where you’re going to spend eternity? Because I do know where I’m going. I am going to be in heaven with my King. I would like to invite you to come with me. I will be waiting there for you.”

The new gang began to ask questions first. Charlie then asked, “How do you get to heaven?”

I then replied, “First of all you have to ask for forgiveness of all your sins.”

Charlie said, “I have way too many sins. I can’t even count them all.”

I then said, “Jesus does not keep track of the number of sins. He is more interested in you asking for forgiveness and what is in your heart.”

Charlie then asked, “Is it really that simple?”

I confirmed, “It really is that simple. He will not only change your heart, but He will transform it.”

Charlie then asked, “Will it bring healing between me, my mom, and my dad?”

I said, “Yes it will. They will see the change that Jesus has made in your own life.”

Charlie then replied, “I would like to try it.”

Charlie’s  men were shocked at what he just said. They all looked over at him and said, “You are the meanest guy in the whole gang and you think that God is going to forgive you.”

Charlie’s answer was even more profound. He said, “Yes he will. God sent Jesus Christ for you and for me. I am tired of being mean. After you accept Jesus Christ you will not be walking in darkness anymore. Jesus Christ is not a religion but having a relationship with him. You have to worship him, pray with them and read his word. I do not have a Bible right now.”

I replied, “I have a whole box of Bibles in my pickup.”

As I was walking towards my pickup, they all shouted out they wanted Bibles too. These Bibles were the New Testament only. I began passing them all out asked, “Who wants their names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life?”

They paused a little bit but they came one by one. James was the first one who said, “I am tired of living this life. I am tired of hurting people. I am tired of waking up hungry. I want to go home.”

When James made this confession it emboldened the rest of them to take the step. They all began coming forward and they began thinking about their families. One asked, “What if our parents do not take us back?”

I began to encourage them and said, “God is faithful! As soon as you tell them what happened today, just see what happens. Call them and tell them.”

They all began calling their parents on their phones. In the beginning they were pointing their pistols at me and now they are crying. The gang I knew was watching everything that was going on. Billy came up to me and said, “Those guys are pretty tough. We just fought them last week and now they are crying.”

As the gang continued to watch they began to see the change in their lives. Billy then said, “I do not know if God will forgive me of all my sins but I will ask.”

I said, “He will. Not only will he forgive your sins but he will forget them. He is not going to hold them over your head. Once you ask, just watch and see what will happen to your heart.”

Billy’s gang began crying as Charlie’s gangs parents started showing up. Some of the parents recognize some of the boys in Billie’s gang and said, “Your parents just live three blocks from us.”

Billy then said, “We keep to ourselves.”

Billy’s gang continued watching as the parents were showing up for their sons in Charlie’s gang. Billy’s gang too decided now is the time for them to give their lives to Jesus Christ.

God is doing some amazing things right now. Most of the time when I witness to gangs only a small percentage give their lives to Jesus Christ. But lately whole gangs have been turning their lives over to Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit has been working overtime to transform hearts in these men to bring them into God’s kingdom. I even noticed this witnessing on the streets. God will say to me, “Stand here and they will come to you.” I do not need to say anything. I will stand up next to a wall holding my Bible and the people come to me. People begin to walk by me and they notice God’s word in my hand. They stop and look at me and will say, “Hey, I sure could use some prayer today.” Just on Friday night, I prayed for 33 people who came to me and did not even know who I was. God gets the Glory and the Victory for all that. I just get to see it.

They continue to come. Others recognize the writing I have on my clothes and will say, “You must be a minister out here on the streets. We would like you to pray for us.” I expect the crowds to continue to grow each week as I witness on the streets. I firmly believe that God is trying to reach everybody to know who Jesus Christ is. He promised that he would not come back until every man has heard about Jesus Christ. I also know that he is working hard to have a unified church where we all believe in exactly what Jesus Christ believes in and we live our lives just like he did.

Commerce City Gangs Get Saved

It was going to be a beautiful Saturday. God had me go to Commerce City, Colorado. He knew that there were going to be some gangs hanging out there today. When I arrived at the park, I could see Regi’s gang there and they were having a good time. A second gang showed up shortly. Their arrival started changing everything. They stopped what they were doing and began looking at each other. Gangs all have their territories and another gang will not be tolerated. It really looked like they were about ready to go at each other’s throats. I then asked, “Lord, what do you want me to do?”

There was a wide sidewalk down the middle the park so I decided I was going to drive my pickup on that sidewalk right down the middle of them. God has trained me well in what to do in this situation. I always get in trouble for doing this but no one was in sight to do anything about it. It is interesting when the pistols come out they all run away and they stay away until the gangs leave. They never act tough around the gangs. I have never received a ticket but I always get the same message, “Sonny, you need to get your pickup off the grass and park on the street.”

When my pickup came to a complete stop, I jumped out and started getting all the food and drinks out and putting them on my tailgate. Both gangs were caught off guard and they were surprised. They asked, “What are you doing man? We don’t get it!”

I then replied, “Are you guys about ready to fight?” They confirmed they were. I then said, “Let us have breakfast first before you fight.”

The gangs then exclaimed, “Are you kidding me? Who do you think you are?”

I said, “My name is Sonny.”

When I mentioned my name, the other gang leader exclaimed, “You’re that guy that witnesses to gangs about Jesus Christ. We just don’t want to hear any of that right now.”

I said, “Still, I did bring breakfast and the food is getting cold.”

They began to look over the food and said, “Breakfast burritos?” I confirmed I had those.

One kid then asked, “Do you have any cereal?”

I said, “Yes, I have Captain Crunch cereal which is my favorite.”

He then politely asked, “Could I have some?” and I confirmed that it would be great. I pulled the bowls out and the bottled milk. Then I reached for my box of Captain Crunch cereal. A lot of the guys went for the cereal over the burritos.

I then said, “God knew you were hungry and he sent me here to serve you guys and to tell you that Jesus Christ loves you.”

They couldn’t argue with me at this moment because they all had food in their mouths. I then read John 3:16 to them.

Some of them were beginning to get irritated and exclaimed, “Dude, would you just stop talking about Jesus!”

“No,” I replied, “I am not allowed to do that. I was sent for a specific purpose of telling you He loves you. That is the only reason why I am here. Jesus wants to show you that you have a new purpose in life. What you are doing now is not what God wants. He created you for His Glory and Kingdom, not for yours. God wants to bring healing to you and to your hearts.”

One gang member then said, “You know nothing about my heart.”

After he finished speaking, two young boys snuck up behind me. I found out their names were Isaiah and Lucas. They were both riding bicycles and pulling wagons. I looked at them and I was just about ready to tell them that they should leave right now.

I said to myself, “These boys don’t realize who these guys are. These are gangsters that I am with.” I then looked in the back of their wagon and noticed that they had literature in them. The boys then said, “We are here to pass these out. They tell you how much Jesus loves you. You guys all have parents and I know that they miss you.”

As they started handing them out they said, “Just read them anytime you want.” I looked at the pamphlet and on the front it said, “How to accept Jesus Christ?” They continued to hand the pamphlets out to every gang member. Each man took one. They immediately put them in their pockets. None of them read them right away.

Isaiah grabbed one of the pamphlets and opened it. He said, “I want to read one of the verses that is in the pamphlet.” He began reading John 3:16 to them. He read further and quoted Jeremiah 29:11 to the gangs. Lucas picked a pamphlet and read Matthew 6:33 to them.

These boys appeared to have come from nowhere. Now they are beginning to preach to both of these gangs. They started telling them how God wants them to go back to their families and to forgive their parents. They also said they should also ask for forgiveness for the things they have done. Isaiah finished up saying, “We both have warm beds and parents who love us. I know that your parents love you too. You should go back home because that is where God wants you to be. Not out here on the streets.”

Finally Regi said “We have had enough. You two boys, leave now.”

Regi’s right hand man said, “These boys are making lots of sense. Just like Sonny said, I bet our families do miss us. Our parents probably are crying for us every day because we are not there. I need to ask my parents for forgiveness because I was a jerk. I was mean to my parents. They were just trying to guide me the right way. I thought I had too many boundaries and too many rules so I decided to leave. Look at where I’m at right now. Maybe I should call them and talk to them.”

Lucas said, “You won’t regret it. Your dad and your mom both love you. You should call them. Let us pray for you before we leave.”

God told me to be quiet and just listen to these boys speak. Many times God tells me to just listen. Lucas started praying for him. He definitely was a praying machine. He continued praying for the gang’s salvation and that God would protect them. I was totally amazed on how the Holy Spirit was giving him insight into every gang member as he prayed over them. He would say things like “Your sister cries and prays over you every night.” These are things only the Holy Spirit would know. I followed each boy around not necessarily protecting them but to give them support as they prayed. After they finished praying for all the gangs, they prayed over me.

I asked Isaiah and Lucas if they were hungry. I then told them I had Captain Crunch cereal and pretty spicy breakfast burritos.

Lucas said, “I never had a homemade burrito before.”

Isaiah asked, “Do you have a Dr. Pepper?” I told him that I had one and he gladly took it from me.

I finally noticed that their parents were on the edge of the park using binoculars to watch over their sons. They were standing with four other couples. They were all praying over these two because God has called them to be out on the street handing out these pamphlets. They do this every weekend. The parents believe God wants their son’s to do this and they are going to take them wherever they need to go.

I watched the boys as they went back to the van. Their parents prayed over them. I saw one of the boys signaling to his mom and dad as he was pointing to his throat. He was chugging that Dr. Pepper trying to get the burning sensation of the burrito out of his throat.

Both gangs watched as the boys left. They then asked, “Are those boys with you?”

I replied, “No they are not. God brought them here today to show you who He is. Those boys were speaking life into you guys.”

One gang member said, “When he prayed for my step sister like he did, it pierced my heart.”

Another one said, “He prayed for my sister and told me that she was worried sick over me.”

They all began thinking about what each man was saying. They all reached for their phones and began calling home. In 30 to 40 minutes, cars began to show up. They were all family members coming to pick up their sons. Before they had a chance to leave, I said, “Do you want your names written in the Lamb’s book of life. Today is the day of salvation. Tomorrow is never promised not even for me.” I then pointed towards the street and asked, “Did you guys notice that three other gangs have been driving around the park observing what has been going on. They did not do any drive-by shootings because God has been protecting you.”

Regi said, “I am tired of being a leader. I am always worried that we are going to get shot. If that would happen, I would not be able to see my mom and dad again. You are right. I am done.” He then looked at his men and said, “If you guys want to be gangsters go ahead but I am going home.”

He then picked up his phone and called his dad. He has not spoken with his dad in four years. As he spoke to his dad Regi began crying right away. He had his phone on speaker and I could hear his dad speak. He asked, “Are you crying Regi?”

Regi replied, “Dad forgive me for the things I did to you. I am sorry.”

His dad was so excited speaking to his son. He asked, “Where you at? We are coming for you.”

I could not count all the people that showed up. All kinds of family members were so grateful to be able to see their sons again. After all the gang members gave their hearts to Jesus Christ, the parents saw the change in their sons hearts. They wanted what their sons had and they were ready to give their hearts to Jesus Christ. Many of the sons brought their parents over to me to pray over them after they convinced there parents they needed to accept Jesus Christ. I prayed over them for their salvation. Everything that happened today was so beautiful. I was here at this park over 4 1/2 hours watching while God used his servants to bring the message of salvation to these gang members and their families.

