08/09/2025 Do you ever struggle with your self-esteem? This is the favorite ploy of the enemy to destroy us. He uses our short comings to make us feel inferior. If you would get the opinion of those in government, they think we are all inferior. Jesus's quote is the only one that counts:

Luke 12:6-7 NLT
“What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.

We are valuable to our King. But not so valuable that if we do not have a personal relationship with Jesus, we will not be saved. If you are not living your life the way you should, just repent like the thief on the cross:

Luke 23:40-43 NLT
40 But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? 41 We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”
43 And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

It really is that easy to come back to him, but this thief was granted a last-minute opportunity that most people will never experience. That is why it is important to get on his track today. Jesus is anxious to forget about our sins, but this means we change how we live:

Galatians 6:7
Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.

My final thought is that we are all valuable to our King, but I am not more valuable to Jesus than you are assuming we are both serving him. Even though God uses people to accomplish his events we will always need him more to help overcome the enemy. Jesus is willing, but are we? I am probably like many of you where I have weak areas in my walk. I also know "Jesus is Lord" and is capable of getting me back on his track too.

Jesus is a gentleman and he will never force us to do anything. Living for Jesus requires we know him. Not knowing him is like the Indiana Jones movie "Last Crusade" which had the cups to drink from. The knight said, "Choose wisely" when picking a cup. The bad guy grabbed the jeweled laced cup, drank and died. The knight looked at Indy and said, "He chose poorly". Indy knew that Jesus was a carpenter's son and made the decision to pick the one made of wood. Indy used the water in the cup to save his dad in the end because he knew more about Jesus. Even though this is a science fiction movie the principal of knowing Jesus is still accurate. The more we know what Jesus wants the better our walk will be if we continue to love him. God's written word is a good place to start in knowing more about Jesus.
08/07/2025 Check this verse out and see how the nouns are listed:

Isaiah 33:22 (New Living Translation)
For the Lord is our judge, our lawgiver, and our king. He will care for us and save us.

1. Judge - Naturally as humans we make poor judgement calls. It is great to have a Lord that is the perfect judge.

2. Lawgiver - God gives us laws to help minimize the dumb stuff we do. We are like a toddler that has to stick that metal fork in the electrical outlet .

3. King - Our Lord is the King of kings, which makes him awesome in my book but it was listed last.

Maybe the order was coincidence or is there a reason. We do know that the "Lord of lords" is good at all three. It is written that only our Lord Jesus can save us:

John 14:6 NLT
6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

Looks like all other paths take you straight to Hell which is the only other option. Another thing that is written that only our Lord does is:

Matthew 6:30 NLT
And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

Jesus never leaves us even if we think he has. I too have experienced those days where things seem dark. The enemy loves these moments. Let's not give him the satisfaction by losing hope!

Psalm 149:4 NLT
For the Lord delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.
08/05/2025 I notice that people who really know the Lord are the only ones who seem to get it. Woke is not in their vocabulary.

Psalm 119:130 NLT
The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.

When you reject Jesus it usually leads to a lot of foolish thinking. One of the reasons Jesus sent the Holy Spirit was to keep us from falling in the trap of stupidity. I hate to see how I would see the world today without Jesus Christ. We all need to be thankful for the wisdom the Holy Spirit gives us. I do have to admit I can still do some dumb things but let's not aggravate it by not knowing the King of kings.
08/04/2025 How many of us would like to know what the future holds. God wants to share these things with us:

Jeremiah 33:2-3 NLT
“This is what the Lord says—the Lord who made the earth, who formed and established it, whose name is the Lord: Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.

If you want God to give you direct information on which tech stock or which crypto to buy, you are probably out of luck in this promise. God wants to give intel on the truth and to prepare us for what may be coming. What ever he shares will always honor his name.
08/03/2025 When we come together as a body of Jesus Christ, do we do this:

Psalm 100:1-5 NLT
A psalm of thanksgiving.
1 Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!

[God wants too audibly hear our voices even if he reads our thoughts. Remember that others will hear your praises that honor our King. You also show you are not embarrassed to honor his name in front of others.]

2 Worship the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.

[Does your heart reflect this attitude? It may be time to get that excitement back because God loves excitement for him. The enemy tries to steal this from us. Beware of what he is trying to do.]

3 Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

[Satan knows the Lord is God too. Your heart should reveal the rest of this verse.]

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.

[When we enter his presence, this should be what our heart wants.]

5 For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

[This is the picture of the God we serve. Since Jesus is Lord, he will make sure it happens as long as we joyfully serve him.]
08/02/2025 Have you ever wondered what questions that Jesus will ask each one of us on judgement day? He will definitely ask a question on this topic for many of us:

James 1:22 NLT
But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.