Many of the families called me the next week and let me know that the boys are trying to get their GED’s, counseling and whatever they needed to do for their new life in Jesus Christ. I told them all to call me if they needed help. My job is to disciple them and to make sure they continue on their path of serving Jesus Christ. I’m not sure if those little boys realized how dangerous those gang members were but I am beginning to think that they did not see gang members. What they saw were broken hearts. And they truly must understand their calling and that God will protect them until their ministry is finished. God has been using other people to bring salvation to the gangs. It not only brings courage to them but it keeps me humble when they do my job for me.

The Power of Specific Prayer

Sometimes we do not fully understand the power of specific prayer. Many times I have had people generically pray protection over me as I witness to the gangs. Even though I never have to go to the hospital for injuries, I get thrown around a lot. The earth and I get real close to each other as I am tossed about. Some of the stronger gang members like to play basketball with me. They pick me up and throw me into my pickup bed to make 2 points. In fact this game is so frequent the undercover police jokingly said, “Sonny, you need to borrow some of our bean bag chairs and put them in the back of your pickup. They will feel good on your body when they try to score.”

Things began to change when Blue Mustang decided to create a specific prayer for my protection. Blue Mustang said, “I need to ask God to specifically protect your body from injury.”

He knew that the gang members needed to show off for dominance. He prayed that they would not throw me on the ground or beat me to cause bodily injury. I greatly appreciated that prayer over me. It still had not sunk in yet. God had me go and witness to the Eastsiders gang again. The last time I was there they beat me with those small Colorado Rockies baseball bats. I was getting ready for them to come after me again. God knew that I was anxious and said, “Sonny, you have been prayed over. You need to watch what is about to happen.”

I walked over to the leader and he said, “My boys have something to show you.” There were five men holding those Colorado Rockies baseball bats. I was thinking that I was going to be hit again. They walked up to me until they were close enough to hit me. They lifted their bats up in the air and all five guys dropped their bats by my feet. They all said, “We are never going to hit you again!”

Blue Mustang’s prayer flashed before my eyes. It now has been a couple of months since he prayed that prayer and I have not been touched. All of the gang leaders have been threatening their men not to touch me. I am a firm believer in the power of specific prayers. The spiritual enemies of God hate specific prayers. You may have to ask God to send his angels to bind those spirits to make sure your prayer get through.

Three Gangs Surrender to Jesus

My King had me go to one of the parks in Commerce City to meet up with three gangs. I had a bunch of frisbees and Nerf footballs in my pickup to entertain them. As I got near to the park, I noticed a bunch of vehicles parked on every side of the park. Each set of cars had a gang attached to them. I watched as all three gangs began to converge to the center of the park. They all looked extremely angry as they were approaching each other. Some of them even had their pistols drawn. God said, “Sonny, drive your pickup onto the lawn and cut them off from each other.”

I always get nervous about doing this because many times I get in trouble for driving on the grass. But it is interesting I’ve never physically got in trouble with the park ranger while the gangs are carrying pistols. They are a mile away. After the gangs surrender their lives to Jesus, they will say, “You know it’s my job to tell you to stay off the grass with that large pickup. But off the record you have my support.”

As I drove my pickup between the three gangs, I rolled my window down and asked, “What’s up?”

One of the gangs knew who I was. The leader said, “This is Sonny. Everybody just leave him alone. He is a good guy and he brings food to the gangs. That’s his ministry. You guys better not touch him. If you touch him my boys are going to start shooting you. So just listen to what he has to say. Then we will get on with our business.”

The other gangs were surprised at his response and asked, “You know this guy!?”

The leader replied, “He is a man of God. Just leave him alone.”

I began to think back when Blue Mustang specifically prayed that the gangs would not physically harm me in any way. I could see how God answered his prayer by having this gang leader stand up for me.

That leader then said, “There are a lot of people praying for this guy and this guy named Blue Mustang. So you just leave him alone.”

He then looked at me and asked, “Sonny, what are you doing? We have some business to do.”

I then said, “I brought tacos, cheeseburgers and cookies for everybody to eat.”

The leader then rephrased what I just said.

The other gangs said, “Move your truck or we will begin shooting at it.”

I replied, “Before you shoot me or my pickup, why don’t we sit down and have a good lunch. But let me pray for you guys before we do anything else.”

The leaders asked, “You want to pray for all of us?”

I replied, “Yes, you can shoot me and my truck later.”

They weren’t expecting the answer I gave them and they responded, “What!” They did not know how to answer my response.

I began setting up all the food and praying for all of them. They all began eating while I prayed. I then began walking around talking to each one of them and reading scriptures over them and asking them for prayer request.

One of the gang members whose name is Sammy asked “Sonny could you pray for my grandma she’s got covid real bad.”

Another gang member also said, “Sonny could you pray for my uncle? He has Covid real bad. He’s in the hospital and he is really sick.”

At this moment, they lost interest in shooting each other and were more concerned with me praying over them. All three gangs started giving me prayer requests. After they finished eating, I reached into my box of toys and grabbed a nerf football and said, “I know you guys are probably full but who can catch a ball.”

I began putting the boxes out with all the balls and Frisbees in them. All of the guys began grabbing a ball and started playing with them. I then grabbed a nerf football and said, “Anyone ready to catch a football?”

The one guy said, “Yes, I’m ready to go.”

I then said “Hut” like a quarterback would. The gang member then took off running and I was interrupted by a question and began talking to the guy. The gang member who went for the pass was not to happy and came back.

He said, “I went out for a pass and you just started talking to these guys. You better never do that again. If I run out for pass you are going to pass it.”

He took off again and this time I made sure that I passed it to him. It wasn’t a very good pass but he still caught it. That looked fun to the rest of the gang members and they started creating teams. Even God had to be part of this because competition is what got them fighting in the first place. But this competition ended up being a blessing from God. When God shows up, things do change.

After they played for while, I then asked them “who wants their names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.” I then began reading John 3:16 and Jeremiah 29:11 to them. I asked, “If you guys want to accept Jesus Christ today, your names will be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”

One leader said, “I’m beginning to get tired of this life. I am tired of looking over my back all the time. I am done with this life and I want a new life. I want a new purpose.”

After the leader made this confession, one by one they all began giving their hearts to Jesus Christ. I spent a total of 5 1/2 hours with these guys as they went through the process of accepting Jesus Christ into their lives. They kept on playing games. There were more balls and frisbees than they all could use.

Some of gang members grabbed a few of the balls and frisbees and took some of them over to the homeless to share with them. They said, “Sonny, we just wanted to share with them too so they could have fun like we are today.”

By this time it was getting close to suppertime. I have no idea who did it but a white van showed up with 39 pepperoni pizzas. Their excuse was there was a lot of mistakes made in ordering pizzas today and they did not want to throw them away. As I watched these guys I said to myself “I think that I know these guys” but I could not recollect where I saw them last.

The homeless guys were watching what was going on here and they were hoping that they might get something to eat when they saw all those pizzas arrive. A brave homeless guy asked if they had any extra food for them. The gang members then took some of the boxes of pizza to the picnic table near them and started serving them pizza.

I said to myself “How in the world is this happening? Gang members usually do not have a servant’s heart. In fact they live to serve themselves.” But yet again when you give your life to Jesus Christ he will change your heart from a selfish heart to a servant’s heart.

Forty minutes later all kinds of cars began showing up. Parents and family members were coming to pick up their sons who had been making phone calls home. It is interesting when families lose their sons to gangs how many of them come to know Jesus Christ. There still were at least 30% of the families though, who still did not acknowledge who Jesus Christ was.

The gang leader Ringo looked at his dad and said, “I’ve given my heart to Jesus Christ and my name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”

His dad then said, “Ringo, I have never heard you speak like this before! You have never talked about Jesus ever. ”

Ringo replied, “God is real. I want a new purpose in my life. His name is Jesus Christ. This guy told me there is either the Lake of Fire or heaven. I have chosen heaven.”

At this moment his dad started crying and he too accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. The sons all had this effect on their parents. Many of those unsaved parents became saved today.

On Wednesday all three leaders got baptized at the same time. One of their dads runs a swimming pool/recreation place and opened it up to them so they could get baptized. The pastor from that dad’s church welcomed and baptized them all. It was a very big celebration.

If I would’ve known that they would’ve been doing this, I would’ve taken the day off just to celebrate with them. All three leaders are now meeting once a week having a Bible study. It is open for all those who were part of their gangs along with their families.

Only with God can you have three gangs that were ready to have a shoot out come to peace. I found out later that the gang that knew me claimed the turf of that park first. The other two gangs decided they also wanted to take control of that park. They were ready to find out who was the better man. Jesus ended up claiming victory when they gave their lives and their families to Jesus Christ.

The next time I met with the undercover police I asked, “Who delivered those pizzas? I saw you guys out working with us that day.”

They replied, “I don’t know Sonny, but maybe you don’t have to think about that.”

I had food for them too but it just was not quite enough. God gets the Glory and the Victory.

The park Ranger did tell me to stay off the grass at the end of the day. I talked to him about Jesus Christ then prayed with him. He ended up giving his heart to Jesus Christ before I left the park.

Thanksgiving 2021

During the week prior to Thanksgiving, God made plans to take Thanksgiving dinner to Marcus’s gang in Denver. I made arrangements to get the two turkeys and the food that goes with a Thanksgiving meal and to have it ready by Thanksgiving. It is now Thanksgiving morning and I am heading to Denver with what I picked up at Costco. I am going to pick up the rest of the food in Denver. After I had my pickup fully loaded, I headed to Marcus’s home. When I knocked on the door, I had a turkey in one hand and a tray box in the other. I knocked on the door with my foot again to get someone to open the door. Marcus opened the door holding a double barrel shotgun. Marcus hates me because I talk about Jesus Christ too much. They keep telling me that they do not want to hear about Jesus then they throw me on the ground. The earth and I have seen each other face to face many times. I have also been slammed against my pickup many times. But when I showed up at their home things were different. They were very hostile at first. Marcus asked, “What are you doing here Sonny? We do not want to hear about Jesus Christ.”

Then Marcus noticed the food I was carrying. He asked, “Is that a turkey that you are holding?”

I said, “Yes, it is cooked and it is ready to eat. I have brought you and your men two turkeys for Thanksgiving dinner. Today, we know is Thanksgiving. I want to bring a good meal to you and your men.”

Marcus still couldn’t believe what he heard and repeated, “So you really brought us two turkeys for Thanksgiving.”

I said, “Yes, I also have everything that goes with a turkey dinner. In my pickup I have a cooler filled with pop and water, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole with bacon on top, biscuits, corn bread and for dessert I brought pumpkin pies. God told me to bless my enemies by preparing a feast for them. Even if you guys don’t like me, I am still here to bless you.”

Marcus then took the lid off the tray that I had in my other hand. He looked inside and said, “Man that sure looks good. Just put it over there on the table.”

His mindset changed as he discovered that I had food for him and He knew they were hungry. I then said to Marcus, “I need some help. I have a lot of food in my pickup.”

Marcus then said, “Boys, go help Sonny bring the food in.”

So they came out and helped me bring in all the food. After everything was brought inside, I started setting out all the plastic plates silverware and plastic glasses. When the table was set, I started carving the turkey. As I worked on the turkey, I was praying out loud thanking God for the food. I then prayed for the young men around me. I began looking around the room as I was speaking to God and I noticed several of Marcus’s men had their eyes closed. I had not prayed for the meal yet but I was just physically thanking God for all the wonderful things that he does in my life. I then thanked him for the people who help me in this ministry. I specifically prayed for Blue Mustang for providing the food for this meal. After I mentioned Blue Mustang, I also noticed some of the men began talking. One man looked at another man and said, “Who in the world is this Blue Mustang?” I wanted to laugh between me and God but I continued praying out loud. I finally said “Amen” as I finished the prayer. One of the gang members said, “I have never heard anybody pray like that. I usually hear prayers that always start out with ‘My Father who art in heaven’.”

I said, “There is nothing wrong with that prayer. Our Lord Jesus Christ himself prayed that. It is a simple but very powerful prayer so you can learn how to talk to God. Praying is really just like talking to him. But God likes it when you talk to him from your heart. You do not have to be perfect. Pour your heart out to God. That was basically just what I was doing when I was carving the turkey.”

He replied, “That was still a pretty good prayer.”

Marcus came to me and said, “I want to show you something.” He took me over to the refrigerator and opened the door. Inside the refrigerator was three slices of cheese, a package of baloney, two pickles and some mayonnaise. That was the entire contents of his refrigerator. He then opened up the freezer which contained nothing but ice.

I looked at Marcus and said, “The Lord knew that you were hungry. That is why God told me to go prepare a meal before my enemies. But know this; I don’t want you to be enemies. I want you to be Christian brothers so that we can fight the fight together. We don’t want to fight each other but we want to fight for the Kingdom of God.”

As I said that, three of his men started crying. In fact, you can tell that the Holy Spirit was really working in their hearts. I said, “My King knows about every tear that is running down your face.”

One man replied, “Does God know everything about me?”

I said, “Yes he does.” He replied, “I have sinned a lot against God. I don’t think that God will ever forgive me.”

I said, “Yes, he will forgive you. All you have to do is ask.”

At this moment, Marcus said, “I want to eat now. I am getting hungry.”

I said, “Okay men. Let’s eat!”

As I was still carving on the turkeys, the gang members began loading up their plates. Everything was good to them. They all had their full plates as they began eating. The pies were still in the refrigerator from Costco. As they continued eating, I continued sharing the word of God with them. I walked around and began praying for each one. God revealed to me what was in each man’s hearts as I prayed. Each man listened to what I prayed for. None of them told me to walk away and to leave them alone. They listened and they kept nodding their heads agreeing with me as God revealed things to me about them, agreeing with what I prayed. Some of them questioned me. Francisco a gang member asked, “How did you know that? I did not tell you about anything.”

I said, “That is what my King showed me. I am just repeating to you what God said. I myself don’t know you because I have only seen you three times. The only thing I know about you is that you body slammed me three times and that is all I know.”

Francisco said, “I am so sorry that I hurt you. I am never going to do that to you again. Not when you’ve done what you have done today by bringing all of this to us.”

I noticed some of the gang members were sitting in the corner real quiet. They had tears coming down their eyes while they were eating. I went over to talk to that group. I said, “I noticed that you have tears running down your face. What is going on?”

One man said, “You tell me. When you are praying for the guys, God was showing you what was going on in their lives. What is God showing you about me?”

I said, “You are missing your family. You are thinking about past Thanksgivings spending time with your grandparents and family and all the fun things you did. You are missing all of that. You should call your parents and wish them a Happy Thanksgiving.”

After Marcus was full, he went to his room. He was gone for a while to do something. Shortly he came out and said, “Sonny, I need to talk to you man.” I walked over with him and we sat down in one of the corners of his home. Marcus then said, “I want to give my heart to Jesus Christ. I am done with this kind of life. When you brought us this food this morning something happened in my heart.  It reminded me about the times I had Thanksgiving with my parents, Grandparents and family. I don’t know about my men but I am ready.”

As Marcus gave his heart to Jesus Christ, he began crying. His gang noticed and asked, “What is going on? Why are you crying?”

Marcus replied, “I don’t know about you but this lifestyle is over for me. I am going to give my heart to Jesus Christ. It is up to you guys what you want to do but I have made my decision. You need to decide if you still want to be a gang. I miss my family and I want to go back home. God has a purpose for me and for you.”

Before Marcus gave his life to Jesus Christ he just ordered his men around. But now he was having a one-on-one conversation with them. Now he is crying in front of his men. Before he was always stone faced and serious. You definitely can see a transformation in Marcus as the Holy Spirit shifted his heart.

Marcus’s men began thinking about what just happened.  They said, “You know I have been missing my family also.”

Some of them then said, “I have already called my parents to have them come and get me.”

One at a time they started coming to me. I said, “If any of you want your name written in the Lamb’s book of Life, come and stand to my right.” They started coming as soon I made the comment.

They all began crying as they lined up. They asked, “What is going wrong with us?”

I said, “It is Jesus Christ penetrating your hearts.”

Marcus took a deep breath and said, “I finally feel peace in my heart. I do not feel that anger anymore. I have no desire to beat up or rob someone like before. Now that my heart belongs to God, I want to make a difference.”

By now everyone in Marcus’s gang gave their hearts entirely over to Jesus Christ. With all that power of God in the room, it became quite warm. We all headed outside to cool off.

As we were all standing outside, Marty’s gang shows up. I found out when Marcus was in his room before he made his commitment to accept Jesus Christ, he invited Marty to come over. Marty asked, “You guys are not hurting Sonny are you? I know Sonny.”

Marcus said, “No! Sonny brought us Thanksgiving dinner. Are you guys hungry?”

Marty was puzzled and repeated the question, “Are you hungry?” because he did not know what that meant.

Marcus said, “Yes, we are not fighting anymore. Sonny brought his food and we gave our hearts to Jesus Christ.”

Marty exclaimed, “You gave your hearts to Jesus Christ!”

Marcus said, “Yes and our families are coming to get us.” Marcus paused to compose his thoughts then said, “Marty, I want to ask for forgiveness for everything that I have done to you and your men.”

Just two weeks ago they got into a big fight. God had me separate them by driving my pickup right down the middle of their battle lines. Both sides had their pistols drawn towards each other and they were shouting obscenities at each other. Each side was waiting for the other side to make the first move.

Marty said, “We just fought two weeks ago and I cannot even remember why we were fighting.”

Marcus said, “That is all in the past. I am looking forward to the future. Right now, I’m just telling you that I am going home. I have given my heart to Jesus Christ. Marty, today is the day of salvation. Tomorrow is never promised even for me.”

Marty then said, “I also have been thinking about going home. I am tired of this kind of life.”

Marcus said, “Let’s go inside and eat. We have plenty of food for you.”

Marcus and Marty walked together into the house. Marcus was tearing up while he was talking to Marty. Marty grabbed a plate and filled it with food. As he was thinking about sitting down he said, “It is time for me to give my heart to Jesus Christ also. I am tired of this life. I am tired of fighting all the time. I never know what tomorrow is going to bring.”

Marty then looked at his men and said, “You guys can do whatever you want. But as for me I’m giving my heart to Jesus Christ. I am done with this life. Whatever you decide is not up to me but it is between you and God. If you want to give your heart to him today that would be great.”

His men then said, “It would be nice to be able to get a meal every day. It would also be nice to see our families again.”

I then prayed for Marty and his men. While this was going on, a whole bunch of cars began showing up. They were friends and family from Marcus’s side. It has not been long enough yet for Marty’s families to show up. Marcus and his boys just ran outside to greet their parents. I could hear one man excitedly say “My mom is here.” There was a lot of hugging and crying going on out in front of the house. I stepped out and you could sense the power of God working out there between the families and the gang members. I can hear the men say “I’ve given my heart to Jesus Christ. I am not a gangster anymore. I want to be a difference. I now have a purpose like Sonny said.”

They begin pointing me out to their parents. They then said, “He would bring us food and we would either beat him up or just leave. He continually brought us food and we would always spurn him but he would never give up on us. But today, he brought us Thanksgiving dinner. That changed my whole heart when I began thinking of past Thanksgivings.”

One of the sons asked, “Mom have you accepted Jesus Christ in your heart.” She confirmed that she had not. He then said, “I am going to be a Christian.”

She has never heard about Jesus Christ and asked, “How do you do that?”

He then shared with her everything what I had told him. She gave her heart to Jesus Christ along with her son.

Marty then gave his life to Jesus Christ. Everyone in the room began crying. Marty’s gang began calling their family because they too were ready to go home. We finished eating Thanksgiving dinner and went back outside. Up to this point, no one has had dessert.

When Marty’s parents started to come for him, he asked, “Sonny, could you pray for my dad. When I left home six years ago, my dad was an alcoholic. My dad always beat me and I just couldn’t take anymore. That is the reason why I left home. Will you pray for him?”

I said, “Yes, I will pray for him.” I prayed for Marty and his dad. Marty was watching outside when his dad and mom arrived. They both got out of the car but his dad was carrying a Bible. Marty looked at me and excitedly said, “My dad is carrying a Bible!”

I said, “Marty, I can tell he loves Jesus Christ. Just look at his face!”

Marty took off and ran towards his parents. He embraced his dad when they met. It was very emotional. They both started crying as they held each other. His dad immediately asked Marty for forgiveness for what he did. Marty then asked for forgiveness from both his mom and dad for what he did. His siblings also came along. They too started crying as the Holy Spirit began mending their hearts. Marty told his dad that he wanted his dad to see him give his heart to Jesus Christ before going home. It wasn’t as though he wanted to brag but he wanted to show his parents that he was serious about making a commitment to Jesus Christ and change his life. There was a lot of activity going on between the parents and their sons.

As everyone was talking outside, Carlos and his gang showed up. He got out of his car and said, “You know what; we decided to take a drive just to see what you guys were up to.” Carlos looked around and asked, “Are you guys having a party? I just remember two weeks ago when you guys were fighting. And now you’re having a party? What is going on here? I don’t even know what brought me here.”

Marty said, “Marcus invited us over today for Turkey.”

Marcus then stepped in and asked, “Are you guys hungry? We have plenty to eat here.” Marcus started a list of all the stuff that was in the house to eat for Thanksgiving.

Carlos replied, “Thanksgiving dinner!” He still did not understand what was going on.

Marcus said, “Sonny, brought it to us. There were also a lot of people behind the scene who made this all happen just for us. And it was all delicious.”

Carlos looked at me and said, “Sonny, why didn’t you invite me to this party.”

I said, “I did. You are here aren’t you? God brought you here.”

Carlos said, “Yes, we are hungry.”

All three gang leaders began walking back to the house. Marcus then told Carlos that he has given his heart to Jesus Christ. Marty then confirmed that he also gave his heart to Jesus Christ. Carlos said, “What you guys are not gangsters anymore? That means we are not going to fight each other anymore!”

Both Marcus and Marty agreed there is going to be no fighting anymore.  There were a lot more parents who were showing up at this time. Marcus’s neighbors Noah and Ruth became curious and they came over. Ruth brought over pies. They went up to Marcus and said, “We brought you some apple and cherry pies for Thanksgiving.”

Marcus began to realize all the things that these neighbors have been trying to do for him and said, “I know we have been your neighbors a long time and we have not made much of an effort to talk to you. We ask for forgiveness for that. Those pies sure look good.”

Ruth said, “To be honest with you, we were scared of you. You carried pistols all the time. But we are not scared today. Today is Thanksgiving and we want to bless you.” Ruth paused then asked, “How did you like the cookies I left on your front porch?”