By not doing what God asks us to do could mean someone could miss out on an opportunity to get saved. Jonah is a good example of this. Ninevah only repented because of the message Jonah gave them from God. The city would have been destroyed quickly. Doing what God asks could be the difference between life and death.

Jesus did the will of the Father and he was rejected by the people many times. The results of our efforts may not be what we expect but we did what God asked us to do. It was never mentioned in scripture, but Ninevah eventually went back to doing evil and was permanently destroyed. Did Ninevah get another warning before they were destroyed? Only God knows the answer to this question.

If we truly respect and love Jesus, we will want to do what he asks. Just like he did for us when his Father sent him to be the last sacrifice. The things he asks us to do are minor compared to what he did for us. As always, Jesus is Lord!
07/30/2025 They say that no one likes a show off. God thinks differently. He wants us to show ourselves off to the world in a manner that people will see that the true God is behind it:

Matthew 5:14-16 NLT
14 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Do not be embarrassed to show off Christ to people. By watching you, they will want what you have and proclaim "Jesus is Lord!"
07/28/2025 For everyone who loves the Lord and if Paul was alive today, I could see him doing this for us:

Philippians 1:3-6 NLT
Paul’s Thanksgiving and Prayer
3 Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. 4 Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, 5 for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. 6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

Each one of could apply this verse to those around us who are serving God. I know the day-to-day things can be a real headache and we may not want to do this. Paul wrote this verse in Romans:

Romans 8:18 NLT
The Future Glory
18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.

Jesus will never abandon us. In John, Jesus explains that we will soon understand what happens in our life:

John 13:7 NLT
7 Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.”

Until that day happens Peter has some advice:

1 Peter 5:7 NLT
7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

Worrying can play with your mind allowing the enemy to make you feel like an outsider, but Paul wrote this:

Ephesians 2:19-20 NLT
A Temple for the Lord
19 So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family. 20 Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.

Even with this promise we can still mess up, just ask for forgiveness. We always should continue to model our lives for Jesus after he forgives us. This is what David said about the God we serve:

Psalm 30:5 NLT
5 For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime!
Weeping may last through the night,
but joy comes with the morning.

In order to model our lives after Jesus we have to understand the love He demonstrates for us. He requires that we do the same for others. Paul talked about this to:

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NLT
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

8 Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!

Even though he commands us to love one another, he promised good things for us that will glorify his name:

Jeremiah 29:11-12 NLT
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen.

Pay close attention to verse 12. Do not ruin God's plan for you because of an evil heart. Solomon knew what would happen:

Proverbs 4:23 NLT
23 Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life.

You heart does control your life and is used by God to reflect who we are. I am no bragger myself in having that amazing heart. God will be the first one to tell you this. But I am not going to quit trying either. "Jesus is Lord" and he "loves me and you" and is "patiently" waiting for me to get it right.
07/27/2025 Sometimes I have to read a verse several times to grasp its meaning. This is one of them:

Hebrews 12:1 NLT
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

The church was really growing when this verse was written. The power of the church is measured by the strength of it people. I think Paul wrote this book because he was big into racing. He wanted us to get rid of everything that would make us ineffective in Christ's church. He totally understood that the enemy can be crushed if Christ's church is filled with Holy Spirit filled people with the desire to do the will of God. Other then the power of prayer which has the greatest power. Christ's true church is a force where the enemy will flee.

The worst thing that happens to a church is when it losses its power, the enemy has now lost its fear of us and will infiltrate the body to divide us. He wins the prize after the divide is complete. The author of Hebrews knew this could happen. God made us to live as a body and to live with him. Just as we need Jesus, we need each other: "Just as God designed it".

Jesus is Lord!
07/21/2025 How many of us have felt like this as we live out our lives:

O Lord, how long will you forget me? Forever?
How long will you look the other way?
How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul,
with sorrow in my heart every day?
How long will my enemy have the upper hand?
Turn and answer me, O Lord my God!
Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die.
Don’t let my enemies gloat, saying, “We have defeated him!”
Don’t let them rejoice at my downfall.

I heard that it took 15 years for David to become king after Samuel anointed him for the position. These are the words of David in Psalm 13:1-4. But he never forgot who Our God is:

Psalm 13:5-6
5 But I trust in your unfailing love.
I will rejoice because you have rescued me.
6 I will sing to the Lord
because he is good to me.

So just hang in there. Many of us are going through things too that are a challenge to us. God lets life to be overcoming because it shows that we need him. There are things that only he can fix. Sometimes we have to grow before we can be used by the King of kings. That is why "Jesus is Lord". He will never abandon us. Just like David had to, we need to wait upon the timing of the Lord.

Romans 15:4 NLT
Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.
07/18/2025 If we truly love our Lord, the first thing we look for is "What do you want from me?". Both God's Word and the Holy Spirit have the answer to this question. These are the results you should be seeing:

Psalm 119:7 NLT
As I learn your righteous regulations, I will thank you by living as I should!