Marcus said, “I was wondering who was leaving those cookies. They were always delicious and greatly appreciated.”

I looked over to my left and I could see that all of Noah’s family was on the front porch looking in trying to figure out what was going on. Soon all the grandkids started coming over trying to figure out what the parents were up to. The grandkids really did not have any fear because they do not understand pistols.

Marty came up to Noah and said, “You guys remind me of my grandparents. I have not seen them for a long time.”

Carlos said, “Let’s eat.” Both Marty and Marcus along with their men began serving Carlos’s gang. I could hear the pans rattling as all the food was being cleaned up. There was now nothing left as Carlos and his men sat down to eat.

Marcus looked at me and said, “I have not experienced this much peace in my life, ever.”

After Carlos’s men finished eating, Noah and Ruth along with some parents began cutting the pies for dessert. I had brought huge Costco pumpkin pies but some of the gang hated pumpkin. That is why God had Ruth bring only apple and cherry pies.

Marcus then went to Carlos and asked, “Please forgive me for anything that I may have done wrong to you. I know that we hurt you bad and if you feel like you cannot forgive me that’s okay.  Sonny told me that if we do not forgive others our heavenly Father will not forgive us. I do not want to be in that boat and possibly spend my entire life in the Lake of Fire.”

Marcus’s neighbors, parents and all the gang members were all listening to Marcus speak. Carlos began crying after Marcus asked for forgiveness. Carlos had a lot of sin in his own life. Carlos said, “Can God really forgive me for all the things I have done. I have done a lot of bad things in my life. I have hurt a lot of people. You can ask any of these guys here today and they will tell you that I did not show any mercy.”

I said, “Jesus has shown mercy to you.”

Marcus then interjected, “He died on the cross for us but he rose again in three days. That’s what the Bible says.”

Carlos was really emotional as the Holy Spirit began the transformation of his heart but once he completely gave his life to Jesus Christ it was over. It brought peace to his life. When Carlos’s men saw him change they wanted what he had.

Carlos was watching what was going on around him and said, “Boy that must be nice having your parents hug you. I have not seen my parents in close to four years now. They probably won’t hug me.”

I said, “You won’t know that unless you call them. Invite them over.”

Carlos said, “I’m going to go do that.” He walked over to his car which was a restored red and white 1956 Chevy. He sat down in the driver seat and made the call. He was in there for quite a while. Pretty soon Carlos’s parents were coming to get him. I also notice that the parents of his men began showing up. They too were all requesting to go home. Carlos finally got out of the car and said, “Boys, I’m done with this life. I want to go home. I do not want to do this anymore.”

It was now time for the entire last gang to give their hearts to Jesus Christ. Noah excused himself and went back to his garage. He then backed his truck up to Marcus’s home. It contained full boxes of Bibles. Noah then started handing out Bibles to all the men.  We were getting low on Bibles when a white van showed up that had more Bibles in it. I have seen this van before.  I asked myself, “Who are these people? They follow me everywhere. They always bring Bibles just at the right time.”

Everybody here received a Bible. There were still more parents and families that are still coming. I prayed for anybody that needed prayer. When the parents arrived it looked more like a party. They would ask, “What is going on here? I’m just here to pick up my son.”

I always replied, “Your son just gave his life to Jesus Christ.”

I was not sure how many people got saved that day but it was difficult to stop crying when I realized how many broken hearts were fixed today by the power of the Holy Spirit. By now it is late and I began to get ready to go home.

Three gangs gave their hearts to Jesus Christ on Thanksgiving Day. They were once enemies. Now they are Christian brothers under Jesus Christ. Carlos said, “Sonny thank you for never giving up on us. Every time I would see you, both you and Blue Mustang would feed us.”

I returned from the drive and noticed that Ruth and Noah brought all three leaders together and put their hands on them.  Noah began praying for them. I noticed there grandkids were there to but they still seemed to be a little scared because the men still had their pistols. After they finished praying, the parents started to disciple these men. They had churches that they might want to go to and people who help them in their walk with Jesus Christ. The parents then turned to me and said, “Sonny, thanks for not giving up on our sons.”

I said, “God has never given up on me. I am never going to give up on them either. I myself am never going to be perfect until I am in his presence. My name is in the Lamb’s book of Life. You have to continually stand against the enemy using the word of God. You cannot do it by yourself.”

Marty commented, “Everybody keeps talking about this Blue Mustang. He must be a pretty cool dude. He must have a Kings heart like Sonny.”

I too said, “If it wouldn’t be for him, I could not afford to bring all this food to you guys. I just bring the word of God to you guys.”

They said, “God supplies just like you said Sonny.”

I said to myself they are already learning. Many times when I am speaking to these guys I don’t think that they are paying attention. But they have been listening to every word that I speak. Just remember if God calls you to do something even though you don’t think you’re making a difference continue to be obedient because you will see what I am seeing here today.

Carlos then asked, “Sonny have you ever driven a 56 Chevy before?” I confirmed that I had not. Carlos then threw me the keys and said, “Why don’t you drive it around the block a bit.” I climbed into his car. If you’ve ever been in an older car they used not to have power steering. This thing had a huge steering wheel. It was beautiful how he restored it. He added air conditioning to this car. In a lot of the older cars air conditioning was either not available or was an option. He had a cool sound system installed. It sounded really amazing. It had a manual transmission and the ability to make the car go up and down. I did not want to damage his beautiful car so I just left that switch alone. Now I physically started it and put it in gear. I took my time as I drove around the block. It sure was fun to drive an old classic. It was getting late and I said good bye to everyone and went home to get some sleep. But I was about to find out my night was about to change.

My return to Denver Thanksgiving night

On Friday at 1 a.m. all three gang leaders asked me to come to Carlos’ home to pray for their families. They all loved their families and wanted them to also have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and asked for my help. His parents had a large beautiful home with a five car garage.  I went into a room where the families of the three gang leaders were hanging out. I said, “Those of you that have not accepted Jesus Christ and want to accept him as your personal Savior come over here and stand on the right side.”

Almost the whole crowd came over and stood on my right hand side. Marcus then asked, “Sonny, do you think that I could pray for some of my cousins. I am not sure if I know what to do.”

I said, “Marcus, go ahead and do whatever God tells you to do. You know the sinners prayer.”

So Marcus began praying for some of his family. All of them gave their hearts to Jesus Christ there in that room. When the families saw what happened to their sons, they began to understand the importance of knowing Jesus Christ. They saw the difference that Jesus Christ made in their son’s life. Before they knew Jesus, they were tough and selfish. And now they’ve been transformed into entirely different people that show kindness and love for those around them. Jesus Christ is the only one who is capable of making such a transformation because only he can change hearts. I began seeing all the broken lives in the parents coming forward. Again it was difficult to keep from crying because when the Holy Spirit moves it is so powerful. God gets the glory and the victory

Marty Asks to speak with me  Friday Afternoon

On Friday Marty asked to speak with me. I met him at one of the parks where he would frequent. As I was speaking with Marty, Marcus drove up to us. Marcus got out and said, “I figured you’d be here at the park where you usually come on these nice days. I brought your cooler back. You will need to bring pop and water to other gangs. I am so sorry for taking this cooler from you.” Marcus did a good job of washing and cleaning up the cooler. Two of his brothers that were with him helped load it into my pickup because it was full of Dr. Pepper and water on ice. They carried it over and put it on the back of my pickup. Marcus then said, “Sonny, every time I would walk by the cooler God would convict me. He showed me that you are using this cooler to reach souls for the Kingdom of God. I felt so guilty that I just had to get rid of this cooler. So I filled it with Dr. Pepper and water just to show how sorry I am.”

Marcus then left because he needed to make plans to clean up the house. A lot of people went back to Marcus’s home to help clean up. Noah’s brother had a business where he had dump trucks. He brought two of them to the home so they could clean up. Most of the furniture they had in the house was free stuff they got off the street. Almost everything was trashed. They got everything loaded on one dump truck. They said they only needed one but Noah’s brother wanted to make sure they had enough trucks. Noah’s brother even paid the dumping bill. The home was in excellent condition when they finished. Marcus came to me and said, “While we’re throwing out the trash, I took the cushions off the couch. To my surprise, I found the hundred dollar bill I lost a while back. It was lurking beneath one of the couch cushions.”  Marcus was still so appreciative that he felt like thanking me again for bringing him back to his family. I reminded him that it was God who brought me to you in the first place. Marcus said, “Yeah, I know but still we would beat you up and you continued to love us. You were never afraid to tell us about Jesus Christ. That does take a lot of guts.” Marcus then took that hundred dollar bill he had put in his wallet and gave it to me saying, “Sonny apply this hundred dollars to the ministry. Go buy some donuts for the next gang.”

His dad was watching everything that he did and said, “Who would’ve ever thought that my son would do something like that.” His dad saw how Jesus Christ has been transforming his son’s heart in such a short period of time.

Marcus then said, “I may not be Blue Mustang but at least I can still be part of that army.”

It was getting late in the day. I then went back out on the streets and started to witness to some more gangs that my King had already planned for me to meet.

Praying for Marcus Marty and Carlos

On Wednesday, I met with Marcus, Marty and Carlos just to pray with them. Boy what a transformation when I met them. They were all clean-cut with haircuts. Before they gave their hearts to Jesus Christ every one of them carried a ponytail. I said, “Man, you guys got some haircuts.”

They said, “Yeah man, we just don’t want to look like we used to.”

Carlos then said, “Sonny, I have a lot of tattoos and a lot of them don’t look good.  I have been thinking about getting my tattoos removed. I don’t think that God likes them.”

I said, “God is interested in your heart. Let those tattoos be a testimony to other people about God’s Kingdom.

Carlos said, “That brings peace to my spirit.”

I said, “When you die, you will not be taking those tattoos with you. God will be giving you a new body.”

Carlos said, “Does that mean that I am going to be taller.”

I said, “Yeah, you definitely will be taller.”

Carlos’s final words to me were, “Sonny, thanks for never giving up on us.”

Our King definitely knows how to throw a Thanksgiving party. He truly loves us to spend that kind of time on these men just to bring them into his Kingdom. God gets the Glory and the Victory.

Mexican Mafia Turn to Jesus Christ

On the week of October 23rd, I got a call from Greeley’s undercover police that Mexican Mafia had moved into Island Grove Park. The first thing they did was run off all the homeless people in the area. The Mafia said, “Either you leave or you get shot. We are planning on taking over the entire area and we don’t want your kind around here.”

The homeless frequent this area a lot because of its availability to the river and space to hang out. Now they are going to have to hide from the presence of these guys. Some of them did challenge the Mafia, but that didn’t last long as the Mafia quickly beat them up. The undercover police have been trying to arrest the Mafia but they don’t make any mistakes for a conviction. The undercover police showed me videos taken with drones. The Mexican mafia consists entirely of guys. As I continued watching the videos, God was preparing me to take 33 Bibles to this organization. There are two gangs in Greeley called the Reds and the Blues. From the videos I could see they were losing to the Mafia guys. Once these guys were gone, the Mafia would totally own Greeley. I did not want to interfere with the operations of the undercover police and God had not, at this point in time, given me permission to go in yet. So I waited for God’s permission to do so.

The undercover police contacted me many times during the week to follow. I continued to observe and God finally said, “Sonny, you need to go and talk to them today.”

This was on a Tuesday. I immediately went home and gathered all the Bibles and left for Island Grove Park in Greeley, Colorado. Before I entered the park, God said for me to start playing some music. The selection he gave me was quite unusual. He said play “In the Mood” by Glenn Miller. If you don’t realize who this guy is, he is a singer from the 50’s. I said, “God, this is not going to help relieve the situation. I just have not heard of any Mexican gangs or Hispanic people who listen to Glenn Miller.”

After God listened to my so called advice, he said, “Sonny, just do it!”

God sees the big picture. I did not understand what he was planning. I pulled up to the Mexican Mafia playing Glenn Miller loudly. You may even wonder why or how I was able to find a recording of Glenn Miller. I happen to like the song that God asked me to play and I actually had it on my phone. I parked near them while the song was still playing and got out of my pickup. They all reached for their pistols and pointed them at me. They said, “You made a big mistake coming here. I don’t know who you think you are to pull up like you did playing that kind of music.”

I replied, “Let me tell you about the music you heard. God told me to play it loud so you could hear it.”

Before his men started beating me up, Carlos the leader of the Mafia said, “Leave him alone! I can tell you exactly why he was playing that music. That was my grandpa’s favorite song. Every time I would go over to his house when I was younger, he would play Glenn Miller and I heard this song many times. This was my grandpa’s favorite song. While he was playing that music he would always tell me about Jesus Christ.”

Now, I knew exactly why God had me play this song. Carlos then said, “Everybody put your pistols away. This is only one guy.”

But Carlos didn’t realize that I brought God’s Kingdom with me. Carlos said, “What do you want to say? What do you want with us?”

I said, “I want your hearts for Jesus Christ.”

At this moment Carlos took over the preaching for me by talking about his grandfather. He started telling his men about what his grandfather told him about Jesus Christ. He said, “My grandfather would continuously read John 3:16 to me.

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Carlos began quoting scriptures to his gang. My grandfather would never stop. I would tell him that I do not want want to hear about Jesus Christ anymore. My grandfather would then say that everything you see is temporary. But Jesus Christ is eternal.”

I just stood there listening to everything that Carlos was speaking. He then said, “He would have this board in his living room. He used a hot knife to sear Matthew 6:33 into the wood.

33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

My grandpa never gave up on me. He continued to show me all kinds of scriptures. My grandfather’s favorite scripture was Jeremiah 29:11″

His right-hand man Victor never put his pistol away. He felt it was his duty to protect the leader. But Victor was listening intently to what Carlos was saying. He then asked, “Are there any more scriptures that you can share.”

Carlos replied, “That is mostly it but hell is real. You will be thrown into the Lake of Fire if you do not give your heart to Jesus Christ.”

Victor was amazed and asked, “How can you remember all that? You are now preaching to us and you are our leader!”

Carlos said, “Yeah, some things you just don’t forget. You’re thinking that you’re not paying attention but I found out that I was listening to every word my grandpa was speaking.”

Victor looked at me and asked, “What is Jeremiah 29:11?”

I said, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Carlos then stepped in and said, “When you read that verse you notice the part that says the Lord. That was actually the Lord speaking himself. That was not like Matthew or Luke writing it.”

As I was listening to Carlos, I said to myself man this guy could be a preacher. I then looked at Carlos and asked, “So now you have a gang and your primary purpose is beating up people. This park is the only place that the homeless people can hang out, but you physically ran them off. Now they have no place to go. Jesus would not do that he would come here and feed them. He would give them clothing and blankets so they would stay warm.”

Carlos immediately started crying when I said that. He said, “My grandfather told me that someday I would go to the homeless and feed them, give them clothes and give them warm blankets.” Carlos was starting to become emotional. He then said, “I don’t know what’s going on inside of me but you better stop talking.”

I said, “It is not me talking to you but it is the Holy Spirit. You have forgotten what your purpose is in this world. That is to preach to those who are lost and broken hearted. Just like your Grandpa and your Dad used to do.”

Carlos was definitely ready to lose composure. He just had to walk away. As soon as Carlos left the scene, Victor looked at me and said, “So you come here to tell us about Jesus. Then you bring all these tacos from Taco Bell for us to eat. Our leader, of which I have no clue what just happened, but he knows all these scriptures. You tell him that his purpose is to feed the homeless, give clothes to them, and tell them about Jesus.” Before I could answer him he then said, “You do not know all the things we have done. We do not mess around.”

I said, “Victor, it does not matter what you have done. If you ask for forgiveness from our King, he will forgive you. Then he’ll forget everything. But you need to ask him for forgiveness first.”

Victor then paused as he was thinking about what I said. He then said, “I don’t know what is happening right now. I have to go take a walk.”

At this Moment, he finally put his pistol down. Then he began to walk away. His men did not know what was going on either but when Victor mentioned the word “tacos” they looked at me and one man asked, “Did you really bring us tacos?”

I then put the tailgate down. I brought the Bibles and the tacos and laid them out on my tail gate. I asked what his name is and he revealed his name is “Hyman”. I had him write his name down on a piece of paper. I then had the rest of the mafia do the same thing. I personally put their individual names in each Bible and wrote a personal message to each one in their Bibles. The Holy Spirit told me what to write for each man. As I handed each man his Bible, I said, “It is your responsibility to give your heart to Jesus Christ. I cannot force you to do that.”

Meanwhile Carlos came back and said, “I have been thinking about what you said. I am going to go back home in Mexico. I am going to start a ministry there. I want to rededicate my heart to Jesus Christ. Will you help me?”

I prayed over Carlos as he rededicated his life to Jesus Christ. I looked at his men and said, “If any of you guys want your name written into the Lamb’s Book of Life, come over here. I am not going to force you to come over here but you will not be able to say that no one ever told you about Jesus Christ loving you. You can never say that. I am telling you right now that Jesus Christ loves you. He came to this world for us. Even before we were born he knew us and he still does.”

Victor then shared, “I never liked hurting people. I did it to protect my leader. I always felt bad after we hurt people.”

They all started sharing things about their life and soon they were all giving their hearts to Jesus Christ. Soon they began calling their parents and telling them that they were ready to come home. Carlos shared with his folks the ministry that he was going to start with the homeless. All his men continued eating while all this was going on. Some of the homeless people were curious to see what was going on. They watched us and kept coming closer. Carlos shouted, “Hey, if you guys are hungry we got some food here for you.”

Carlos was already starting his ministry feeding the homeless. Soon this taco truck suddenly appeared. I had no idea where this truck came from. The driver shouted, “I hear somebody needs some food around here.”

Carlos said, “We don’t have a lot of money here, so you can leave.”

The driver replied, “No it’s free Taco Tuesday.”

The man’s wife was also in the truck and they both started making tacos and burritos for the gang and me. More of the homeless were hiding behind the ditch on the Northside. They were watching all that was going on. They now felt more bold and came over. I looked at Carlos and said, “God is already bringing them to you.”

There were close to 50 people there being fed including the mafia itself. The driver said, “We need to stop eating and thank God for this meal.”

He used the intercom system on his truck and started praying to the gang. The homeless guys began crying. Carlos walked up to them and asked, “Do you guys know Jesus Christ. He’s the way, the truth and life. He is eternal.”

I already had given him his Bible. He opened it up to John 3:16 and started reading that verse. He was definitely ministering to homeless people. Wednesday morning they all jumped into their 61 Impalas and headed back to Mexico as changed men.

I had a Freitas taco that was out of this world. The driver, who somehow knew who I was, said, “Good work Sonny!”

I said, “I did not do anything thing. Jesus Christ did it all.”

The driver then said, “No charge. These tacos are all free today. Do you want anymore?”

I gratefully said, “No, I am full. That is one of the best tacos that I ever ate.”

What was interesting, there were nine undercover police that were watching and listening to everything that we said. They confided in me that they have never cried like they did when I was sharing Jesus with them. We saw the whole thing. What you just did blew us away. But they said, “We were really concerned when you started playing Glenn Miller. We all thought you lost it! ”

God gets the Glory and the Victory. There was no way I would have chosen Glenn Miller. God knew Carlos’s heart much better than I did. He could not have made a better choice to deliver his message.

A few weeks have passed and Carlos and his men are getting support in Mexico. He calls me frequently to share what is happening. He will be reaching the homeless. Likewise in Greeley this was a desperate situation. Nothing could stand up against these guys and they were worried. They did not realize that God’s Kingdom was present. Getting rid of a threat is one thing but turning the threat into a ministry, only the true God, Yahweh, could master such a plan.

Frisbees Bring Gang to Jesus

I just finished blessing two families and I am headed to pick up the 12 dozen burritos that my ladies have made for me. To this point God still hasn’t told me where to go so I started praying to him to show me where I should take these burritos. After I finish praying, God said, “Sonny, go to the park in Commerce City. The gangs will be there.”

I have been there many times before so I was curious to see who was there. When I arrived, there were three gangs already facing each other. These guys weren’t holding baseball bats or knives. They all had pistols drawn and were pointing them at each other. And they were having a shouting match, accusing each other of certain things. God said, “Sonny, drive your pickup on the grass now! Go right between all three gangs and separate them.”

I have learned that in this kind of a situation I don’t have to worry about anybody chasing me off the grass. It is amazing, when pistols are drawn there is no law enforcement of any kind present. So I immediately drove my pickup right between all three gangs. I was moving so fast that a few of them even had to move out of the way so they would not be hit. I caught them off-guard and they yelled, “What the hell are you doing?”

Now their pistols were pointed in my direction. Pablo was the leader of one of the gangs that I have been witnessing to for two years. Pablo knew me very well and he came up and said, “Sonny, what are you doing here man. You need to move your pickup out of the way. We are fixing to shoot everybody here. These guys were planning on shooting us so we are going to shoot back.”

I said, “No man! I can’t do that.” I looked at the other gangs and turned back to Pablo. I then said, “I have a gift for all of you.”

Soon the other leaders started moving in and began asking, “What is going on here? Who are you? You are in the way!”

I said, “I made a way. My King said to come here. That is why I am here.”

They were not sure what I was talking about. They then asked, “What do you want?”

I said, “I need some help to get this box out of my backseat.” One leader said, “All right, we will help you. I just cannot wait till we start shooting this pickup all up.”

I said, “It’s okay, but first let me give you your gift.”

That leader sent two of his men to get the box out of the back of my pickup. I had the box all covered with duct tape. I asked, “Do any of you guys have a knife?”

About 30 guys already had their knives open ready to have at the box. They started carefully opening the box with their knives. When they pulled the flap back, one man said, “It is full of Frisbees!”

I said, “Those are for you guys.”

I reached into the box and started throwing frisbees at all the guys. One of the men said, “Man, do you know how long it’s been since I’ve thrown a frisbee?”

Pretty soon there were frisbees flying everywhere. They were hitting my pickup and they were hitting other gang members. One guy was playing football. He would send a couple of guys out, then he would try making a pass. Those frisbees changed the whole atmosphere that day. When I got there, they were ready to shoot each other, now they’re playing frisbee with each other. You are probably wondering why I had frisbees in my pickup.

My King knew that there would be a solution to what was going on today. He had me go to Walmart earlier and pick up the frisbees. You are right, I was clueless on how this would unfold but my King already had an amazing plan in place. When I got there, the manager said, “I just put them all in the back because this time of year people don’t buy frisbees.”

I said, “I need all the frisbees that you have. If you have at least 30 that would be great but I will take more.”

We continued walking to the back of the store and started looking for the box. Then the manager said, “Let me look and see what’s in this box.” As he started messing with the box, he asked, “What are you doing with all these frisbees?”