Does your life reflect what this verse says. If not this world may have too much control over you. Even I have to pay attention to this because it is easy to get wrapped up in things that do not grow us spiritually. Ask your self this question each day. "Am I going about this day doing things that please you?" This will make you think about this verse.

You are right. I have had to answer "No" to this question many times. But I am not going to give up and continue to fight the way I should be living. I am grateful that Jesus Christ forgives me when I mess up but I do not want to take advantage of this grace by falling into the ideas of this world that remove him from the throne. Let us all strive to do things that please the King.
07/11/2025 Have you every heard of the curse of the generations where bad things of each generation are passed down to the next generation? Could this be the result of having to much religious freedom in America of the wrong kind? God has something to say about this:

Deuteronomy 5:8-10 NLT
8 “You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind, or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. 9 You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me. 10 But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands.

We need to remove all forms of worship from this country other than the worship of Yahweh and Yeshua. It greatly angers God in what we allow to happen in this country. If we attack these other religions in hate we are no better then they are. We can do legal things to stand against the spreading of this evil. We need to live like Christ so we can witness to these people that there is something better. There are two promises here. Option A: "I lay the sins of the parents upon their children;" The other is option B: "I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands." The latter happens only if when we get rid of all the fake religions in our land.

God's word never changes and it means exactly the same thing today as when it was written. He is a jealous God and he deserves our respect and love. God gives us so much yet we want to worship dead things. Do people do this because they are dumb or is it because dead things don't ask things of us or show us our sins? All I know for sure is that God is real and Jesus is Lord!
07/08/2025 I hear so much crap about the nation who lived in the land first and that land should be given back to the nation that was chased off. God tells us why this happens to nations:

Deuteronomy 4:37-40 NLT
37 Because he loved your ancestors, he chose to bless their descendants, and he personally brought you out of Egypt with a great display of power. 38 He drove out nations far greater than you, so he could bring you in and give you their land as your special possession, as it is today.

39 “So remember this and keep it firmly in mind: The Lord is God both in heaven and on earth, and there is no other. 40 If you obey all the decrees and commands I am giving you today, all will be well with you and your children. I am giving you these instructions so you will enjoy a long life in the land the Lord your God is giving you for all time.”

If God promises you something or you have a heart for him he will give you refuge. Those nations whose land was taken were NOT serving God. They lost their land to Israel. It never will be their land again. A nation who serves God will never lose its land to anyone because God will protect it. When a nation's heart becomes hard towards God, this nation will give up it land to someone else. Remember this thought USA. If our nation turns its back on God we will lose our right to live here. Daniel never turned his back on God but was still exiled to Babylon. His walk with the Lord did not prevent this. This is why it is important to have leaders who make an effort to love the Lord. None of them will ever be perfect. When you vote for the party who hates God, its leaders despise who God is and sets up a dangerous situation.

I firmly believe to only two reasons why we still live in this great country today is the amazing prayer warriors and that Jesus Christ still needs the resources of this nation to reach to world before he returns. Lets fight to get people who love our King to preserve this great nation.

God will always take the land from the ungodly and give it to those who love him. It is in reverse if you despise the King. Read the Old testament and see how many times Israel faced this ordeal. They lived it and it is an object lesson for the rest of us. It seems like God many times will use another ungodly nation to teach us a lesson. They will not be able to keep it long either because he wants the land to belong to people who love him. Another cool thing God does is bless the land when we serve him. The ungodly see the results of this and want what you have. They have incentive to take it from us. Do not let hard hearts give them the opportunity to take our great country.

Thank you Jesus that our nation still has something to offer that can glorify your name!
07/06/2025 Matthew 24:35 NLT
Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.

The focus of this verse is on the solid foundation of God's word. But pay close attention to "Heaven and earth will disappear". This tells me both earth and heaven are going under serious design changes. Revelations talks more about this.

Revelation 21:1-2 NLT
The New Jerusalem

21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

I heard the old heaven is awesome but what is the new Heaven going to be like. It looks like our King's Kingdom is going to be our new neighbor. Only God knows what this new Heaven is going to look like because no one else has been their. JESUS will be Lord there also.
07/02/2025 This is one of those verses that can only humble you if you truly love the Lord:

Jeremiah 17:9-10 NLT
“The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.”

We cannot hide anything from our King. We will be judged by the standards our hearts dictate. We all have heart issues that cause us to sin. The more we live for Jesus the cleaner our hearts will become. Keeping our thoughts pure from worldly things is a big help. Luckily for us Jesus knew we could never do it all on our own and came to fill that void in our hearts for us that only he could take care of.