I said, “God wants me to buy frisbees for the gangs I am meeting today. This will prevent them from killing each other.”

The manager then said, “Man, that is so super cool!” The manager then grabbed a marker and put “Rejects” on the box. He then looked at me and said, “Take them. I will walk you outside so you do not have to pay for them. That is the coolest idea I have ever heard of in my whole life. I want to be part of that blessing also.”

Going back to the park, all the gangs were continuing to have fun chucking frisbees. God then told me to get the coolers and food out. I placed all the food and the drinks out on the back of my pickup. Then I yelled, “Are you guys hungry?”

They yelled back, “We definitely are hungry!”

I told them what I had in the coolers and mentioned that the burritos are spicy. So be careful so you don’t get the screamers. These are going to be the best burritos you probably have ever eaten. As they began to eat, they continued to throw frisbees. Everyone put their pistols away. I climbed up in the back of my pickup and started reading the Bible loudly. The men then asked, “Are you a preacher?”

I said, “Only when I’m awake but when I’m asleep I’ve got to have my rest.”

He smiled and then asked, “Is it true that Jesus came and died for us even though we weren’t even born yet?”

I said, “Yes, he knew you even before you were born. He knew that you would be standing right here today.”

Pablo came over and said, “Sonny, will tell you that Jesus loves you. I used to beat him up and he would still get up and say Jesus loves you and I forgive you.” He paused for a moment and then said, “Sonny, I’ve been thinking a lot about how much I’ve been missing my family. I want to go back to them but I don’t know if they are going to accept me.”

I have been witnessing to this guy for over two years. Now today he’s ready to give his heart to Jesus Christ. Pablo then looked at his men and said, “I am done being a gangster. If you guys want to continue you can be gangsters but I’m finished. I am going home but first I am giving my heart to God.”

His men thought about what he just said. They all began to tell themselves they were missing their families also. The whole gang then gave their lives to Jesus Christ right in front of the other two gangs.

The other gangs then started asking questions. They looked at me and asked, “So you brought us frisbees and you brought us food just because Jesus loves us?”

I said, “Jesus loves you guys very much. He has a different purpose for your lives than what you are doing right now. He does not want you to shoot each other but he wants you to have fellowship with each other. You don’t have to fight each other. Just do what this other gang did.”

One of the leaders said, “We do a lot of trading with girls. God will never forgive that.”

I said, “Yes, he will. But you have to ask him first before he will forgive you.”

Pablo joined me and said, “God will forgive you. He will bring peace to your heart like he did to me today. Before I leave, I would love to pray for you guys right now.”

I said to myself, “This is amazing! He just became a Christian today and he’s already wanting to pray for the people he was about to shoot.”

Pablo continued to share with the other leaders. He said, “When Sonny first witnessed to us, we were extremely hard on him. We pushed him around. When we got bored with that we were ready to shoot him. But he said to me that he would love to pray for us first before we shot him. I then said to myself, “Why would a man who is about to be shot want to pray for me?” After this we could not shoot him. When he did that, things already started to change in my life. I realize today that would take a real Christian man to want to do something like that for me. That is a man of God standing there in front of you. So before you do anything to Sonny, he is going to ask you that question.”

The other gang leaders then said “Man, we want to know God like Sonny knows him.”

Then Pablo said “Let me pray for you guys.”

The other gang leader said “Pablo, I have known you longer than I have known Sonny. It would be great if you would pray for me.” Then Pablo prayed to God saying, “God, I have never prayed to you before. But could you bring peace to my enemies heart. His heart is broken just like mine was.”

He just prayed for the leader but not for the whole gang. After Pablo prayed for  the leader, he asked Pablo to come back later this afternoon to talk some more.

That gang leader looked at me and said “You know we know Puablo. We want to talk to him alone because we know him. I will probably talk to you later.”

Then all the gangs asked what they should do with all these frisbees. I told the guys just to keep them. So all three gangs divided the frisbees amongst themselves. Pablo confided in me, “If you would not have showed up, a lot of us probably would be dead right now. Because we were here to shoot each other.”

Then he finished talking and every gang member left. The third gang stayed quiet but the Holy Spirit is tugging on their hearts. I have a feeling I am going to be seeing these other two gangs next week. The fact that the other two gangs got to see Pablo’s gang give their lives to Jesus Christ, it will have an impact on them. Even though they did not invite me to come back this afternoon, I know Pablo well enough. I’ve talked about Jesus with him so much, that I am sure everyone is going to bring up his name in their conversations this afternoon. This should further impact their hearts to coming to Jesus Christ. It was amazing to watch this man who just give his life to Jesus Christ and to immediately pray for a guy that was about to shoot him. Only God has this kind of power to change one’s heart in such a short time and give him the desire to do something like this.

New Jersey Gang

After that gang in New York gave their life to Jesus Christ, the undercover police flew me the next day to New Jersey to meet the next gangs. As I landed in New Jersey, the undercover police asked, “Do you ever get air sick.”

I said, “No, I do not.” Then they asked, “Have you ever been in a helicopter?”

I said, “I have been in a helicopter one time.” He asked, “Did it make you sick? ”

I said, “No, I love helicopters.”

He said, “We are going to fly you in one over where you are going to go. We are going to it in the cover of night.” When it came time to go, I climbed into this extremely fancy helicopter. The helicopter was capable of having two people in the front and three in the back. As I sat down in one of the seats, they strapped me down and put a microphone on my head so they could communicate with me.

The pilot said, “We are about ready for take off. Can you hear me okay.”

I said, “I hear a lot of static.”

The pilot got out of his seat and found another headset for me to wear. This one worked. I could hear him fine. The engine on the helicopter then came to life. Just before we lifted off, He said, “We are going to launch straight up then we’re going to take a hard right. I’m just letting you know just in case you might get sick.” I had to convince him again that I was not going to get sick.

He started flying over that area in New Jersey where the gangs where residing. It was weird flying in the dark over the city. When we flew over the city, we could tell where there was gang activity by the amount of darkness present. It is like you’re flying over communist North Korea which is mostly dark at night. On the other hand, in capitalist South Korea, the whole sky is lit up by the freedom present in the cities. We flew further over this dark area of the city.

The pilot asked, “Do You See of those lights in that one building? That building has been taken over by one of the gangs.” They pacified me by telling me that they don’t bother us flying over them at night. He continued, “They hear planes flying over head all the time and they do not shoot at us.” The pilot continued flying until we got to where the second gang was. We were approximately 11 blocks from the other building.

The pilot said, “This gang lives in two buildings as you can see by the lights in each building.”

I asked, “How did they get control of all these buildings?”

They replied, “They physically ran the owners off and took their property. If we go in there to try to do something about it, they just start shooting at us. We just let them shoot at each other and if they kill themselves so be it.” He looked at me intently and said, “This is where you come in Sonny.”

I said, “No, this is where Jesus Christ comes in. He revealed to me that the Holy Spirit has been preparing their hearts. Now it is time for me to take them His message. I just get to see it.” I am not sure if he comprehended what I just got through saying but he said, “Okay, I just wanted to show you the layout. One gang has 35 members and the other has 27. We can only drop you within eight blocks of their location. Any questions?” We prayed to our King that his glory would be revealed. He then asked, “What do you need.”

I said, “I’m going to need some wagons. I am going to be serving them breakfast. I need enough space to put the donuts, milk and orange juice to feed the 62 people in both gangs. I also have to carry some Bibles and crosses in for them.” They too had the Costco wagons for me to use. It is really easy to tie the additional wagons to the first wagon to make a wagon train. They dropped me off at my rendezvous and we placed all the food and Bibles in the wagons. As I was getting ready to begin my trip into the Danger Zone, three homeless guys happen to see me loading the wagons with supplies. They noticed all the food I had in my wagons.

They came up to me and said, “There is a lot of food in there.”

I knew that they were hungry and said, “Do you guys want some donuts?”

They replied, “That would be great.” I opened up one of the boxes and gave each one a donut. They asked for orange juice to drink. I gave them each a glass of orange juice. One homeless guy then said, “It looks like you’re going to a big picnic.”

I said, “Yes I am. I am going to minister to those gangs over there. Before I go there, I need to ask you a question. Are your names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life? Yes or No.”

One guy responded, “No, we are crazy guys and we live for ourselves.”

I said, “Today is the day of salvation. Tomorrow is never promised; not even for me.”

He said, “I used to go to church once when I was little. My favorite song was ‘Jesus loves me’.”

I said, “Why don’t we sing it?” I was there with them and the undercover police and we all sang that song. Halfway through the song, the homeless guys all began to cry. They all remembered from their youth what the words of that song meant to them. Soon the undercover police were crying. Then  as we continued singing, I began to cry. One of the guys stepped up and said, “I want to rededicated my life to Jesus Christ.”

I said, “What you see today is temporary. Jesus Christ and his Kingdom are eternal.”

Another homeless guy said, “That is so true. Do you have a Bible for me.” I gave each one a Bible and they both gave their hearts back to Jesus Christ. The expressions on these guys faces changed dramatically after they gave their hearts to Jesus Christ. They came to me looking tough and without hope. Now they have hope and meaning to their lives. The homeless guys left.

The undercover police that were here have not spent very much time with me. They were amazed with what they just experienced. They exclaimed, “Sonny, does this happen to you every time you go somewhere.”

I said, “This is what is supposed to happen to all of us. We are all supposed to carry God’s Kingdom to the people we meet.”

The undercover cops prayed over me again before I left. I said, “Whatever you do, do not come in and rescue me. Don’t send any drones or anything to try to take videos. You know what happened last time I was here. If you see me fall, you can come and get me later. I’m giving you some phone numbers so you can call these people just in case I fall. If you go in there and try to rescue me you will probably get killed. My King brought me here not to kill me but to bring salvation to this gang.”

The undercover cops said, “We won’t interfere but we are going to set up so we can watch you. You will not be able to see us.”

I started walking down the street and noticed that there were cars burned on both sides of the streets. The building walls have holes in them and broken windows. I was thinking in my heart that at one time these once were all businesses that belonged to people. And now they’ve lost it all to these gangs. I finally got to where the gangs were. What I saw was both gangs that I was going to be witnessing to were facing each other. Both sides had their weapons drawn. Five Guys on the right hand side of me had weapons that I have never seen. The rest of them had pistols. They were yelling at each other.

One gang said, “If you cross the line again, you are going to get shot.”

I stopped while this was all going on. God said, “Why did you stop?”

I said, “But God they’re facing each other.”

God replied, “Get in the middle of both gangs and tell them that I love them.”

I began pulling my three wagons of donuts between the gangs. I was beginning to wonder if I had enough donuts to feed everybody. I was planning on just witnessing to one gang now. God said, “I will supply whatever is needed.”

When I got directly in the middle of them, the two leaders came out and said, “What in the world are you doing? Are you stupid or something. You’re going to get shot here.” He had his bodyguard throw me on the ground to make a point. That pavement sure is hard. They started looking in the wagons then they asked, “What’s in the wagon?”

I said, “It is food for you guys. I brought donuts, milk and orange juice strictly for you guys. Let’s have breakfast.”

Again they said, “You are going to get shot. We do not like you.” He had his bodyguard throw me on the ground again to show that he was still serious. Again, I got off the hard ground and stood up before them.

I said, “Before you guys shoot me, let me pray for you guys first.”

Now they were really confused. They said, “If you pray for us, then we can shoot you. We like that.”

I said, “Yes, it will be okay because I will win and get to go to heaven to be with Jesus Christ. I am going to pray for you that I get to meet you when you go to heaven. But you have to make a choice.”

The leader said, “Hurry up and pray for us.” I started praying for each man individually. The Holy Spirit revealed things to me about each man as I prayed. Meanwhile, they were all lining up to eat donuts. I prayed with one gang then walked across the street and prayed for the other gang. I prayed for both leaders last. One leader said, “That was pretty powerful praying. You did not even know us but yet you prayed for all of our families. I have not even seen my parents in ten years. I’m a leader and I’ve been out here struggling and trying to survive here.”

I asked, “Why did you walk away from your parents?”

He replied, “It is pretty easy when they’re drug addicts and drug dealers. I did not want that life but yet here I am doing that in this life. We sell drugs or whatever we need to do to make money.”

I then said, “This is not why God created you. This is not your purpose in this world.”

The leader retorted, “Oh yeah. What is my purpose!”

I said, “It is to go and make disciples of all nations. You cannot do that with pistols or drugs. You cannot disciple people while you’re doing that. Everybody has a Ministry. A nation could be 7 blocks from here in New Jersey.”

Both leaders looked at me and said, “You’re the bravest and dumbest guy that we’ve ever seen.”

I said, “I am brave for Jesus Christ but do you really think that I’m dumb for what I’m doing. You see, I know where I’m going and it’s not dumb. But the question is; do you guys know where you are going?” I paused a second to let them think a little bit. I then asked, “Are you guys good swimmers?” They confirmed to me that they were. I then said, “If you do not accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you will be swimming in the Lake of Fire for eternity. It is not just for the weekend.”

I was having an impact on them. Then they asked, “Are you a full-time preacher? Do you ever not stop talking about Jesus Christ?”

I said, “Only when I am asleep because then I need to rest.”

He said, “That’s a good one.” He then changed his tone a bit and said, “It’s a lot to think about right now.”

I said, “What would it be like if you were a dad and your son would call you and ask how you were doing?”

The gang leader said, “That would be pretty cool. I would like a son who would do that.”

I then said, “Why don’t you call your dad and do that?” He began thinking about calling his dad. I turned to the rest of the gang members to see if they had any prayer requests. I said, “If you have a family member that is sick, I will pray for them.”

One gang member stepped up and said, “I have an aunt who is very sick. She’s in the hospital right now.”

I said, “Call her and I will pray for her.”

He gets on his phone and calls his aunt. She said, “Hi Ricky! Are you okay?” All gang members when they called their parents and haven’t spoken to them for a while, get asked if they are Ok. They know that they are in a gang and there’s usually something serious that usually makes them want to call home.

He said, “There is a guy here whose name is Sonny. He is telling us about Jesus Christ. He asked me if I had a prayer request and I said that I did. I asked him to pray for you because you are sick.”

His aunt began to cry. His mom and dad happened to be in the room visiting his aunt that day. His aunt said, “Your mom and dad are right here.”

The minute she said that their son started crying. He had not seen his parents in three years. His parents also started crying. It was nearly ten minutes before I could even pray for her. I finally had a chance to pray for her. God said, “Whatever you do, do not try to pray a book.” God knows me too well. Sometimes I like to pray and say a lot. When I got done praying for her healing, I said, “I need to ask you a question. Do you believe that you are healed by the stripes of Jesus Christ? The Bible says we are healed by his stripes.”

The aunt said, “I believe that.”

I then asked, “Is there any unforgiveness in your family that you have not forgiven? Is there a family member that you have not forgiven. The Bible talks about if we do not forgive he will not forgive us. Remember it is not what I say.”

The aunt replied, “I have been mad at my brother for seven years and I have not talked to him since. He talked smack about me and my family. I do not talk to him and I have not forgiven him.”

I said, “Today is the day of salvation. You need to call your brother and tell him that you want to forgive him. If you are going to see my King you need to be clean.”

She then asked me if I was a full-time minister. I said, “Only when I’m awake. The rest of the time I need my rest.”

You should have seen that room. Everybody begin laughing. I was on speaker so I could hear everything going on in the room. They laughed for a while then things began to get serious. The aunt said, “I am going to call my brother today. Could you pray for my husband. He is angry at God for putting me in the hospital.”

I said, “It is not God who put you in the hospital. You should have never taken the vaccine. That second shot is what put you in the hospital.”

God showed me that she had all kinds of blood clots in he body. They had a suit on her that was trying to stimulate her body to break up the blood clots within her. That suit physically shakes her in the bed trying to dislodge all the clots.

She then wanted to rededicate her life to Jesus Christ. Remember we are still on speaker phone. While all this was going on, the gangs on both sides were listening in on the conversation. The speaker phone was loud enough so they could hear God’s message being told. Before he made the call to his aunt, all the gang members were spread out all over the place. When he made the call everybody kept converging closer to us to hear better. Soon everybody from both gangs completely surrounded us to listen in on the conversation. After we finished talking we hung up the phone. The bodyguard, who kept slamming me on the ground, apologize to me. He said, “I hurt you pretty bad man. Are you mad at me?”

I said, “No, I have forgiven you as my King has forgiven me.”

He again said, “I hurt you pretty bad but yet you want to forgive me. I’m sorry that I did that. I am not going to hit you anymore. Please forgive me. I am just sorry that I ever did that.”

I said, “I have forgiven you. It is okay.”

He then asked, “Is it really that easy to forgive someone.”

I said, “When Jesus Christ is in your heart, it is very easy to forgive someone.”

He then confided in me and said, “I need to forgive my parents. When I was 12 years old my parents gave me to my grandpa and grandma. They just couldn’t handle me anymore. One day they just packed up my bags, took me to my grandparents and dropped me off. I watched as they drove off. They never even looked back. I just stood there on the sidewalk crying as they left me there standing alone.”

I said, “It is pretty hard to forgive somebody who just abandoned you. I know what it feels like to be abandoned. We have to forgive. It is between them and God what they did. If you carry that anger, hurt and bitterness, you carry that for what. None of that stuff is ever going to heal you. Just give all that stuff to God. Let God do the healing. You just love them and forgive them because they are your parents. Also do it for God. The Bible says honor your parents. There is no stipulation about not doing it if they’re not very good parents.”

He said, “I get it man. I’m beginning to understand. I am going to call my dad right now.”

All the gang members were close enough to hear him speak on the phone. They were really curious about what he was going to say. I feel that many of them had similar circumstances and they were trying to figure things out. They were hoping that they might learn something from what this guy was about to do. His dad answered the phone. He said, “John, are you okay? How’s it going? I haven’t talked with you for a long time. Where are you?”

John said, “Dad there is a guy here who is telling me that Jesus loves me. He said that I need to forgive you or God is not going to forgive me. I forgive you both for leaving me at Grandma and Grandpa’s that day. You abandoned me but I still forgive you. If I don’t forgive you I will never see heaven.”

His dad started crying. His mom was also listening and she began crying. They asked, “Do you want to come home?”

John said, “Yes.”

His parents asked, “Just tell us where you’re at. We will come and get you.”

At this moment, both gangs started walking away and pulling out their phones. They all started calling their parents. I did not beat them up with the word of God but I did show them what he is capable of doing through prayer. When John forgave his dad and those men saw what he did they decided they wanted to do the same thing. Both gangs were getting ready to give their hearts to Jesus Christ. About this same time, a bunch of cars started showing up. It was hard to believe that an hour and a half ago they were all aiming pistols at me and John  grabbed hold of me throwing me on the ground. Now they’re calling their parents wanting to go home. The big thing that they were doing was forgiving. All the gang members told their parents that they did not want to leave until they gave their hearts to Jesus Christ. They all lined up with their parents standing next to them. Everyone was crying as they were waiting to give their hearts to Jesus Christ. I then asked them  “Do you want your names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life? If you do, raise your hands.” All the gang members raised their hands and even their parents raised their hands also. Even though many of the parents were already Christians, they raised their hands anyway just to support their sons. There was a lot of crying going on as the sons gave their hearts to Jesus Christ. The parents either rededicated their hearts or gave their hearts to Jesus Christ for the first time . There wasn’t a dry eye anywhere. Everybody was crying as the Holy Spirit began moving in their hearts.

The leaders came up to me and said, “Everybody who comes around here, we hurt them. I couldn’t even pull the trigger on you. I was ready to take you out, take everything you had and dump you in the river. I couldn’t even pull the trigger on my pistol so I just put it away. My hand cramped up severely when I tried to grab hold of my pistol. God is real because he saved your life today.”

I said, “He also saved your life today because I am already saved.”

Both leaders said, “We just cannot wait to see our parents.”

I found out later that John left his grandparents because they were leaving church and were killed in an automobile accident on the way home. He loved his grandparents because they did a good job of bringing him up. But after that he was on his own. He became angry at God for letting that happen. I said, “God did not cause the wreck but it was their time to go. I cannot explain why God allows those things to happen. But he has a purpose for everything that does happen. It is like today. My life is not in your hands; but it is in God’s hands. If you would have shot me today and killed me that would have been God’s will to bring me home into his Kingdom. That means I have accomplished everything that he has sent me to do. Your grandparents in the same way accomplished everything that they were supposed to do and God brought them home.”

John said, “Sonny, I get it; I get it. What is interesting is the leader told me to stab you. But I couldn’t do it. I said I am not going to stab a man that brings me Bibles and food. If you want to stab him, stab him yourself.”

Saying that to the leader takes courage. Even disrespecting a leader like that can get you into a lot of trouble but he was being bold.

One of the leaders parents had to drive a fairly great distance to get here. No one left until his parents arrived. Those gangs both had bonds with their members in order to hang with each other like that. Some of them said to each other that if your parents don’t show up come stay with us. We will adopt you. When John’s parents came, they immediately apologized again to him for dropping him off at their grandparents home. One leader introduced me to all the families. He said, “This is Sonny. He loves Jesus Christ. He brought us breakfast this morning. He reminded us of a song that Jesus loves me. He said he told me that he’s already been worshiping God because he sang that song before he got to us.”

After we talked about Jesus Christ and the awesome things that he does, everybody started going home. The three homeless guys all of a sudden showed up. They said, “That was the most beautiful thing we have ever seen. We saw the whole thing from a distance. God is so faithful isn’t he.”

I said, “Yes like I said, what you see now is temporary. But spending life with Jesus Christ and his father Yahweh is for eternity. That is going to be fun. The grapes there are as big as Volkswagens.”

One homeless guy said, “Are you serious? We are going to have a big face when we get there to eat that.”

I said, “I will greet you when you get here.”

Another asked, “Is it true that we get new bodies when we get there.?”

I said, “Yes I am short now but when I get to heaven I’m going to become a tall man. I know that the angels in heaven are all tall. They have huge hands and the shield and the swords they carry are huge. But I’m not sure if we’ll be as tall as they are.”

The homeless guys and I parted ways. These are the only two gangs in New Jersey that my King wants me to see. The undercover police took me back to my room so I could get ready to fly to Chicago tomorrow. My King has a large gang there for me to witness to. These guys are part of the MS-13 gangs and they are pretty mean. I am praying that my King will watch over me as I witness to them.

New York Gang Falls to Jesus Christ

It was Tuesday and I finally got permission to fly into New York. This covid thing is definitely causing a lot of problems when it comes to traveling. When my King needs for me to go, He makes it happen. I climbed aboard their private jet and flew directly to New York. They circled the jet over the area where I was going to be witnessing; so I could view the layout. I said, “I’ve been here before.”