Jesus "King of kings!"
06/29/2025 I am sure glad that God works the same in peoples lives today as he did in people who came before Jesus made the greatest sacrifice of LOVE for all of us. This verse coincides with Jeremiah 29:11:

Psalm 138:8 NLT
The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.

We have an advantage though because our King has come and is risen just to conquer the enemy. He is alive today in our lives now. The old testament people had to wait for the coming Savior.
06/25/2025 We pray for China, Iran and other countries that persecute Christians. We want them to have the freedom to worship our King. The problem is that those churches we pray for are the only ones who truly worship our King as he should be. You have to truly love Jesus to put you life on the line as these people do. There are no lukewarm people in these churches. Many are denounced from there families having to live alone. Every day they worship could be the day they get caught and be taken away. On the other hand, many American churches are like this and Paul warns us about them:

2 Thessalonians 3:6-13 NLT
An Exhortation to Proper Living

6 And now, dear brothers and sisters, we give you this command in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ: Stay away from all believers who live idle lives and don’t follow the tradition they received[b] from us. 7 For you know that you ought to imitate us. We were not idle when we were with you. 8 We never accepted food from anyone without paying for it. We worked hard day and night so we would not be a burden to any of you. 9 We certainly had the right to ask you to feed us, but we wanted to give you an example to follow. 10 Even while we were with you, we gave you this command: “Those unwilling to work will not get to eat.”

11 Yet we hear that some of you are living idle lives, refusing to work and meddling in other people’s business. 12 We command such people and urge them in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and work to earn their own living. 13 As for the rest of you, dear brothers and sisters, never get tired of doing good.

If those persecuted churches could see how many American churches are run they would be ashamed of us and wonder how we became so calloused towards our Savior. We need to pray that American churches become powerful like their churches. When the name of Jesus is properly honored, just watch your church grow as everyone properly serves him.

PS. It is a gift and a blessing to be able to live in a country where there is minimal persecution in worshiping the King. Do not make God play his hand to get our attention! If persecution is the only thing that will make his church strong in America he will allow it to happen to wake us up to become the church HE wants.
06/24/2025 We all probably have those moments where it seems the enemy has us beat. Paul asks for prayer from others whenever he is serving the Lord. We should pray for ourselves and others likewise and believe that this promise will happen:

2 Thessalonians 3:3 NLT
But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.

This is one of the perks having Jesus as our Commander & Chief.
06/22/2025 Have you ever wondered why God puts us in the place that we are at and not someplace else. For example, we have a ministry in the ghetto on east Colfax in Denver. God's desire for us is that we work with his people there. There is another ghetto in Denver called 5 points, but God does not want us to minister there. God has a reason for everything he does.

Never forget that God loves those people in 5 points just as much as those in the other ghetto. There is one thing that is different. God had to show the prophet Samuel what that was:

1 Samuel 16:7
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

When those individuals in our ghetto began to give up their time to worship and glorify the name of "Jesus", God saw that they truly loved him and wanted to demonstrate it. Jesus talked about those with hearts to worship the King of kings:

Matthew 5:8
God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.

I was chosen by God as a vessel to demonstrate the part, "for they will see God". When I mention "chosen by God" it was because I had no interest in the ghetto. God physically had to show me how amazing these people are and how they are increasing their love for their King. This all started because of what God saw in their hearts. If you want God to be active in your life let your heart reflect more of God each day.

They also know what this means by living it each day:

Matthew 22:37
Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’

You cannot fool the King:

Matthew 15:8
‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.

OR

Matthew 23:28
Outwardly you look like righteous people, but inwardly your hearts are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessness.

In the near future there will be a group of people in 5 points who all have hearts for God. They will come together and honor Jesus's great name in worship. When that day happens, "God blesses those whose hearts are pure". This is a promise quoted by Jesus himself! Watch out amazing things only God can do will also happen in 5 points.

I know why I am here at east Colfax because of the hearts of the people who live here. I do not regret it one bit!
06/08/2025 There are people alive today that have this kind of faith:

Habakkuk 3:17-19 NLT
17 Even though the fig trees have no blossoms,
and there are no grapes on the vines;
even though the olive crop fails,
and the fields lie empty and barren;
even though the flocks die in the fields,
and the cattle barns are empty,
18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord!
I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!
19 The Sovereign Lord is my strength!
He makes me as surefooted as a deer,
able to tread upon the heights.

We serve a God who keeps his promises as said in Romans:

Romans 8:26-28 NLT
26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. 28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

If our heart is truly behind God, do not let today's challenges dictate our feelings toward God. Today can be God testing you. Tomorrow could be victory just as verse 28 says. I know this can happen because Jesus is Lord!

PS. If you have those days where you have your doubts, I have had them too. It may be because we have not prayed and given everything to our King. Maybe it is time that we do it today.