My informer said, “A lot of things have changed since you were here last time. This gang that we are showing you has 42 members and they all drive nice cars. They have a good business with the drug cartels. We can never get them at the right time to arrest them.” I continued watching the airial monitor as they were speaking. He then asked, “What do you need for tomorrow?” I already had the Bibles and crosses in my possession for these guys.

I said, “I’m going to feed them breakfast. I need donuts, milk and orange juice. I will need wagons to take all this food in.”

The informer asked, “You mean like the Costco wagons.”

I said, “Yes, they need to be big.”

He replied, “We have two of them for you. Just remember we can only get within seven blocks from the area the gang controls.” They drove me to that point and dropped me off with my supplies.

They said, “Sonny, we just cannot get any closer than this.” I looked to see what was in front of me. It looked like a war zone from here to where they live. I swear that it looked like I was going to walk through a Hollywood movie set. The undercover police warned me that anytime a car drives through here, they just start shooting at it. The gang does not trust anybody.

I said, “Okay, I will go on foot from here.” I started my journey walking down the middle of the street. I never walk on the sidewalk. There is a lot of curbs on city sidewalks and it is tough getting the wagon wheels rolling over all the bumps. I am also more visible to the gangs on the street. It is dangerous to sneak up on a gang. It is not like traffic is a problem. While I was walking, I began praying as I observed my surroundings. The houses had broken windows and were all shot up and everything was tore up. There were burnt cars along the street and lots of damage.

Suddenly a homeless guy showed up on the street in front of me. He warned me that I should not go any further because the gang ahead of me is mean. They just shoot at people for the heck of it. While he was talking to me, he noticed the food I had in the wagons.

He excitedly asked, “You got donuts?” I said, “Here.” I opened up one of the boxes and gave him a couple of doughnuts. I picked up a glass and poured him orange juice which he had requested.

My King revealed to me that this man has been living for himself. I said, “Let me pray for you. What you see here today is temporary. If you give your heart to Jesus Christ, he will save you. Jesus Christ is eternal. When you die, you will be in God’s Kingdom. Your name will be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.” The homeless guy began crying.

I then said, “You stopped for a donut. Jesus Christ will give you the real food.”

He began thinking more about what I said in turning his life to Jesus Christ. He then said, “What do I have? I have nothing to lose.”

I said, “Yes, you have everything to lose. You have your soul.”

The homeless guy paused a minute to process what I just said. He then said, “Yes, I am going to give my heart to Jesus Christ now. Everything that I am is here and I have nothing to take with me.”

I began praying over him and I gave him a Bible. The homeless guy then said, “I will be praying for you as you go in. Thank you very much for giving me breakfast.”

I gave him one of my Ministry cards and I continued walking. When I got real close to where the gang was at, two guys came up and suspiciously asked, “Are you lost?”

I said, “No I’m not. I have been found.”

With a puzzled look they said, “You have been found! What does that mean.”

I said, “I have been found by Jesus Christ.”

They then replied, “Oh, you are a preacher then? You came to the wrong place. We want nothing to do with God here.”

I said, “Are you sure? If you listen to a couple of verses you will get free breakfast. But if you don’t want to hear what I have to say, I will take the donuts and I will go feed the homeless.”

He then said, “Oh no, wait right here.” He ran back into the building and soon all of them were coming out. There was a total of 42 guys who came out. One guy started poking me in the side with his pistol. Another guy had a pistol behind my head. He then said, “If this a booby trap, I am going to shoot you.”

I said, “No man. I came here to tell you that Jesus Christ loves you. I also came here to give you some food. I have donuts, milk and orange juice for you guys to eat. I did not come here to hurt you but bring salvation to you. My King has a purpose for you guys. What you are doing now is not it.”

The leader said, “You talk pretty bold man. You are going to get shot here.”

His bodyguard came from nowhere and grabbed a hold me and threw me on the ground. The bodyguard said, “How come your God is not protecting you now?”

I said, “He is; you see that I’m still alive.”

He then challenged me again by saying, “Once you get up, I will body slam you again.” I got up and as expected he threw me down on the ground again.

The Holy Spirit must have distracted him because he then asked, “You really did bring us donuts? Don’t you know where you are? Don’t you know what happens to people like you who come here?”

I replied, “This is all temporary and the pain is also temporary. My heart and my life belong to Jesus Christ and that is eternal. If you kill me here, I will win because I am going to see my King.” I paused for a moment to let them think about what I said. I continued, “Before you guys shoot me, let me pray for you.”

Then the leader asked, “Then you will walk away?”

I replied, “Yes, I will.”

Before I had the chance to start praying one kid came up to me and hit me in the side with a pool stick. I swear that I felt one of my ribs crack. My King must have been there to weaken the blow because the stick exploded into two pieces. The one-piece flew off and hit one of the other guys right in the groin. You should have seen him go to the ground in pain.

My assalent then threw the broken stick down and said, “Dang, you broke my pool stick.”

I responded, “You hit me with that pool stick and I was protected by my King. That is the reason it broke.”

That shook them up a bit so I could begin praying for all of them. While I prayed, they all began to dig into the donuts. I did have cups for them to pour the drinks into but they threw the cups on the ground and passed the bottles around, drinking directly from them. My King told me things about each gang member as I prayed for them. I had a specific prayer for each of the 42 men that were there. As I finished up praying, I prayed for the leader last. When I approached him, he asked, “Do you have any last words to us?”

I said, “My words to you are Jesus loves you and He has a purpose for you. It is to serve Him and not the enemy. The devil is the enemy and what you’re doing is destroying your hearts and destroying your families. When was the last time you called home?”

The leader replied, “It has been eight years.”

I then said, “I bet they miss you. I have one other thing. Do you have any prayer requests for you or your family?”

The leader told me, “When I walked away from home, my dad was an alcoholic and he probably still is. Could you pray for him?”

I said, “Why don’t you call him? I will pray for him over the phone.”

The leader looked around to see how his men were looking at him before he called. He then said, “Okay I’ll call him.” He dialed his number and his dad answered the phone. His Dad asked, “Are you okay?” His son was not sure what to say to his dad so he turned the conversation to me.

His son said, “Dad, there is a guy here who is telling me about Jesus Christ. He wants to pray for you. I am going to give the phone to him.”

His dad quickly said, “Has he been telling you about Jesus Christ?”

The son said, “Yes Dad.” and handed me the phone.

I said, “My name Sonny. Your son wants me to pray for your addiction to alcohol. God is capable of taking any addictions that you may have from you.”

His dad responded, “I have been sober for two years. I still fight the temptation to go back and continue drinking every day. I have given my life to Jesus Christ.”

I said, “Let us pray that God removes those thoughts completely from your head.”

As I started praying for him, I could also hear his wife crying in the background. She asked, “Who is praying for you?”

Her husband replied, “His name is Sonny. He has been telling our son about Jesus Christ.” She started crying harder.

The gang leader felt uncomfortable with his mom crying and said, “I need to walk away right now. I need to do some thinking.” He grabbed his phone and a couple of doughnuts and then left.

I kept ministering to the whole gang while he was gone. I spent all day with them sharing the word. They all had prayer requests that I prayed for and many of them were family related. They soon began calling aunts, uncles and whoever was a part of their lives. I noticed the homeless guy I witnessed to earlier was sitting over by some trees. He was watching everything while I was praying over these men. I went back to ministering to these broken young men.

The sun was about ready to set and I said, “It is almost time for me to go.”

The gang said, “You are the only one we’ve ever let get this close to us. You showed us love instead of hate. You did not beat us with the word of God but you feed us and just told us about the love of Jesus Christ. You read scriptures to us and nobody has ever spent the time to do that. Everyone is always afraid of us.”

I said, “I am afraid of you guys too but I also know that you guys are broken. This is the ministry that my King has given me to come to the lost and the broken hearted. You guys are like lions. Lions can devour people. But you guys have hearts that need to be saved.” I could see the hearts changing in these young men.

The leader finally came back and said, “My dad is different. He hasn’t  been drinking in two years. That is a very big thing that he has done. I have asked him to take me home.”

All of a the sudden, his men stopped what they were doing. One guy asked, “Does that mean we’re not a gang anymore?”

The gang leader then looked directly at his men and said, “You guys determine where you want to spend eternity.” I can tell the way he was talking that his dad must have been talking scriptures with him and talking about eternity because the leader has also changed. Even his men could see the change in him.

The guy who threw me on the ground apologized to me  saying “I am sorry that I made you bleed. I wanted to shoot you so bad when you walked in here because we just didn’t trust anybody. If you want to pray for us again, go ahead.”

It was time for them to give their hearts to Jesus Christ. I said, “All of you who want your names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, come forward.” As I finish this sentence, all kinds of cars started showing up. I will be asking them this same question later. The cars were all the parents of the young men. While I was ministering to everybody, they were calling their parents wanting to come home. Usually the gangs don’t start calling their parents until they’ve given their hearts to Jesus Christ. These guys just could not wait. When the parents got out of their cars, they began running towards their sons. I stopped everything I was doing and waited. When everybody arrived, I had the parents and their sons come together. I found out 60% of the parents were Christians. It was time for the rest to come to Jesus Christ. I called everybody to come forward again to give their hearts to Jesus Christ. The parents who were not Christians also came forward with their sons and gave their lives to Jesus Christ with them.

Many of the parents shared with me that they have been praying for this day for a long time. And it has finally come to pass. We got to celebrate. Soon a bunch of Pizza Hut cars started showing up. When the delivery boys got out of the cars to hand the pizzas off, you could tell they were terrified coming into this area. Soon everybody was enjoying the pizzas.

The gang leader got up on the balcony of one of the buildings and said, “Just because we have given our hearts to Jesus Christ does not mean that we cannot be friends. My dad said he is willing to have small groups for discipleship. Any of you guys who want to be part of that come with us. We can share our contact information so we can have Bible studies together.”

Could you imagine that in the morning they were aiming pistols at me and body-slamming me on the ground. Now that it’s evening, they were wanting to have Bible studies. It is sometimes tough to get beaten up like that but in the end, serving God and doing what He wants will become Victorious. I will never enjoy being body slammed but the rewards of seeing someone coming to Jesus Christ outweighs the pain. When they all went home, they might have grabbed an item or two but everything else was left in the buildings. They all wanted to put this life behind them. It is also interesting how they controlled such a large block of buildings. They were so dangerous that no owner could even collect rent on those buildings or occupy them themselves. The gangs will physically walk in, put a gun to your head and ask you to leave. No one has the courage to tell them to leave so you are without your property.

But it is the beginning of a new day. The law enforcement told the owners that the gang cleared out and they could go back into their property and claim it. I also found out there were five undercover police watching me the whole time just in case I got shot but I never knew who they were. We actually drove ourselves out of that area.

The homeless guy showed up and stopped us saying, “That was a miracle that just happened. You made a believer out of me that miracles can happen.”

The undercover police, who kept their identities, asked if he wanted a job for cleaning up some apartments.

He replied, “No. I have already gotten a job. While I was watching Sonny at work, the owner of those buildings was also watching what was going on. He hired me to help him clean up his buildings. He noticed that the guys were leaving the area and needed help to clean things up. That homeless guy watched me all day and God gave him a miracle.

This is the only gang that my King wanted me to see in New York. He is now sending me to New Jersey.
